As much as Ange's faith in his work could be seen as inspiring, the work itself doesn't bare enough fruits for us to have 100% faith in it and his reluctance to admit to his mistakes and amend them can also be very frustrating.

Some fans have no appreciation. I wish him nothing but the best and agree with his decision to leave celtic and have a stab at a higher level after winning the treble. Don't be so bitter. Another couple of transfer windows with Ange and the premier league winners won’t be winning games 3-0 like always been the case, they will be winning games 7-3. When you consider how Ange wants his teams to play football and how Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United played their football you see more similarities in style. The difference is how football has evolved over 20 years. Regardless whether a team plays a high line or not it’s the positive risk taking style that Sir Alex and Ange have in common. It took Sir Alex about five years to get Utd. To make their mark. We should give Ange his time to get Spurs up there.

But the style of play has changed in those hundred yrs. Are the usual winners today more attack minded or bus drivers ? Getting pleasure out of someone losing a job , shows your mentality. And shows exactly what Ange said. There’s a pretentiousness about EPL fans. The usual “he can’t do that here it’s the premier league “ ., “this isn’t Scotland or Japan “. Spurs had Mourinho and Conte, two very pragmatic managers and where did that get them. The football was pretty much unwatchable.

Yes and no - there's an arrogance about the Premier League, but then you're talking the league ranked 1st in the UEFA coefficient compared to his past experience with Scotland (ranked 17th) and unlikely the Japanese or Australian leagues would be in the top 15 nations in UEFA (if they could). There is a huge gulf in class between Europe's top 5 leagues and any he previously managed in.

  • @thecountofmontecristo8280

Doing it your way is fine, but you are going to need the very best players at your disposal, like a Pep Guardiola. Ange doesn't have that at Spurs. He probably will never have that at Spurs, as they lack the income from the Champions League that many other clubs he's competing with have. A big new stadium isn't enough, most clubs in the Premier League have that.
His style is so ultra offensive that he asks his defenders to be the absolute best in the league at defending 1-on-1, whereas most other clubs demand their wide forwards help their full backs - Ange doesn't demand this from his wide forwards. Neither of his full backs in Porro or Udogie are great in 1v1 situations. Centre backs Romero and Van Der Wen have both looked really poor when put under pressure, while Vicario is unpredictable at the best of times. It seems highly probable that Ange's tenor will end because he placed too much faith in a system that relied on players that simply weren't good enough.

The only time i've ever 'disagreed' with Ange is when some fans celebrated losing to City to spite Arsenal. I think that was a poor season and taking that silver lining in a low expectation season I see absolutely no problems with. If everyone has agreed to 'write-off' the season to rebuild the team and tactics then we can't tell everyone to be happy about it, no way. I wanted to win that game and that's the only time i've ever not 100% agreed with him or his methods/tactics, I love the all out attack, I love going for 3-4 instead of sitting on 2 (because guess what we've done that for 5 years before this and had worse outcomes) so let's not forget where we were literally a season or two ago and I absolutely will back him through any outcome, result or rebuild. I want him here for the next 10 years but I think given it's already had some rocky starts we may end up stupidly giving Levy a scapegoat yet again...
