England and Australia tarp off the bottom rows of seats for NFL because the bottom rows are at pitch level so the crowd wouldn't be able to see the game over the top of the people stood beside the field.
4:38 Sections get tarped off because most other stadiums in countries like the UK and Aus have seating extend all the way to ground level, and makes it easier instead of having to remove seating which would be useless due to obstructing views
4:53 Osaka Stadium was turned into a real estate expo in 1991 is lasted till 2000 the neighborhood was fake it was for people to tour an see the houses an the neighborhood
I believe they tarp off the first rows in the European games because the rows are too low and you cant see anything with the players and camera setup. Qualcomm had that issue with their lower field seats.
That rendering of the Melbourne Cricket Ground understates how much larger an Australian rules football pitch is compared to an American football field. They could fit two gridirons side-by-side within the playing surface.
Back in 1990, SkyDome hosted WrestleMania VI without a stage. Like WrestleMania III at the Pontiac Silverdome, wrestlers were brought to the ring on carts that replicated mini wrestling rings
I've said this before but I'm gonna say it again. The tarps are there to prevent spectators from sitting there since those areas are obstructed by players and coaches standing up on the sidelines

Bro, Fenway hosting soccer It's not really weird cause it's Liverpool FC which is owned by believe it or not Fenway brands and that was probably when the soccer team got bought out in like 2011 and Fenway brands which also got a hockey team and host a hockey match too at Fenway I don't even think you know what the winter classic is kids now even know what you think expedition games are learn about the governing of sports guy this is ridiculous
My hometown of Baltimore, Maryland had Oriole Park at Camden Yards converted to an outside church when Pope John Paul II had a mass when he came to visit.
You got it backwards with the Minnesota stadium, it was TCF Bank Stadium and now it’s Huntington Bank Stadium. And it’s not boring. I respect the hell out of them for going with a classic design for college football
Can you possibly do Caesars Superdome when they hosted Arena Football for the New Orleans Voodoo in 2014. If I’m not mistaken it hosted six games for the Voodoo.
The reason Fenway hosted Liverpool FC pre season is because Liverpool FC is own by the Fenway Group. So wherelse is better to hostthis game? Osaka Stadium has houses inside is not because they provide homes to the buyers. After the former tenant moved, a property developer rented the place to build mock houses as samples for buyers to check their products.
They tarp off the seats on the sidelines when they play at Wembley (and a few other places) because stadiums purpose built for soccer don’t always have a wall on along the sidelines, the seat’s just come down to field level because in soccer there’s fewer people standing on the the sidelines to get in the way of the people in the first few rows
I saw the saints play in Tiger Stadium as a kid. At the time, it was the first time alcohol would be sold at Tiger Stadium. Honestly I’ve never seen that many fights in my life at a football game. I remember people wearing shirts that said “FUCK KATRINA” and cops making everyone of them take the shirts off.
Also the reason the seats were empty at Tiger Stadium was because the Saints were awful that year, going 3-13. However they would get the 2nd overall pick, selecting Reggie Bush, and reaching the NFC Championship Game the following season.
London (Olympic) Stadium home of West Ham United hosted MLB games in 2019 between Red Sox and Yankees Forgot to add this but Cubs and Cardinals played there too in 2023 The stadium itself is considered weird in the UK, think of it like the old American multipurpose stadiums since it's technically an Olympic Stadium converted into a Football (Soccer) ground
Only one event that has been held at the Trop has been discussed so far I think. Along with hockey, the Trop has hosted the 1999 NCAA Men's Final Four, the Davis Cup finals (tennis), numerous college football bowl games, high school/college graduations (that might not be weird), a winter walk-through lights display which might have been talked about before, and the WWE during Covid. It's gotten plenty of use by a number of sports and other things
These 3 vids were awesome! I am surprised that I haven't seen a WWE Wrestlemania stage/stadium/city ranking yet. WWE designs its WM stages to match the city. With pro wrestling being a Top 5 Topic on RUclips for views, I'm surprised that this has not been covered yet, or maybe it has and I haven't seen it yet.
Tarping the lowest seats for football game. The first few rows are in line visually with the height of normal people. So if you sat in those seats your view would be obstructed by all the players and coaches and equipment. Unlike in baseball where there may be a point where a ballboy blocks you for a split second, with football hundreds of people will constantly block your view.
If houses can be added to this list then the former Highbury Stadium in London should get a mention. The outside of the stadium was designated as a landmark so Arsenal FC couldn’t demolish it when they moved. They turned the grandstands into apartments and the field into a courtyard.
I think the MCG is bigger. And the front row tarp is because those seats are angled too low. While American football has spectator fences off the ground to see over all the staff standing on the sidelines, most Australian grounds have the front row at ground level.
Back when it was still around the Kingdome was the place where most of the big auto, boat, RV, etc. shows took place in Seattle. There was a weird tent thing outside the stadium that got used as extra exhibition space for those shows because not everything would fit on the field or in the 100 level concourse a lot of the time. Because of these uses and the general lack of any other suitable venues for them in Seattle there’s now a big expo center connected directly to Lumen Field that now hosts these events. If one of the events in the expo center needs more space, it will typically spill out into the concourse of the actual stadium, so you will see all the concession stands and the Seahawks team store surrounded by a bunch of cars or boats. As far as I know none of them use the actual field of the stadium even though they happen mostly during the NFL and MLS offseason.
England and Australia tarp off the bottom rows of seats for NFL because the bottom rows are at pitch level so the crowd wouldn't be able to see the game over the top of the people stood beside the field.
Liverpool FC only played a soccer match at Fenway Park because the owners of the Red Sox also own Liverpool FC.
Plus the owner is American.

They tarp off the first few rows because of the sight lines being so bad . Too low to the field and can’t see over everything
