Hi all I just typed it up to keep track of what step I'm up to whilst doing the job, save time searching manually for which part I'm up to on the video. Feel free to use this as a guide too :) and Thanks TechClub for the video.
Excellent video, thanks...I'm no mechanic but changed both sets of headlights in 3 hours with this guide. No bolts or screws left over when I'd finished which is a result 😃💪
Thanks so much. I bought a replacement headlight for, would you believe it £27, and then courtesy of this excellent video fitted it myself. Never done it before 👍
Bilal B one thing I forgot to mention was that I had to set the headlight beam to the same level as the other one this can be done by turning the white plastic hex on top of the headlight
Bilal B you can do it after it's installed so it doesn't matter too much i had people flash me to say I had high heels on turned out it was just aimed too high . parked in front of a garage and rotated the hex untill both were the same
It’s the second time I do it one my 9n one 3 one I will put the angel eyes one it. Well done video 👍 It’s not easy to put new lamps one this headlights
Excellent video. I was able to do job in under an hour. It would have been quicker If I had checked I had slid the bumper back in place via the plastic slots on the side of the body work first lol
I don't know why you don't just use a corless drill after getting the bolts loose, it seems a bit annoying to unscrew these bolts by hand while also holding the ratcheted socket wrench. Also, what's the cable on the bumper used for?
Many thanks, great video, very helpful as my son has just bought a Mk 4 Polo. I've also subscribed as everyone is trying to get to 1000 subs at least.... You do have to wonder which 46 people didn't like the video though?
The replacement of the new lamp combination seems to be different from the 9N on my car. The cover style of the near lamp is somewhat different. Is the replacement lamp the original one?
Are you sure you didn't buy the model for the 'facelift' model, which came out 2005 and ended in 2009. This headlight encases both parts of the lamp without the divide in the middle.
That is a hell of a lot of screws and bolts, just top replace a headlight! - Debating whether or not to attempt this myself as garage want to fit a brand new unit to car probably due for the breakers yard before the next MOT
I had to yes. I remember it being a bit of a pain to transfer over. don't forget to adjust your headlight beam height aswell with the white screw thing ontop once you have the new headlight in
Far too much work needed to replace a failed lamp. It's something I never like about modern cars. After all that work, I'd suggest changing _all_ of the lamps to Osram Ultralife variety. They're not the brightest, but they are easily the longest lasting bulbs you can get.

Ur a legend mate cheers
thnk you mr. it was great job..
Thank you for sharing!
I’ve just done mine :)
Hi mate, great vid, any idea how you get the motor out. It only turns about 45° but wont pull out. Thanks
This is the fastest way to change a burned bulb on the 9N as well. :)
Excellent thanks
thx for the video 👌😉
Very detailed info thanks. Was about to do one for a mate.

Also, what's the cable on the bumper used for?
How did you remove the 4 pin screws?
Hopefully you are still available are all the screws thw same size? And what size are they
Good video . Can any body tell me Wat tools I need to do this job
The cololant level was giving me anxiety, since i just had mine repaired after it was leaking. My Polo is the 2008 model :D
Thanks for the video mate. I guess it's almost the same on VW LUPO?
Many thanks, great video, very helpful as my son has just bought a Mk 4 Polo. I've also subscribed as everyone is trying to get to 1000 subs at least....
You do have to wonder which 46 people didn't like the video though?
S
Great cheers mat. Does what it says on the tin.
what size are your alloys?
You are great
No your great
Nice 1
Any chance of doing a video on removing the front wing, or some pointers would be helpful

Would you be so kind to share the part # that you ordered for the headlight please?
Hello, I noticed that antifreeze level is below minimum - is it common issue this these Polo's, that they eats antifreeze?
Probably got a leaky seal on the other side of the engine from the water tank the seal often goes n needs replaced its kinda trianglish shaped
Bought the exact same headlights and low beams simply don't work. If i turn low beams on, both indicators light up and not the low beam bulbs. Why?
That is a hell of a lot of screws and bolts, just top replace a headlight! - Debating whether or not to attempt this myself as garage want to fit a brand new unit to car probably due for the breakers yard before the next MOT
How do you get the damn push pins off. They are the worst
can the motor be removed separetly
What screwdriver are you using? I have a right angle one but it's too big to get to the wheel arch screws without taking the wheels off!
A set of Torque Bits,
something like this. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TORQUE-BIT-SET-15PC-SET-1-2-SOCKET/191078149155?epid=1223079338&hash=item2c7d252c23:g:QU4AAOxy0NtTB4uz
Have you tried turning the wheels to full lock to allow room for the tool in the wheel arch?
what size are the torx bolts next to the foglight grille?
It's T20 or T27, cant remember which one ist next to the foggrill. You do actually need both to change the light, so you need to have both anyway.
All this to change to a headlight bulb. I love my car, but i hate it for other reasons like this too 😂
have you remove the battery case before? if you have some pictures for wiring under it please send it to me ,
HEY BRO, do you have used the motor of the old headlight?? Easy job?? I have bougt same as yours..
I had to yes. I remember it being a bit of a pain to transfer over. don't forget to adjust your headlight beam height aswell with the white screw thing ontop once you have the new headlight in
@@techclub8528 so... some diy.. not straigh fit? You just skiped that part :d Sorry for my english :D
@@brunovalente5856 I wanted to show in the video how to get the headlight out. the rest can be done by using your brain and thinking about it
@@techclub8528 WOW thanks for your kindness, i will. I´m from Portugal, so.. nothing to discover now ;)
Thanks for your good video. I would however have hidden the license plate. The coolant level is too low.
Carpe diem coolant is done we had a leak.
Coolant level in a parked car can be whatever he damn likes, mate :P.
The lights are removed without having to dismantle half the car. I have done
For those who has headlight washer here's a link that explains remont-bampera.com/en/vw-polo-2001-2009
Just need to clean everything before putting it back on the car !
