Great Video. One nit-pick I have is how you've put the Infantry Squad 2IC as the Vox Operator. The Vox Operator will need to stick with the Squad Leader to allow him to communicate with the Platoon Command element whereas the 2IC needs to be free to lead part of the section in the absence of the Squad Leader. Also, if the Squad Leader is incapacitated the 2IC then has to act as the vox operator whilst also leading the squad which is too much of a burden.
I think you was slightnly negative about the Cadian Whiteshields. "Children you call them? They can pull a trigger just as well as veterans, and they have the spirit of a bull narthax. Call them children if you wish - I call them troops. Good troops." - Colonel Marus Cullen, 5th Pannonia Regiment Also! "Only those Whiteshields who distinguished themselves in battle are allowed to become Guardsmen proper. " Can't forget most of these "Kids" are from military famliles, already are cadets (Space scouts?) and grew up on a military world. (1)warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Whiteshields
Question about the Squad Leader Ranks, when you are listing them off from Master Sergeant down to Corporal, are these the examples of squad leader from various squads? i.e. One squad will have a master sergeant, one will be led by a Staff Sergeant, and so on until the remaining squads in are all commanded by Corporals. Or are they all the potential ranks that could be held?
Thanks for the question... it’s from highest to lowest ranks within a Platoon. So if there’s 6 squads in a platoon it would be lead by a Master Sergeant, and the remaining lowest ranks would be Corporals. If there’s 3 squads in a Platoon however, it would always have a 1 Corporal Leading a single Sqaud. So the 1st squad for example is lead by a Staff Sergeant, sergeant, then Corporal, all teams or sections etc (except for StormTroopers) are lead by a Lance Corporal. 🙂
I’m painting my imperial army now. Question, are the right shoulder pad red and gray lines forward or rearward facing? The picture of the guy standing seems to show it forward facing but your armor pictures make it seem it’s rearward facing
Hello,i really enjoy your videos within this series! But something that i have been wondering about is the aquila pattern helmet, now i have been playing WH40K Darktide, and in that game, you have alot of helmet models and patterns that look similar to the aquila pattern, but these other helmets have different names like, "Conclave" "Navis Imperalis" "Kantrael" and "Graia" just to name a few, do you have any thoughts regarding this? Is this indicitive that copies of the original aquila design exist? If you feel inclined, feel free to leave an answer! Also thank you yet again for your awesome videos!
Glad you enjoy my videos… tbh the Cadian Helmet designs was influenced simply for the forge world models as I really liked the different alternatives regarding their equipment. 🙂

This isn't tabletop accurate, correct? Squads can't take a mortar, for example? Or flamers and snipers- you mentioned that as a potential weapon one time and then dropped it.
Wee comment. Whiteshields do not lack discipline or motivation. Cadians have been training to fight the enemies of mankind since birth. The recruitment rate and birthrate are equal on Cadia. (Or was.) The only reason that recruits become whiteshilds first is cause they have no battlefield experience. That doesn't mean that they couldn't outclass any other guardsman. The only way they can be considered guardsmen is by surviving combat. That's it. Cadian children are taught to strip, assemble and shoot and shoot a Lasgun before they are taught how to write. I would wager a Cadian whiteshield is better trained than any other guardsman of the same age. Though maybe not Catachan. They are equal.
You do have a good point Mark, I was to harsh I do admit when it talking about the Whiteshields... but sometimes making them look bad as a commander makes them better fighters as they want to prove their point in the fight.😎😎😎 I think I judged them by the rule book rather than narrative, as Whiteshields are LD5 as compared to LD7-8 for other more disciplined troopers🙂
Would be nice if you put a picture of your own minis alongside the diagrams, you have the minis already
I’ll hopefully be doing videos like that when showcasing my imperial guard. 😎

That’s very true... i agree I should of clarified a bit better lol! 🙈🙈🙈 thanks for the feedback. 👍
Really enjoy watching these. Would love to see how the regiments/platoons are set out.
Thank you🙂.... I’m excited as well when it comes to making that particular video as well... should be very interesting. 👍
Always fun to learn about other Armys and lore in general. Looking forward to seeing more stuff.
Thank you. Glad you liked the content. 👍

I do admit I was a little to harsh in the vid with regards to Whiteshields. I’m a big fan of them don’t you worry. 😎😎😎👍”Cadia Stands.”
These videos are amazing. Good work.
Thank you bud😃 glad you like the content. 😃
Tnx for your work
Great James, keep it up! Look out for the GW price increases in a week's time if you're after reinforcement!
Thank you Matthew. 😊👍 yeah I’ll keep a look out. 😊
"Gun Babies". Not because they are literal children, but because they lack discipline.
That is why I love 40k.
The Title: ‘Gun baby’ makes me laugh as well... 🤣🤣🤣

Good question.... Yeah the red is at the front, and the grey would be behind... 😊

How likely is it that a PDF would follow this same style of organisation?

@@18thCadianArmyGroup That isn't really an answer
If I played war hammer I would of said screw it and used the white shield squad hehe
This isn't tabletop accurate, correct? Squads can't take a mortar, for example?
Or flamers and snipers- you mentioned that as a potential weapon one time and then dropped it.
It does sound odd I know the feeling mate, but I’ve done it in respect of the core rules and narrative. 😊
It irks me that the heavy weapon squads do not have an ammo bearer
What you said was a very good point 👍

@@18thCadianArmyGroup that makes sense. Dodnt mean my comment to sound harsh. It was a good idea to go by the rule book tho.

You've earned a promotion, Guardsmen!
Lol!
@@18thCadianArmyGroup damn straight that was one ticket out of canon fodder duty lol
When are going to have a video on the armoured sections of your force?
