Unclogging Culvert After Flooding Rain To Drain Flooded Roadway

- I do not encourage anyone to enter culverts, unclog anything, or enter flooded areas as it can easily become deadly without the proper training
I unclog drains for fun in my spare time (I have been trained in culvert inspections for years with private co.) and I am osha trained.
Exploring anything abandoned can be dangerous or deadly without experience. I don't encourage anyone to enter any abandoned structures. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal, and when possible I seek out permission from the owner or local police. I simply go to document its history before it's gone forever and I leave things the way I find them. I only take pictures and only leave footprints. I assume all the risks and responsibility before doing this. Please don't attempt to do this on your own. There could be nails, asbestos, falling concrete, soft floors, animals, or other hazards. Thanks for watching.

Do an April fools joke where you reverse a video and it shows you clogging drain. And comment on it about how it will now flood the road and help dry up the streams 😂
😂🤣 caught me just right, fell out laughing. Witty~
He's done this 😆
@@callmeshaggy5166 I wish I could find that. That would take a while to find since he has so many.
Didn't he do that already
Yea you you you you you should music made by 11137
I laugh when you talk about those "angry beavers" or "beavers gonna be angry". I appreciate your passion and concern. You give a great service. Thank you for caring!
Hard work this one, everyone likes the idea of clearing a culvert where you stay relatively dry and just rake it. You soaked yourself to the bone to get this one done, the hero we need.
I love how the "Professional" culvert cleaners need giant machine's (and still do a terrible job half the time), while post 10 just needs a rake and does it right.
Technically post 10 is a professional! He is trained in culvert things
He’s the most powerful among them.
@@toaster1279 he keeps his amateur status to compete in the Culverlymipcs though
Part of it is a time factor, theoretically the DOT should clear a culvert in under 3min and then clear a bunch, where as Post10 is just after the fun of clearing them (and good video footage).
The biggest problem is when the "professional" has been there before him and destroyed the culverts! He is not allowed to cut off the damaged ends, unfortunately...
I’ve enjoyed all the videos of you unclogging culverts that had beaver dams built in them but I’d like to see you unclog city drains like your early stuff too. That’s what originally drew me to your channel and it’d be nice to see some of that again.
He's stated a few times recently that he doesn't really unclog the city drains much anymore because he literally took care of the problem.
not to mention that given the long drought, there wasn't enough water to cause flooding recently anyway
@@drb3nway Also, there was a long drought. Can't unclog anything if there is no rain!
@@NecramoniumVideo New England has been in a bad drought for most of the second half of summer, we even had a storm drop up to 5in in some places and it barely reduced the drought stage. (It was an all day event, and the heaviest rain was in southern CT)
I'm hoping he managed to get some unclogging footage from that storm, although he has managed to put enough pressure (from shame) on the DOT to actually keep the streets clear of debris so the drains work.
You could unclog your own ?
I'm so glad videos like these can still be found online. I can watch guys going around doing the free mowing also. Stuff like that is a refreshing change of pace from the normal garbage they are trying to influence you with at every corner. There are enough cool people out there just doing useful and altruistic things to keep one entertained. That type of influence is only a good thing.
I do appreciate the sticks randomly cleaning the smudges on the camera lens, shoutout to the sticks for doing their part in making quality content.

I thought the same! They worked together perfectly! 😂
All hail the Stick of Cleaning
Man 🤣
@@venom69102 what up dude I'm Brian from St Louis
@@brianmaxei8898 yo buddy how's Meg?
Wow - that second culvert had an incredible clog in it! Your new rake seems to be doing the job very well. Thanks again for the great content!
That new rake is cool!
How did you post this comment 13 days ago if this video was posted an hour ago?
@@Damidas Yeah, why is that?🤔🤔🤔🤔
Maybe they're a Patreon so he got to see it privately before it was made public
I'd almost say that's more a 'cultivator' with that tine shape/number.
All right - what kind of weird nerdy person gets such a hoot and sense of fascination watching stuff like this?? (We all raise hands!) Excellent!!
I would definitely buy a "beavers will be angry" t-shirt
When the stick knocked the water droplet off the lens finally 👀
"Hopefully an angry Beaver isn't around...." As we hear the theme song from the movie 'Jaws' playing.....
One of the things I love about your videos is when you talk you are talking to the viewers like they are right there with you. Only downside of that is I forget I am watching a video and go to mention something and realize I am talking to a monitor. Great video as always!
We, the citizens of Austin, Texas, need a hero like you. Love yea Post 10
I love your kindness to small animals.
He’s a good example
Er, he's in combat with beaver.
I can’t even explain to you how much I genuinely LOVE these videos!
Could almost go white water rafting down that culvert after you got to it!😂😂
What is a squidbilly hillbilly ?
Keep your paws off those beavers
"It's never an adventure without a spider friend."
truly something to live by :)
Unless you live in Australia…..spider friends aren’t so friendly here 😝😂
I was so happy when you stepped to the side because I could see the current getting very strong. You do exercise great safety .
This is exactly why I watch this channel , this dude makes it work.
Nice to see you can finally get back to doing what you love to do after the drought. 😊
Do you ever just think to yourself....I wish I hadn't started this one?😂
It amazes me how much those beavers pack into a culvert!!
Your videos are popular because they are peaceful. A lot of videos are all about stress and problems and conflict and worry. Watching you unclog pipes is relaxing. And there is something satisfying about watching the water start flowing.
This man really does suffer for his art... But we are so glad he does!
It’s so satisfying to see the water start to flow, and I love the compassion you have for any little creatures you find. 💕
Another incredible video. Keep watching your back for those angry beavers!!!
It's times like this when you showcase what I really want to see...your safety after we see what you see as you remove debris
Thank you for all your hard work, and for still reading the comments even though you said it hurts your eyes. Your content always cheers me up.
Love the moment when it gets going ! Also when you check for angry beavers !
Admittedly don't watch much of these, but honestly think you do one of the thankless jobs out there. So good on ya for finding a way to help show what you do for the state!
I love how you never give up if it can be done then you do it.
Man I love these videos. They bring me so much calm and peace I can't even explain it. I saw some of the unclogging videos a couple of years ago and then forgot about them for some reason. I'm really glad to see new stuff, keep it going!
Post, that new rake is a beast. I love watching you rip stuff apart with it in half the time of the garden rake.
I'm really glad to see you enjoying using the cultivator, rather than the Garden rake. I've been a professional gardener for 15 years and it is my favorite tool.
Or referred to as a potato rake . I believe I had mentioned how long ago . In these endeavors to use one rather than the hard garden rake for city drains , etc. Bully Tools makes many different garden / digging tools , USA .
Man the difference you made was amazing.
And the difference in the look of the outflow wow.
New to your channel April 24. I've binge watched fir the past 2 days. Never seen a man so happy in his work!
The beavers don't have to work so hard the excavators will do the job for them.. great video as always your dedication is tremendous!
That's one hell of a satisfying unclog. Great work Post 10!
Massive clog! My god man, I was worried every second there'd be a sudden suction carrying you away to the ocean, because of what you've said about whirlpools...
glad you survived.😺
Gotta watch out for that delta p because when it’s gotcha it’s gottcha
You are something else ... I don't know anyone who would do this as a job and get paid to do it besides doing what you do for fun. Keep on being you and having fun.
just found you on here.i'm loving it, love your passion and ty for ur hard work. we need u in scotland xxx
You do incredible work and seem to know your culverts ! Someone I know lives up in Auburn, Indiana and their country road floods to where they have to shut it down -they live on 6,000 block county rd 43 -they can’t go to work and I told them they need ‘ post 10 ‘ out there to figure their mess out -lol. Love all your videos and please look up this area if you have time -thanks for all you do
Your knowledge of how the battle of the culverts vs the beavers is constantly being waged is fascinating. Not as simple as I had imagined. Be careful out there. 🙏
Just wondering ... have you ever been attacked by an angry beaver while you have been working?
I just love how you keep looking over your shoulder, going "man, I hope I don't see any angry beavers coming!" lol
Yeah check his past videos out😂
Hard work and dedication on display here. Highest respect to you. Thank you!
I absolutely love your content. So peaceful amd calming .
I couldn't believe how much stuff was in that culvert! Thanks for this interesting video.
When it comes to beavers, it's crazy. They aren't called Nature's Construction Workers for nothing! They don't play around
Another awesome video, thank you for bringing us along your adventure again.
That looked hard work well done mate. Great video many thanks. Chris from England.
Thanks for all the work you do! You're awesome!
It's so good to hear that you've had some rain. We were in the same position here in England.
🙂👍
I was one (of I am sure many) who recommended that rake. I’m so glad it’s working!
I love it how you keep going till its totally cleared some people would just get it flowing then leave it. Good on you for doing this and keeping the roads from washing away.
Crayfish "I believe I can fly..." Thanks for looking after the small locals. Until those culverts are mended, you've got a job for life!
Nice to see you using the potato rake! It looks like it is much easier. I kinda miss you doing the street drains lol. I always love watching the rushing water! Well done!
Thank you for another great video. It was nice to see you handle that little gray fish. Love you and your lady.
So proud of you for taking safety first before a video but do enjoy watching your videos
Thanks for the safety tip midway through, I think that’s important because many folks will want to get out and do some good like you, but not have the training you do.
It would be interesting to have a video on safety at work
Love your content post 10. I'm glad to hear you guys got rain.
You worked so hard on this one. Thank you for making amazing videos. Keep up the great work!
That chevy ahead of you was taking them bumps hard lmao.. back end went flying up 🤣..Absolutely love both of your channels.. glad I stumbled upon this channel a while ago well worth it for sure..
You work very hard. I admire you for what you do. We don't have beavers here in Australia. But we do have other issues to deal with.
Love this video thank you for sharing with us.
You really immerse yourself in your work!
😂😂
Great video!
Thanks Post!
👍👍👍👊😎
I watch these videos at night or on weekends to calm down or ease anxiety, or to just help me relax. They are always interesting and also heart warming.
I could never go into water like that! I give you props for being able to do that.
I just keep thinking about snakes in there tbh
There are no poisonous snakes in Maine
These videos are so satisfying/relaxing.
You are a true earth angel. god bless you, David. x
Dude, I always go to the North Maine Woods every year to canoe. Thank you so much for these videos. We love them.
Love your vids
I love watching your videos - but I have to say that I always feel better when you have your friend with you.
I think i am going to do what you do in my neck of the woods. I never thought it would be enjoyable to watch but it is. Just like the dude who mows crazy lawns. Thanks!
Amazing sacrifice of dry boots, pants, and ball bag, for the good of all the Maine folks who use that road .My hats of to you are state hero when you're gone and in heaven I imagine a statue of you with your boots on and you're mighty rake great job
Aw, Culvert Man you got into the water FULLY CLOTHED and no Wader Boots !! Oh Boy !! I call that dedication.
Quite a few places are going or were going through drought, same in Texas and then some are getting floods so it varies. We had a good downpour the end of June and then one small rain in August, and another several inches a few days after that - so it did get to soak in better because of the short rain. Had a house in the subdivision get struck by lightning, I think it got their electrical because they have to fix it all from building to interior. Good job on the clog.
Hurray! A good beaver blockage to unblock. Nice work. Thank you for throwing yourself into the pond for our enjoyment.
Love watching your channel, so satisfying.
Actually getting to unclog a drain, been rare.
Ive been waiting for you to get some rain! I enjoy watching you work. Question: how you liking that new(ish) rake?
Watched one video and now I’m subscribed … your videos be so satisfying in a way
Love seeing the northern spruce and swamp/bogs! Used to canoe in northern MN, miss it a lot.
Thank you for another great video and imparting some of your knowledge of culvert placement and clearing them,Post. I hope you bring a change of clothes (or two) when you get that wet. (Or ditch your shirt so it is dry) Hope your vehicle survived those bumps.:-)
Veo el torrente del otro lado y pienso en los bosques y campos que se alivian con el calor que tuvieron ! Gracias por hacerlo !!!
That current looked powerful. Glad you didn’t get sucked in. Great video
The beavers aren't messing around, but neither is my man Post 10. Love what you do.
Belo trabalho, rapaz! Parabéns!
Why is it when he said 'I hope there's not an angry beaver around' I just pictured a beaver slowly surfacing behind him and pulling out a switch blade? XD
74 years old and guess I'm still a tomboy, because I loved watching this!
😂I can say the same about genuinely loving these videos! Strangely satisfying..Plus I’m learning about things I didn’t even think about.
Great job, Sir! We need a "Rake Cam" for a job like this 🙂
In some other unclogging you mentioned that it was dangerous for you to stand in front of the culvert especially with such volume of water…was this not the case here? Please stay safe and healthy and thank for sharing these videos. 🙏🙏
Totally agree 💯
I just made a similar comment.
I was thinking that the moment he started feeling unsafe is when he'd get out and let it drain back a bit.
He is so knowledgeable
It's far worse if the culvert is under the surface because there's no air gap and it starts siphoning.
You did some hard work.thank you so much young man.
cant waiot for this one xxxxxI seriously hope ypu have got some dry trousers and undergarments so you can get warm and dry xx debbie xx those damd excavator drivers need sacking !!!! walk dont ya mean slosh slosh .....this is one of the best culvert unblock ever ..... it never ceases to amaze me at what the beavers actually put down the culvert to block it
Really enjoy the videos
Here’s an idea
Put the camera on a small boat and send it through the cleared culvert
Hello from Tennessee
Your definently a hard worker, you should go to college for beaver ponds control service
He should teach how to.
We all trust what you tell us. In the future it would be nice to see what you are talking about with how fast the current is going. So it gives us a perspective of what is happening.. Thank you for what you do.
I really love your videos, they are so peaceful in a way I can't explain and also interesting.
I didn't know crayfish could fly 🤣
They’re just cray cray
The nurse in me sees you doing these "dives" and it makes me anxious that you're going to get an infected cut or some waterborne illness. I know you know what you are doing and probably are well-versed in safety here, but it low key stresses me out sometimes lol.
I'm a retired Nurse but feel the same way.
A friend of mine ended up in the hospital, because he drank some water out of stream that was dark stain water and ended up getting very sick from the water.
Plus you need to wear gloves Neoprene, and chest waders of Neoprene you can wear just a pair of shorts and socks, I use to work for a company that did docks and boat lifts and I am 6 ft 2 inches tall and those waders would come almost up to my neck, very comfortable easy to get off, but like every kind you can get holes in them, but use boot goop, that works great on any type of fabric of shoes or boots wet or dry. BOOT GOOP.
@@TRC2002 hey, I resemble that remark.. I really do need to get a checkup, it's been 5 or 6 years.
His water work don't phase me but the walking on or under ice seems like an accident waiting to happen
RN here. Scares me too
Thanks for jumping in. I like the vdieo a lot
I didn't even know I needed his channel in my life but here we are.
