Official and sandman corrected the translation on garling's title. He was a hero/champion of god valley according to sandman and according to the official he is someone who became a distinguished figure during god valley

Sandman actually isn’t that good at translating contrary to popular belief. There’s Japanese people in KOL discord who clarified. The term refers to a “ kingly figure who would lead into battle” so it’s unclear, but it implies royalty. It’s possible it’s propaganda that on the WG side he’s seen as the man who stood up for the CDragons, or it means God Valley had some Coliseum of a sort

This needs to be pinned ASAP. This heavily implies that Shanks is from a lineage of Celestials that are amazing fighters. Which also somewhat makes the theory that Mihawk being an orphan and taking in by the Figarland family more possible than before.
Since you mentioned the french revolution, there is a thought i had since some time in my mind. The Castle, or more the whole system in mary joa reminds me of versaille in France. Which was constructed in its glamorous form during the reign of Louis 14 - the sun king - who saw himself as the center of power or the center of the world. The parallel that got my attention was that Louis used versaille as his court and enforced new laws that all the nobles in france had to resign their birthlands and castles and move to his court in versaille. This allowed Louis to have more controle over the lords in france and made rebellion against him less likely. In this regard the celestial dragons are quiet similair, all of them gave up their kingdoms and moved to mary joa (where there is a big castle in which Imu lives and has the control over all of them and then world🤔)
And also during the reign of louis 14 in around 1660 france became the dominant marine power, which fits nicely with one piece
when shanks goes to marijois to meet the gorosei, the side of his face that had the scar wasn't shown at all. if that was shanks' twin, the leader of the god knights (subordinate to supreme commander figardland), this explains why he was granted audience to the five elders

My theory is that there is even a hierarchy among celestial dragons. Let's say gorosei families at the top, roswald and charloss family near top or middle, etc. And the Don Quixote family is at the bottom for whatever reason. They are looked down upon by other celestials which is why they can relate more to normal people then other celestials and why so many of them are decent, or have the ability to be decent.

Figarland which was the king seeking to execute the daughter for bringing disgrace upon his family name by get pregnant for the infamous rocks which we know is a pirate. I think it’s a young Garling in the gods knight silhouette. It would make sense that Dragon is remembering a younger group of Gods Knights since it seems like no one has seen them for so long. Maybe it’s a further confirmation of their relationship as a young Garling looks similar to shanks when he was younger.

I can see him being shanks uncle, and shanks dad was another celestial dragon who was morally good and paid the price for it. Would explain garlings stance about protecting scum as well

Shanks is a twin cast out because he’s the younger of them and probably his red hair also. If I remember correctly twins were seen as a bad omen so it would make sense, similar to the story of the first sun breather in demon slayer.

I believe that, When we saw Shanks talking to the Gorosei, that wasn't Shanks it was his brother and his brother was the silhouette we saw in the middle of the God's Knight's. Forgive me if I'm wrong but when we saw "Shanks" talking to the Gorosei we never saw his scar from Blackbeard because we were looking at his face from the other side. Shanks has a twin brother it makes too much sense
If you look at the legs of the silhouettes what we are seeing is their backs. They are walking away not front posing. So whit this in mind, the middle figure does look like Garling.

I don't think the official chapter said anything about Figarland Garling being the former king of God Valley. The TCB Scans version mentioned him being the former king, but the official translation said "The man who passed the sentence was a dominating figure who once distinguished himself at a place called God Valley."

In my community a lot of people are mad about the introduction of the Holy Knights labeling it as an Asspull out of nowhere but Im really happy the enemies got another group of possibly strong fighters. The WG + Navy looked way weaker than the pirates.

I believe that Figarland mirrors Spandam, like Figarland, Spandam was the leader of the CP9 unit but over all it was Robb Lucci who was the strongest Kenpo user. Figarland is the commander of the holy knights but he isn't necessarily the strongest but he may be the best strategist of the the commander knights compare to Spandam. In conclusion I think Oda is throwing us off with the silhouette of the holt knights but not really at the same time. Another thing to think of is that the elders basically mentions that they are not the same as they were younger so Figarland is in the same boat. ( Btw is a theory, an anime theory lol)

Garp is 59 years older than his grandson. Pound is 48 years older than his. Assuming the Figarland family has a similar turnover rate, Shanks’ grandfather would be 87-98. Doubt Figarland is that old
Warning this is long (sorry) but this isn't a rant. Just some of my own ideas along with things I think you may be wrong on and things I agree with you on that you cover in this.
Garling can't be determined to be Shanks' father, grandfather or other based on Garling's age or based on that Garling was king during the God Valley incident. Here's why: In my opinion, it's possible based on real life history that a King can be on the throne as young as an infant. However, when a ruler is as young as 10 years old, it's common to make up for this by the child ruler to have advisors or other family members (like a parent or older sibling or uncle or aunt) being co-rulers until the ruler is old enough to take charge as the sole ruler. And men, including King's could easily have kids from early teen years to older age - there's no rule really for what age Shanks' father was when Shanks' was born. It's a bit early to tell what relation Garling is exactly to Shanks. Also just because Garling isn't in the silhouettes of God's Knight's doesn't mean much because we don't know how many there are. It's possible there are sixteen since I've heard that's a possible significant number that is part of one of Doflamingo's attacks and Doflamingo seems obsessed with his heritage, so it makes sense he'd try to embrace as much of it as possible even though the Celestial Dragons refuse to give him back his place among them because of his father's choices. He's even used a gun when he had no need for it and it's fairly weak in comparison to his own power but like the Celestial Dragons, he still uses one out of spite or to cruelly fire at anyone he dislikes. I agree that Garling likely isn't the strongest of God's Knights, being commander doesn't always indicate strength, sometimes the commander/judge is someone with experience and seniority more so than strength. Not to say he still isn't strong, he likely still has quite a bit of power based on what we've seen from Garp even though it's likely as you say that Garling could be pre-Garp era. But I don't know what they actual ages are of those characters and their peers & predecessors so it's hard to tell for me. I don't want to assume that the age difference between Sengoku & Garp compared to the previous Fleet Admiral is even half of what the gap is between Garp and Koby. Ranking in the Marine's clearly isn't based on age (as it shouldn't) so I hesitate to do the same with other groups like royal families or God's Knights.
I agree that the silhouette you talk about is likely the strongest person in God's Knights and that it does resemble Shanks. Which part of why I suspect two possibilities due to that silhouette and the Garling's name & title as the previous King of God Valley:
1. Shanks possibly has a brother that is either a twin or strongly resembles him - he may also be the one who truly had an audience with the Gorosei before.
2. If two Figarland family members are part of God's Knights, I wonder if God's Knights is entirely made up of Figarland family members.
We know very little on the culture and ways of the Celestial Dragons. Until the latest chapter I'm sure we were all shocked that any of them could be sentenced to death by one of their own since almost all were shown to be selfish, cruel, hedonistic and having the right to do anything they want. But I guess they would be the worst if they didn't have a system that kept some order among themselves to settle internal disputes. That system got M-whatever his name was- sentenced to death. I'm also very curious as to how Shanks came into Roger's care in more detail.
Marie Antoinette never said that line about cake by the way. Historians agree that line was anti-royal propaganda. But it could still have been used by Oda to hint at something. I am hoping for a God Valley flashback in the story in the way we got a Wano flashback from Oden's perspective which also included his time with Whitebeard & Roger. It doesn't have to be as extensive or detailed as that one but to learn a bit more about the Figarland family. I also can't help but consider one thing that just occurred to me: Garling was the King of God Valley. Doflamingo said his Celestial Dragon family were the royals of Dressrosa before Riku & his family after his own family ascended to live as Celestial Dragons - which meant all of their kingdoms needed new royals. That said, if the Figarlands are Celestial Dragons as they're clearly depicted as, maybe Garling isn't the king in the sense we think. Maybe 'King of God Valley' simply implies the Figarland's were the royal family of God Valley rather than Garling being the King of God Valley. The Celestial Dragons become who they are by 'ascending' to Mary Geoise about 800 years prior to the present events in One Piece. And it's clear Kings are seen as beneath (commoners in comparison) Celestial Dragons especially by their own kind. So how could it have been possible for Garling himself to be a King? It must've simply been stated to establish the Figarland's as the original royal family of God Valley. I'm very interested to know what significance God Valley had/has to Celestial Dragons for them to have been there when the Rocks Pirates clashed with Roger & Garp. Why is it no longer on any map? Was it destroyed by the pirates in the same way the Straw Hats destroyed Enies Lobby? Does it still exist today like Punk Hazard? If so what is/was the purpose of God Valley? The only thing we know it that God Valley was allegedly in West Blue - the sea Shanks claims to be from. If he was with Roger from infant age, can we really say he's from any particular sea?
Back to Shanks having an audience with the Gorosei. Shanks' true lineage if he is indeed a Figarland, give a bit more weight to the possibility that Shanks may have a brother that is strikingly similar to him in appearance, perhaps even a twin (maybe even a fraternal twin that has different skin or hair color). If that person exists, he's likely the silhouette you discuss as the center figure of God's Knights & the strongest among them. If it was Shanks' brother in a meeting with the Gorosei, maybe him being alone and in a cloak where we see nothing recognizable was to mislead us into thinking the person was Shanks when it wasn't. Because of the cloak we can't see his sandaled feet, his red hair or his missing arm. And the close up of his face in the meeting, the only time we see any part of him, it happens to be the side of his face without his scars. Before, Shanks' scars have always been on display for us to see and now they're suspiciously hidden. Perhaps because they aren't there to begin with. If Shanks were wearing the cloak for the meeting, we could dismiss it as Shanks being discreet as a courtesy to hide an Emperor meeting with the Gorosei. But maybe it was to hide his true identity from the readers. The appears to be Shanks but clearly isn't. Which further begs the question of what the topic of the meeting was about all over again. Fascinating.

Wow that would be a great Parallel too. Sanji was an outcast because he was born with his moms blonde hair color meaning he was a normal human. Shanks being born with red hair, which is out of the ordinary from his blonde family, was outcasted because he was born with different hair as well which is why they emphasize “red hair” shanks. Also sanji was a prince so it’s a step up for shanks being a celestial dragon.
Is it possible that Dragon knew about the God knights from back in the day and has an image of them from back then so he doesn't know about the new hairstyle.

I always thought and still think that Kizaru is the strongest admiral(light losing to ice, lava, or nature makes no sense while gravity is possible though). Never thought he was the strongest character in One Piece however.

It could make sense that one of the admirals would be something else or a part of the another group. Maybe Kizaru is an admiral because it allows him to do his job as Holy Knight without revealing that he is one. It would not be the first time someone was given a title only for that not to be the real their one

Ever since this chapter I had three theories going on,
#1 I think God valley may have been a place where Celestial dragons have their wives give birth or their slaves give birth to their sires and Shanks was born from a slave woman
#2 I think I have something to confirm that A) Imu is female and B) the eternal youth surgery may give you immortality but not your body, so you have to transfer to a new body, the reason I think all this is because I don't recall seeing any female Celestial dragons, heck we haven't seen Shalria in god-knows-how-long
#3 it's not my theory but I agree with it I think Eggheads going to be Franky teaching Vegapunk to take responsibility for your creations, which giving York he's going to learn that lesson the hard way.

Whats also interesting about the image with the blonde haired shanks is, that the mythical tiger in the background share similar eyes to Imu. But not only his eyes also his mouth reminded me of the panel where Imu swallowed the flame attack from sabo. Additionally the tiger also has a Tail that is really special (tbf not arrow shaped tho). It would be interesting if Imu would have this mythical zoan df or a df inspired by this tiger, which oda has showed us a long time ago. SO not only shanks relative would have been foreshadowed but also Imus powers

Shanks is a Yonko and leader of the Holy Knights in God valley, that's why he can call a meeting with the 5 Elders. He can pretty much tell Kaido hey stay here, and so on and so on. That is Shanks my friend.
Maybe the reason they tried to “dispose” of baby shanks is cause he’s a bastard child. What if he’s the son of some high ranking figarland women in a family, who had an affair with someone, (reaching, but imagine it’s xebec) or any other pirate, but I don’t think it would be just any pirate. I’m just thinking that based off the idea, okay why would they throw out a baby shanks, assuming he didn’t just crawl into the chest that roger found. Another possibility would be that his mother didn’t want him growing up as a celestial dragon and sent him away on rogers ship. It would explain why shanks was able to meet with the gorosei, because he wouldn’t be just any celestial dragon like doffy. Like there’s be no way they would meet with doffy. But because he could be the son of a figarland (woman), I feel that that would put him in that position to meet with them.

Reasons :
1. Roger > Garling. As an apprentice Shanks must have reached or surpassed Roger at this point.
2. Roger didnt have a mentor like himself when he was young. But Shanks had Roger, Rayleigh, Gaban.

The fodder is gonna die sleeping with all the Conqueror's Haki bursts in the final war. But I feel there is one more level of Conqueror's Haki that Luffy is going to awaken. And that's gonna set everyone else aside. Probably, only Rocks and Roger had that.
