One thing note about Ace cards is that even if a digimon has an Ace Card as a digivolution source leaves the field, it will STILL suffer the overflow effect. The players needed to be careful of putting those cards in their decks cuz they dont want the opponent to increase their memory during their turn especially cards such as blitz or a destroy spell.
@tyrandgg345 it's what makes them a double edge sword. Also not just destroy skills or options but skills that de-digivole or strip sources from a digimon.
@@kennethbowie1828 Well that's MetalTyrannomon's Digivolution skill if a Mega Level that has it as one of the Digimon it digivolved from deletes another Mega Level and survives it can unsuspend and attack again and this keeps happening until there's no more Mega Levels on the opponent's side of the field.
To be fair, Tyrannomon was a horrible match up. The tokens became food for the Rust to continue attacking. To take in consideration if you ever play agains the tyranno deck.
I think I like the ACE cards- a good way to stonewall your opponent if they're getting too big for their britches, and a good "risk VS reward" mechanic with ACE Overflow.
diaboromon had lethal if they had swung with one of the tokens first instead of the diaboromon ACE, so I don"t think that the matchup is that bad for them.
@@crazydevs121 Minus the inheretible that gives the opponent the ability to board wipe every turn. The match may have gone well, but the matchup itself is unfavorable. The opponent, and I guess green in general has a card that counter Diaboromon's entire gameplan.
@@joshsolders5543 nah not at all, in a non piloted game i doubt Diaboromon would lose, now the Ace Diaboromon use Wisemon on play on purpose to counter lots of plays, plus i don't know why he didn't suspend Arata to spawn 2 more tokens when he used the ACE it would have increased the number of Diaboromon in play.
@@Vanon35435 Its a your turn effect. Also, you are saying to use a top deck search to counter plays? Unless you are saying AncientWisemon who is a lvl 6 that is high investment. The kurisarimon with decoy might help with this though.
@@joshsolders5543 Oh yes true Arata is not all turns, i saw a lot of people in JP meta using AncientWisemon a lot as an investement since you don't really the the entire line downwards. That being said i didn't notice these 2 decks particularry doing good in the meta even tho i like Diaboromon quite a bit.
as someone who wanted to play this game but is still waiting for a online version of it, thank you very much for this video series, this channel is the best way i found of not only seeing the game in action but also watching how the game has evolved since it started. i have recommended the channel to all my friends and im looking forward to your videos.
Your not goa get to play the game anytime soon, if at all then. I'd expect if you hold off to long, it'll be like yugioh master duel. You'll have to learn 5 plus years worth of cards, and get steam rolled in online meta players.
Yo love the video and your channel @CardProtagonist. I built RustTyrannomon a while for casual and have been loving it ever since so, when I saw ol' Rusty on the thumbnail I just had to tune in.
One thing I wanted to add, in the ruling, is that the ACE portion is just a label for ACE mechanic. However, the ACE part doesn't count in its name. So when you digivolved into Diaboromon ACE, you could've suspended Arata Sanada to create 2 more Diaboromon tokens. That was the only miss play I saw, and Diaboromon could have won with the 2 extra tokens you would have gotten. Other than that, it was a great game! Thank you for the content!
Late reply, but he could have made 2 more tokens from sanada when he attacked with diaboromon ace. Since attacking spawns the token and all. It wouldn't have helped because they would have been suspended either way, but it's good to know :)

Shouldn't Diaboromon's When Digivolving effect at 7:40 and RustTyrannomon's at 9:20 not have activated because Armageddomon stops digivolution abilities of cost 7 or higher digimon during All Turns? I don't know the rulings, so genuinely asking.

slowly getting into this tcg but hearing them stand and draw when the turn starts just reminds me of cardfight vanguard, which is the game im coming from to play this one

have a question: bt 14 dinorex says my opponent cant play 6k or less when he has 1 or more mem... what happens when he has 3 mem and play flame hellsytch pass memory to me is he allowed to play a digimon with it...?
If you decide to build it, the odds you'll actually want to run bt2 metaltyrannomon are low. Sadly it's only if you run over a LV6+ you get the extra swing.
It's because they were all lv6s if it's not a field full of megas you probably get 1 extra attack VS most other decks. Normally 2 lv6 on the opposite site is game before you can stop them.
Arata only being able to use on your turn really doesn't help much with the new Diaboromon card. Though it would be pretty busted to just wipe some ones field on their turn ;P
Dang, that combination of effects really hurts Diaboromon... if there weren't so many Digimon on that side of the board,, Tyrannomon definitely couldn't have closed out the game so quickly! Piercing and unsuspending every time you delete a Digimon against a bunch of low DP Digimon is so rough.

Another day of me wishing for modern Diaboro support from Bandai in a newer set. At least the training cards help search for tamers and with Overflow the 4 cost Catastrophy Cannon seems more worth adding.
Lowkey I think that was just a bad match up considering diablomon's gimmick was spamming copies of itself like in the movie which gave rust a shit ton of lv6s to destroy.
I love Tyrannomon, but yeah this felt like the tyrannomon deck was built to counter this deck total. Unfortunately it wouldn't have gone well VS most other decks. I consider bt2 Metal, and Rust unplayable for what they do. Metal is more so a cheap vanilla, and Rust is 11k to small, and tapping a 5k isn't good enough.
Talk about utter annihilation with RustTyrannomon.. Those new ACE cards are gonna be interesting, but because of the overflow effect, I feel that depending on the level, I see that either 1-2 of the same ACE card will be sorted into the deck.

Maybe seraphimon or maybe Dominimon if it makes it into the tcg. Since it's appearing in the BE Memory soon.

That's called blast digivolve, new mechanic from "ACE" card, there are plenty ACE card in the game.
It's like a handtrap version of digimon tcg.
Blast evolution is based off of an evolution of the same name in digimon world 3 on the ps1
