Here is the long-waited RX7 & Rotary video. The very limited edition Type RZ version included all the features of the Type RS, but at a lighter weight, at 1,230 kg (2,800 lb). It also featured gun-metal coloured BBS wheels and a red racing-themed interior. An improved ABS system worked by braking differently on each wheel, allowing the car better turning during braking. The effective result made for safer driving for the average buyer.

Everytime I look at these episodes, I feel like I’m on a museum tour...but a museum tour thats actually interesting lol. I appreciate how the editing/production is done. Thanks for keeping us sane during lockdown. Be safe.
I personally feel that Gran Turismo vibe everytime i watch this channel
luke ramcharitar I feel the same way.
Its like being taken back to the late 90s
Yea! Hope you consider taking a little side job as a car museum tour guide :D

Love how Japanese people are so passionate about there cars and respect other peoples tastes. Great video. Take care. Cheers.
Unlike Americans who can't just accept people for what they are.
@@fpvillegas9084 That's true I remember in a car meet a guy parked his well tuned EG6 It was modified with very tasteful mods and he was playing Eurobeat songs on his estereo mostly from Initial D like Dancing your gonna be all around and secret love and other songs like from M.O.V.E and david rodgers and then 2 D-bags with automatic mustangs V6 started to call him ricer but his EG6 hatch was nice not mention under the hood of that EG6 had a B16A with ITB's with a nice N/A raw sound

The pearl white of the 2000 RZ has to be one of the nicest colors ever.
I prefer Competition Yellow Mica on any RX7, but I have to admit, white pearl does also look great on an RX7.
white hides the contours, I prefer the spirit r silver grey

This video must be archived for future generations long after we all pass away. It is a very detailed analysis of the RX-7, the most iconic Japanese car ever.
castamir every car that comes out of japan is iconic imo, always relevant no matter what era it is
Dana Fokin White not at all ,the carrs from japon are iconic..toyota yaris ,rx8 are bullshit lol.
R34 gtr

Meh, mk1 mr2 is more iconic. Or nsx
correction: 33:40 The silver can is the engine oil filter, not the air filter. sorry for that
very impormative video sir :)
@Capt Bradford We’ll always give you the benefit of the doubt; ty and much love!
40:17 This is the kind of thing i am always relieved to hear, i hate the thought of a beautifully crafted car rotting away in someone's garage as a display piece. a car is meant to be driven, it is in my opinion an insult to the engineers and designers who worked to create a spectacular machine for their creation to become a 'bonsai' as you put it. no matter how rare or special a car is it deserves to be driven and enjoyed to the fullest.
Agreed, a driven car is better than one with low mileage that sat in a garage for 20 years. Rubber/hoses and gaskets need to go through regular heat cycles or things get brittle.
everybody has their own opinion. if people want to turn their cars into museum pieces then more power to them since they're preserving a piece of history.
nut that will break the car at some point. there should be like 2-3 examples well kept and maintained somewhere. as far as i know most manufacturers have little museums for that.
@@sepg5084 that is such a stupid argument. Sorry, I am normally not that bold but imma just be straight
Damn, I want this guys magazine collection
@Kairu seriously. to me, they're almost as desirable as the featured cars themselves.
Me too! I searched on eBay and bought one!
I have a number of these RX7 magazines, they are pretty comprehensive.
It used to be possible to order them from JDM importers/tuners.
@col.hapablap - I agree. I have a few for EG6 EF9 EK9 and European and Commonwealth markets brochures too. They are worth their worth in gold.
The RX-7 design is fantastic. A timeless design, beautiful even today. And over time it will get more and more appreciated, like the classic italian sportscars.
Not to mention expensive
yoo, that's Emu's RX7 from the feature from the Albo the Drift Hunter guy.
Jdm masters also freind albo
Well emu is in the video talking about the car at the end
He helped inspect Albo's Miata after it was wrecked
7:30 The Corvette C5 (which had popup headlights) was sold until 2004. I believe that makes it the "newest" car available with popup headlights.
Still, not nearly as good looking or unique compared to the RX7.
they are talking about Japan though.
The C5 is basically America's take on an RX7 (I know it's stupid the engine is totally different but I mean, look at it aethetically anyway). Better than nothing.. and still an amazing car.
@@CHURCHISAWESUM Mechanicaly not really but design is similiar
what about the lotus esprit v8? ended production in 2004 too
This is by far the best RX7 review / overview video I’ve ever seen. This is my dream car, I’m 10 minutes in and I feel like you’re introducing it to me for the first time with all these details. Awesome job man!
Those are some of the most beautiful stock wheels I’ve ever seen.
Not to mention the seats in the spoiler
Yes! ever since i saw that photo on your instagram of Emu's rx7 ive been wanting to see this review for ages! Such a cool car thanks for another great video :D!
It's _one of the_ most beautiful looking Cars of the 90s. It doesn't have the most reliable engine under its hood but you gotta admit the the sound of the engine that their engine produces is really good! It's part of the RX7, whether you like it or not.
I love the rotary. And I believe that if you take care of it, You can make a reliable...ish rotary. Swappers annoy me lol.
Rotary sounds like God
She's really beautiful! The owner is gorgeous too! 🤭
Plus an Initial D fan?!?

Mazda's: *depressed happy face*
Actually you're right, but that's why I love their faces over any other car brand's. You just can't resist on having that weird feeling when you look at an FC, FD, RX-8, Miata, Mazda 3, Furai, etc...
I follow Emu for quite some time on instagram, and i saw that albo done and interview too, i love how she keeps the car stock and takes such good care of it. The car was intended to be driven on the road and not to be all the life on a garage, yes the value of the car will be lower but the felling of driving cant be exchainged for money.
Great video as always!
I love how much she loves the car and how you got her to talk about her journey with it.

The way the reviewer narrates and explains things makes it very easy to follow along despite the sheer amount of detailed information he gives about the car. This was an amazing in depth review and I can't wait to see more like this!

The best design out of Japan ever. FD + NSX + LFA = the dream Japanese trinity.
The FD gauge cluster is amazing and reminds me of the masterpieces from the 50s and 60s sports cars using Jeager gauges. Cars like Lancia, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Alfa Romeo etc. LOVE THEM!
So beautiful and so nice to see it in stock form
Amazing content! I love how in depth you go just amazing stuff.
Fascinating vehicle and owner. This is truly an invaluable resource for those of those of us in the west with a fondness and appreciation for Japanese sports cars and engineering.
I’m a Nissan man but I’m not gonna lie the RX 7 looks so damn good. Well done emu.m you have a killer ride. Thanks capt for another informative review! 😊
Fantastic video, I love your reviews and the detail you go into. However, a minor thing, it should be noted that both the Corvette C5 and Lotus Esprit actually ceased production in 2004. They were some of the final (if not, the very last) cars of the the 21st century featuring pop up headlights.
Mom: I would love to go to Japan to see everything that I can. From the city of Tokyo to Mount Fuji. Everything that I can see. Why do you want to do?
Me: To go and look at Tokyo, Mount Fuji, and everything else
What I really want to see: JDM Cars, Tofu Shop from Inital D, Nismo Factory, JDM Junkyard, go up and down the Wangan to make me feel like I am in Wangan Midnight, Tokyo Mario Kart race, Daikoku parking area, and much more. I really would like to drive either a Supra, R32-R34, RX-7 FD, or a Datsun 240z.

Wow this channel is a hidden gem for the JDM enthusiast. SUBBED!
Big fan of your works! Would love the same amount of details from your reviews like those magazines and information about development overseen during the cars conception for the Toyota MR-S, love all of your videos like these ! It may not be as advanced as the rx7 but I would love it since I don’t really see these kinds of reviews for any cars, all of your reviews are very in depth and entertaining! Thanks for translating to English especially lol, one of the more unique channels for cars!
Those FD's looks great. Man I wish I could see a rotary engine in RL someday.

I just realised halfway through the video, the puffy thing at your collar is a mike. Nice work! Sound is crisp and clear!
Curves everywhere.... A very much attention to detail. 😍
& I agreed with the owner.. If you really love the car, then drive it.. No need to just leave it in your garage.. They meant to be drive.. Appreciate it, exprience it & create every memory with it.
Not sure if he gets into the license plate, but for anyone wondering, the Kanji at the top says which prefecture the vehicle is from (sometimes the specific city if the owner wants) and the hiragana in the bottom-left is just random/chosen if available. The numbers are like our numbers. They also have plates where these characters light up in a blue/green colour.
Yes let's do it. How about a video where you compare different types: the spirit r, early and late model type r bathurst?
Great to finally see Emu-chan's FD being broken down. It's also cool to see how passionate she is about cars and the love and care she gives them.
2:44 NSU Spider was the first production car in the world to be powered by a Wankel rotary engine, but Mazda Cosmo was the first production car with a 2-rotor Wankel engine
First i gotta say that he got me good saying that "this was a short review", 45 min long, short review. Now jokes aside, i freaking love this guy. The way he speaks, he explains. He really puts passion in this and you can see he really love cars, not some like supra and gtr fan boy, he actually love the cars. And a fun fact, i started talking with Emu on Instagram about 3 or 4 years ago and had no ideea she was a singer, a writer and a fashion design. Damn Emu girl, u crazy. Wifu material
next car review, Honda NSX please ~
Great video. Once again. Thank you for your reviews. A viewer from Portugal. P.S.: please next time try to review in a deep analysis the RX8. ONE of the most loved our hated machine's... Unfortunately in all countries. Hope to see that. Abraço
My absolute fav jdm everybody loves gets and Supra but I was always and RX7 GUY...love me some R32 but will always choose AN FD
I am so grateful for all your great work and that you show us the Japanese Masterpieces from your perspective. Quality and so detailed video!! 👏 your knowledge is impressive!
Best regards from Sweden
8regi8 everything is from the books he had on hand and there was lots of errors throughout. He said the Eunos Cosmo had a smaller engine as an example.
RE its a difficult task to memorize all the details, he has a lot of time to master the knowledge. I do not know better yt channel in JDM topic in English
Please do an SW20!!! or even better a TRD 2000GT SW20!!!!!!!!!! or even more RARE an SW20 Spyder!!!!!! orrrrrr even more RARE the MC8 MR2 Race car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hmmm my friend don't haphazardly open a womans storage compartment ever LOL. You got lucky this time but there may be times you find things you can't unsee.
I've never gotten behind the wheel of the FD but i had 2 FC's before. Had fun with that. But I imagine the FD is loadsssssssssss more fun to drive. Bucket list car for sure.
80k miles on the car, not bad! I'm wondering what kind of compression values are on the motor. Technically it wouldn't suffer from the same failures as the RX-8's Renesis motor, but the REW had its own quirks. Really happy that she enjoys the rotary despite its faults. If you are into cars and you land on a rotary at one point or another and begin a passion for it, it will never leave you. I can personally attest to that lol... Wish I could meet her in person. On a side note, anyone know what bodykit that blue RX-7 was rocking? I'm not having any luck finding it anywhere.
If this intro doesn't pump you up for sporty night drives with the boys (and the unfortunately very few car girls), i don't know what will!
Love the culture & love the dedication to perfection. These cars are built by drivers for drivers. Hope your still enjoying the RZ :)
I love women that drive FD's. When I used to work the gates at Kadena AB in Okinawa, there was this Okinawan girl that worked on base with a sick Black FD. It was tuned and I always thought she was so sexy. She was very pretty and classy in how she presented herself but the car made her more sexy in my opinion. Not only was she a pretty woman driving what I consider the prettiest car to ever be made by a Japanese automaker but the fact that the rotary is so unorthodox and not a common choice dor a man nor a woman to tune made her so beautiful. That was 18 years ago. I hope she is still driving it.....
I am glad I still understand Japanese. I agree with her about the steering wheel and condition of the interior when you asked about the the scratches. She said she didn't know how many owners the car had or what number in the history of owners she was but at the time of the video the car was 18 years old and she thinks the previous owners did a great job taking care of the interior considering the age. She loves the response and the ability of the car to corner as well. I was just wondering how she sees over the steering wheel. I also like that she wanted to keep her special edition stock as possible
all the video are very well made. As a fan of JDM I like the way of you introduce the cars, the history and all the small little pieces of details which it seldom delivered by others youtubers. This really deserve more views and likes.
Keep up and hope there are more good contents coming, especially evo and STI haha as I own evo v and sti ver9 hawkeye oops.=P
Your video is top class, superior work. Thank you so much for providing it.
Emu-san is so cool! How she feels about driving her car and customizing (or not customizing) her RX-7 is exactly how I feel about my 944... Take care of it, keep it stock, and most of all drive it!
Crazy how clean this car is and I really love the Japanese people for keeping their cars clean. I find the rx7 and her beautiful as well :)
Love this guy. Fantastic attention to detail and passion. We share your enthusiasm.
its a shame .. they stopped manufacturing these cars specially with the flip up lights.
her Instagram account @m.emu.m was stolen, new account name is @m.zelo.m
NSU was the first to produce a production car with a wankel engine, the NSU Spider.
Audiojack Yes. NSU spider was the first production rotary car. Especially in the western market. I should correct it to Mazda Cosmo Sport. The first Japanese rotary engine car. Thanks for pointing that out.
He also said the REW came from the Cosmo which was a smaller engine 🤔 20B is a lot bigger
ummm, i'll marry her..
Great piece on the history and development of the RX7.
The RZ version of the FD Series 8 '99 spec cars is of course extremely rare.
Was it the case that the RZ was intended to be the final RX7 before the decision to produce the three versions of the Spirit R?
I have owned a '99 spec white TypeRS from new and the RZ appears to sit between the RS and the Spirit R.
