Thanks all for watching (and for the kind words from many of you!) - another thanks to those of you who’ve gone on to grab some merch - orders being fulfilled as we speak, carswithjb.com if you also wanna get involved!
As a long term substriber, I've never felt the need to comment, always enjoyed your content. This time you've gone beyond. J. Lets see more like this. Effing amazing job mate. D.
Notification squad 😊 Thank you for the video and upload. The volkswagen polo 9n definitely been good for the channel and helping young people choose a first or second car 😊 Shows it is a reliable car :) You managed the car for this long which is great and will be good if you can make more videos of the car when you can!
Have an 04 VW Polo 1.4tdi Dune, been a good little car, got 110k on the clock, added an Android head unit, some ambient, lighting, steering wheel remote switches for the Android unit and a HUD unit so I can just get on with the driving, all put in with care and no wires showing, took a 24 year old car and just took some years of it inside, outside is standard, no changes done to it here. This little gem is just good honest transport for me.
Polo is looking fresh mate. I am very much looking forward to in the next few months getting my first car and doing things like this, will be easier than driving my parents as I have been for the past year.
Ah it’s the best man, even though the whole weekend (and time before that in planning) was dedicated to this effort, it was all a bunch of fun! Good luck on the hunt for your first proper car
Thanks for all your content, I have the facelifted 07 9n SE. Been working on my motorbikes for a decade but first car and some things feel alien to me. Got an issue with my central locking, pressing the lock button inside car locks everything but the front passenger door. Going to check the fuses like you did, never thought of that 😅
I tried upgrading car speakers, but was stuck when i found out VW actually bridged the amp and tweeter together which makes adding a crossover difficult. 😢
I have a number of jobs to do on my Mrs MK4 polo Thanks for the inspiration to get hers sorted. Do you have a list of the bulbs you used on yours? Also were they just halogen or did you go led?
Amazing restoration buddy, your Polo looks well rejuvenated again and hopefully we will get to see it at Bristol Volksfest 2024 too! Also I know I keep going on about it, but I absolutely recommend you check Christian Smith's Mk4 Jetta VR6 estate out, I promise if you're into 00's VWs then you'll love it.
Awesome video. Working on cars myself, unless you own a car garage as a business with all the right tools, you really can’t put a time limit on it. Problems can often create problems. I’ve just had to remove the whole dashboard on my R25 just to fix a leak in the bulkhead, nightmare. Keep up the great work 👌🏻✊🏻
The legend returns! Even if it took a little more than 24 hours, that's an impressive amount of work! The lights always make such a huge difference, doing all the bulbs was a great call. I managed to sell 2 cars in 24 hours this month, but no work on those. Just about managed to get new floor mats on my current one, plus finding out that the seat damage isn't repairable. Next task is to get the suspension fixed so it drives in a straight line, getting the armrest fixed and also finding out if the insanely loud exhaust is full chav (in which case I'm keeping it) or has a hole in...going back to a 4-pot, it's hard to tell 🤣 The question is, how much trouble are you in for "hopefully my wife and I can be a little bit less messy in future" - grammatically correct, but saying "me and my wife" is a lot safer for that one 😁
Mate the lights have made night time driving so much kinder to me (and less to everyone else I’m sure lol) - with the added bonus of being able to wipe the grime off of the windscreen now too! Were you sad to see the Porsche go? Re the exhaust let’s hope it’s the former! One problem I couldn’t be bothered to fix is the hole in my exhaust - it’s maybe the 4th time it’s happened on the Polo! Haha she’s not watched the video yet, so incorrect grammar or not I’m currently in the clear!
@@CarsWithJB It's ok if you blind other drivers, since now you can see them coming and avoid their crash 😄 It was a shame to see it go, but I did a back-to-back last drive in it then immediately went out in the Pug - spent 3 miles in the Pug stuck behind a towed Cayman S, so I made the right choice 🤣 I miss it less than I expected honestly. A small hole just makes it sound a bit better! Big hole not so much...mine has equal sound from both sides but the exhaust looks standard, just hoping it's not a dodgy decat or something.
I bought it as part of the kit for the radio - it’s actually not as nice in person as it looks on video, I’m gunna try to find something a bit sturdier!
Thank you for your video! I learned a bit more things to fix nasty stuff on my VW POLO IV too! Btw, on your 23rd point, you can actually pull off some of the "option vents" just up from the radio to pass your cable through this place properly :)
Damn bruv, you are literally a pro for your age 😅 I got no car yet, but I’m planning to learn how to work on one, one step at a time, since I’m in med school now
Haha cheers man! Good luck on the hunt - honestly just getting stuck in is the best way, I don’t know what I’m doing half the time but RUclips videos and forums sort me out 🤙🏽
What is this white red bottle where you remove the scratches and the Blue thing I only Understand „tea Cup“ Could you please try to translate in to German Because I also got some scratches in my car
Hello! I’d be happy to detail the car for you! I used to be a detailer, then left that to become a mechanic, I would love to do another for clean if you’d be happy to travel. 👍
Sorry to be a pain mate 😂 but could you link me the cup holder please mate as I've got a broken left side one in mine but only see the right cupholder side all over ebay and can't find a left hand one 😂 thanks mate, great vid
Recently installed a CarPlay/Android Auto head unit in a 9N. While doing that I found on a German website somewhere that the 9N/3 has a little rectangular cut-out inside the glovebox you can poke and pull out with very little force and pull the male-to-female USB cords plugged into the back of the head unit for wired CarPlay or Android Auto through. If anyone has worked out a more elegant solution than that that doesn’t leave me with another half a foot of USB cable, plus my Lightning cable all loose in the glovebox then let me know 😂
Brother, do a video for new drivers, cheap car, still has some street cred, cheap on insurance, tax and running cost because I am stuck on what to buy for my son after he passed his test, my budget is 6k all in. Maybe 8k if he’s lucky.
No manufacturers make bulb changing easy so you need to go to the dealer or a garage and pay. You need hands of a 5 year old with hulk strength 😂 check the wires through the hatchback coz it’s a Vw fault.
!!! Don't buy that Pioneer car radio/stereo. I had one (Pioneer SPH-DA160DAB should be the same as the one in video, at least looks the same) in my polo for 12 month and it died. Exactly when the warranty expires. And belive me, many people have this problem with the same stereo unit, just google it they all die right after the warranty expires. It starts with white screens and ends with only showing Pioneer logo. No worth it, get a cheap chinese one or make your own one with 3D printer and RaspberryPI...
im not sure if you mean to make one but that car is a real shitbox m8 i dont want to be that guy but the carbon wrapping is quite shit (imho how it looks but the quality aswell lol)

My family tells me don’t buy a car over 10vyears old but I watch you vids and it would save me money and looks just as cool.
This car is the reason I subbed in the first place, and it warms my heart to see that it hasn't been forgotten

Ay appreciate it man! It's a great little car, especially for the money, and with the mods it gives it a new lease of life!

This is great - favourite part of the channel! Lil granny polo is feeling good about herself now 😍
Watches the whole video! Definitely gives me some inspiration for some things to mod and repair in the future, great work matey!
Ay cheers man, glad it could be useful!

Savage - VW seem to do their best to make their interiors spacious and comfortable, but working on them a drag!
Sick vid man, keep up the versatility
Cheers boss, will do my best!
I have a number of jobs to do on my Mrs MK4 polo
Thanks for the inspiration to get hers sorted.

I’ve seen it a couple of times on here - looks super cool slammed! Plus you know I’m a sucker for estates!
Great video man!
Dam now I'm motivated to tidy up my car and do all those little jobs. All those small things add up and really does improve the car.
Have always loved your channel and ethic keep it up man!
Cheers boss I appreciate it!

glad to see some different kind of content
Needed a switch up!
@@CarsWithJB Understandable sticking to one kind of content can get tiring so its good to know that at least you are enjoying what your doing
Where did you get the radio fascia I’m trying to find one I have the exact same car?
I bought it as part of the kit for the radio - it’s actually not as nice in person as it looks on video, I’m gunna try to find something a bit sturdier!

Hey mate, where did you get the build number plaque?😅
Etsy!
Great stuff, well done 👏👏👏
Cheers boss!
Thank you for another upload
Since I'm a learner driver I'm more interested in this vw polo series because I might get the mk4 version or the mk6
Either would be nice - the MK6 is a nice looking car!
I agree the design of is up to date with 2023@@CarsWithJB
bro drove at 100MPH in to a curb with those alloys sheesh 2:21

What is this white red bottle where you remove the scratches and the Blue thing I only Understand „tea Cup“
Could you please try to translate in to German
Because I also got some scratches in my car
T-Cut kratzentferner auf Deutsche!
Did you know you can buy Angel eyes for polo? I'd love to see another polo upgrade with it.
Really enjoyed this one J! 🙂 Awesome content!
Cheers man! Hopefully more to come 🤙🏽
