I can't undersand how you can say that about such a fantastic horse like Frankel, have you not just watched the performance he put in! in your eyes he may remain a one trick pony but to the rest of the world he is the number 1 rated horse in the world. an absolute legend. he doesn't need to travel around the world as the best races are in England not Australia
The joy at which Frankel seems to run with is like watching a child bound through a meadow with total freedom. I've never seen a horse run like it really WANTS to win the race, it's head going up and down like a piston. Sensational.
To: @arryharry - I can not remember which race it was but after the finish as Tom Queally had brought him to a turn-a-round and walk back, he had to pull hard on the reins as Frankel was making out to go again. A 'freak' of a horse. Born to run.
This performance was... absolutely Ridiculousssss! You just can't dispute his claim to the pound for pound throne after watching this.. He's Majestic in every element!
How can you possibly describe this horse. He is something out of this world as someone called him today. I cannot get my head round it. Everyone is amazed. The jockeys are too busy admiring his ability, performance and brilliance and so they don't have time to be disappointed about being beaten. He is also so incredibly calm, cameras in his face, thousands of people cheering, fanfares and he just saunters along like there's no noise at all. Everyone should be in awe of this wonderhorse.
So proud to say I was there to see that. Simply breathtaking, The best horse ever and he's only going one way from now on. Scary that he could be better over 10f
I firmly believe Frankel could have been a sprinter. The early pace he showed in the 2000 Guineas and to be able to maintain that on probably the toughest straight course anywhere in the world (Rowley Mile) was phenomenal. The July Cup that year was Frankels for the taking, Dream Ahead could not live with Frankels turn of foot yet he turned out to be Champion Sprinter in Europe last year. Im glad connections took the route of staying at a mile...
The greatest single performance of all time by the mighty Frankel! 14 races and 14 wins! Thirteen victories at odds on.One Group One at sp of 1/20 and two at 1/10.He could lead, could be covered up in midfield or he could come from last to first. Royal Ascot 2012 was billed as Frankel, the wonder horse, and Black Caviar, the wonder mare. There was no comparison! Frankel broke the rules of racing.A normal aggregate distance for a day at Royal Ascot would be around 7 lengths for the six race card but on this day,it was over 14 lengths for the card.Because of ...FRANKEL !!
yes and when has a horse almost broke the track record on ground described as good to soft. Never is the answer and at Ascot of all places. Home of the king George where were the likes of mill reef royal palace sir ivor and Nijinsky have strutted their stuff. I believe if it had not been for Cecil's illness he would have raced in the breeders cup and won obviously
well we did invent for want of a better word thoroughbred racing. Sidney Godolphin brought over three Arab stallions which he bred with horses from this country. Every thoroughbred racing today is a direct descendent of those three horses
Just like me, mate. Been watching racing for 30 years and even The Brave couldn't cope with this fella. We won't see a better horse in our lifetimes, no way.
I can confirm there aren't enough words in the English dictionery to describe how good this horse really is... Brilliant is a massive under statment.... Frankel must have been kidnaped by aliens when he was a pony and they transformed his racing ability into something out of this planet.. My word i now believe there's a God.
Thank you very much for posting this video! This was a wonderful race to watch! I honestly almost cried at such a beautiful performance. All of the horses were excellent, but as in all races there can only be one true winner. I commend Excelleration for trying to keep up. Frankel looks like a winner both on and off the track. He seems easy going and as the commentator said he has a big heart. This is my first time actually seeing him run and I could simply tell you.... Amazing.
Unbelievable. I couldn't believe what I was seeing when I witnessed this today. The first 1-10 horse I've seen in a Gr1 and to win by 11 lengths 0.7 secs outside the track record on Good-Soft ground is just a ridiculous stat. Like Sir Peter O'Sullivan stated and hes seen the very best thoroughbreds over the years this horse is ''Extraterrestial''
In my short 30 years on this planet i have seen dominance in various sports. I have been lucky enough to see Pacquiao box, Messi play football, Senna drive an F1 car and Michael Phelps in a swimming pool (to name but a few). Without hesitation I can add Frankel to this list of incredible sporting dominance that has given us all some amazing and life long memories. This horse is quite simply the best of its generation. Frankel truely is the greatest racehorse in the world today. Maybe ever.....?
This time 2 years ago to the day i was at the Ledger meeting at Doncaster when my friend and i saw this horse bolt up in a decent conditions race.My friend said to me"Thats looks like it will turn out to be a bit useful". Pretty good judge my friend to say the least!!
11 lengths winner. 0.6 outside the track record in good to soft ground, and it turns out he lost a shoe halfway. Amazing Can't wait till saturday to see BC win easily then we can admire to brilliant horses.
yep he was a great race horse at his time. Sadly due to the different track conditions of those races he was really great on a few tracks, being in the top 5-6 in fastest times, but in a few tracks wasn't so good, being 20-30th placed or more. Like the Queen anne i think he was just .67 off being the fastest, while at the champion race he was almost 9 seconds from being close to the fastest.
Whew, thanks so much for the update. My initial comment was a little exaggerated based on one or two bad incidents, but I am glad to hear Bullet train will have a good life too :)
As someone who is neither English nor Australian, I really don't understand why these two magnificent horses need to be USED to fuel feelings of "national pride". Frankel and Black Caviar are incredible horses, period!

Black Caviare Proved it!!...............in Australia it was a monster mare an in the one race in the uk it was NEARLY found out!! so with tht in mind frankel deserves the title THE BEST!!
How quickly everyone has forgotten how Frankel won by a whisker in last years Royal Ascot Meeting. He didn't destroy all his foes. He is a great horse IMO but the consistency of Black Cavair is something he has yet to surpass. He may, but hasn't yet.
and stepping up this year as the prestigious races in Europe and espcially abroad are all over further than 5 and 6. Down under that could be debateable...
After today, it is incomprehensible that Black Caviar would even be able to give Frankel a decent race, let alone beat him, over any distance. He is in a totally different league and we saw that clearly today.
On a weekend when Galileo`s grandsons finish first and second in one of Europe`s premier classics; the 2,000 Guineas and his three daughters finish first, second and third in the female equivalent ;the 1,000 Guineas ,Gardiner and his dopey friend Mr Wth 74 are talking about some Oz gelding who won a race in Hong Kong. The level of their ignorance is truly breath taking !Galileo`s achievement this past weekend is truly ground breaking and they are consumed by their own mediocrity ! Then on Sunday, his daughter ; Found wins the Group Three in Ireland despite having to cope with unsuitable ground and is immediately made favourite for the Arc - Europe`s favourite race! All these wonderful horses by Galileo but there is still only one who deserves the title "HIS MAJESTY" and that is .................FRANKEL !!!!!!
FFS!! Stop slinging nasty comments over these two horses! They are both amazing in their own right, but are different racehorses...appreciate them for what they : AMAZING.
I got up early in the morning to watch this race in Australia.. Frankel looked amazing! He looks very hard to beat over the mile.. although i did see him almost lose in the St James Palace Stakes in '11. But purely due to the fact the rider went way too early. I would love to see Frankel v Black Caviar in a match race with no pacemakers/help/hinderence from any other horses.. but sadly we never will. We can just admire these magnificent animals! Go on BC this saturday!
Watch the 14 min version of BC race, It shows the other angle, the jockey whipped her 4 times. Personally I thought BC ran a great race, in particular her smart exit from the box, the way she travelled in the early part of the race; her ease of action covering the ground and the way she sustained her gallop. Having said all this I don't believe she possesses a devasting turn of foot of the calibre found in Frankel. I am really pleased BC won and so are the British racing public.
henry died a happy man, best of his his lifetime, best o mine(so far).......wonder if we will be talking bout this like arkle in the future.......i cant see any reason not!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah in the world , as in right now, Black Caviars 22 records straight will be remembered 100 years from now, Frankels just be "just another good horse".

@Lisa Harris exactly!!
What a bumch of crabs he beat

I'm not even a racing fan but I am flabbergasted!
wow wow wow
Watch the 14 min version of BC race, It shows the other angle, the jockey whipped her
4 times. Personally I thought BC ran a great race, in particular her smart exit from the
box, the way she travelled in the early part of the race; her ease of action covering the ground and the way she sustained her gallop.
The greatest flat horse I have ever seen..
Yeah in the world , as in right now, Black Caviars 22 records straight will be remembered 100 years from now, Frankels just be "just another good horse".
Well said, cant wait for his next race, August 1st I think.
Good clock performance here too. The best run of his career i suspect.
