      I become a ride or die angel advocate for Ange after he fixed the mess that was the Socceroos in 2013. His football oozes passion and energy, key fundamentals all people should apply going onto the pitch. I’m a Chelsea supporter in the prem and this would the only reason to have an interest with Spurs.

    As a Rangers fan, everything in my body told me to hate this man and yet i often found myself with nothing but respect for him.
    His style of play, the way he gets teams to pull together is unread, his man management (going by the players) seems to be spot on and he genuinely seems like one of lifes decent human beings.
    Plus, hearing him destroy journalists is absolutely outstanding. He doesnt take any shit from them at all and quite rightly puts them back in their place.
    I'm much happier he's at spurs now 😅

    At Celtic, we could tell he was a legend. Our last great manager was Martin O'Neill, who managed the club from 2000-2005. Ange was the best manager since O'neill, and if he had stayed a few more seasons he could have eclipsed him.

    That game against Holland in 2014 had me genuinely excited that Australia were in the path to become a true footballing nation thanks to Ange. We had them rattled and Angeball was on full display. Player quality in the end made the difference but the seeds were sown that we could play attractive attacking football and compete at the highest level. Sure we’ve had some great results since but I struggle to watch the team these days. Ah what could’ve been….

    • @thesorrow88

      By the time he left in 2017 I can’t help but what if he stuck around in 2018. The game that sticks in my mind was the Confeds cup match v Chile, we only drew but we absolutely out played them, Chileans could barely string a pass beyond their half by the final 30 minutes.

      @@lloydowen1977 you the sad thing is, I honestly believe only Ange and Arnie could manage the teams to a competitive manner. The massive problem with Arnold is he selects too many of the same type of players, and some of them weren’t used to their strengths, Jordan Bos in LB wouldve been more effective in attack. If Ange had manage the side I reckon it would’ve been a lot different.

    In applauding his achievements for getting to the PL I don't think most pundits realise how difficult is to be successful in competitions like the A League or J League where managers need to be so much more hands on, perform multiple roles and coach and develop less talented players to play an ambitious style
    What I think makes Ange special is also his ability to read the game using his instinct and trust in this.
    My favourite Ange match of all time is probably Aus v Chile, 2017 Confederations cup .. not fielding our strongest team and yet still going at a top 10 side toe for toe playing open and attacking football .. that approach with that side that day took real balls and was great to watch despite ending in a draw

    Been watching him since the Roar days, not as long as some but long enough to be completely sold on his philosophy of football. The best comments i've heard Ange make have been in reference to Richarlisons mental health. Ange was so brilliant and look at how he is playing currently. This does not happen with every player and every manager, but I know if it is possible, Ange can achieve the absolute best out of players. 2014 WC is another example of how we played against giants and did not disgrace ourselves. Ange can win anything at Tottenham and I hope he does. 🦘

    I'm a Spurs supporter of a heavy 30+ years. Ange is the first manager I've actually enjoyed listening to since Glenn Hoddle. Poch was a good manager, but something about him speaking turned me away from listening to his interviews. Mourinho was good the part of his first season, he seemed luke a different man, but his old persona came back quickly. Conte was insufferable to listen to from beginning to end (although I respect that he had personal problems and feel for him there), but Big Ange is so charming with bite when he needs it.
    I see holes in his management style, others teams have identified them. But I trust in Ange to fix them given time. Now I hope that Daniel Levy gives Ange that time. I don't care all that much if we win or lose (30+ years as a Spurs supporter does that to you) as long as we play well, with a style that is watchable and worth supporting.

    • @wefinishthisnow3883
      @wefinishthisnow3883 7 месяцев назад +7

      100%, there is no pathway (other than if your parents have money). It's completely broken at the youth and amateur level.
      My under 18's team were playing in the NSW State Cup final (we were all under 17's playing against kids 1 year older) and yet there were no scouts that made the trip to go and watch it. Not much of a crowd at all. One of the best players in our team left to go play rugby league with his mates the next season. If this was in Europe, our team would have been given tours of pro stadiums and a handful of our best players might have been given a brief training session with a pro team. We'd have likely had a scout watch a few of our games live as well.
      In football you also need good teammates to stand out, but the scouts and coaches we have here aren't experienced enough to know what to look for. Most don't notice things like off-ball runs into space, ability to maintain possession, or good progressive passes that don't result in chances.
      At try-outs, the coaches don't even watch the players. They're not looking for players that show potential to develop, instead they're usually just talking far away in the corner. They've already made their decisions based on who they're mates with and it wouldn't matter if someone with the ability of KDB showed up to the tryout.

      As a longtime coach, I agree wholeheartedly with @wefinishthisnow3883. People from other countries will scoff at this but if football was run the way it should be in Australia, we would be one of top ten nations in the world. We have the talent pool, just poor leadership from the people at the top of the pyramid making the decisions.

    • @Schlesticle
      @Schlesticle 7 месяцев назад

      They need to add a second division and focus as Football is growing so fast. I know so many talents at my school and one just joined the Melbourne City Academy. Sadly they don’t give a af and the field we use is awful, dead grass no lines shit goalposts nothing we make do, yet the footy players get two ovals, basketball players two tennis courts. It’s ridiculous. I would argue that football is more popular than footy at my school. They just don’t care enough, the amount of hidden gems across the country is ridiculous. It seems you have to live in Melbourne or Sydney to get any recognition. My state doesn’t even have a professional team. We have a stadium that can be used so all you need to do is find some players and you’re good to go. And start actually funding projects and disband the current fa and form a new one.

Ironically, Rodgers comes in for a second time to replace Ange and it’s just a mess but Ange is seen as some sort of Demi god by the Celtic fans even though he left them for more money just like Brendan. A good manager but he has zero loyalty, but who can blame him. He used Celtic as a stepping stone and the Celtic fans fell for it. If a bigger club than Spurs come calling, he’s away.

    Ange will stand or fall by what he achieves at Spurs. Position 5 or below, he's nothing special, looking at the resources they have. Nothing in Europe, given the resources, he's nothing special. We'll see if he gets past the Dam Headna Average comedian stage.

    I’m a Rangers man, but even I couldn’t help but respect him whilst he was at Celtic. He didn’t bite to the media, he didn’t entertain slagging off other teams, he was focused on his game plan and his squad, that was it. He’s straight to the point and no bullshitting, he’s a respectable man and credit due where its due, he’s very well accomplished and deserves it all.

      @Tearsofaclown01 it’s no criminal to praise opposition from time to time of course, Celtics had many a player throughout the years I’ve had a double take on. Petrov, Larsson, etc, it’d be ignorant to say they were shite. Scotland had some pull at one point or another.

    • @steventhomson8966
      @steventhomson8966 4 месяца назад

      @Tearsofaclown01 it’s only us two that really matter up here brother, we’ve been the backbone and relevance of the league for the last 20+ years while simultaneously having to hold up the rest because they canny keep up. But Rangers and Celtic will always be the bad guys in the scenario for some reason.

    Watch out for Spurs next year.

    Proved the world wrong by doing exactly the same if not worse at Spurs than the 2 managers before him?
    Sorry im confused here, or do you mean by winning with Celtic? The easiest job in pub league football?
    He is a nice guy will admit, most Aussies are but has done nothing at all of note so far except give witty responses to journalists

    I’m a spurs fan, I really like ange and what he’s brought to the entire club! I really just hope he’s not a flash in the pan though, losing to wolves the other day and certain results worry me, honestly speaking only time will tell and he’s only been in charge a short time but I really hope he’s backed by the club and starts getting a team together that doesn’t throw away points.
