I'm an OT purist. Old enough to have watched ROTJ in the cinemas. I hate the prequel movies so I never watched Clone Wars or Rebels. However I liked Ahsoka enough on Mando, and Rosario is always awesome, that I decided to watch this show. When this series was airing, Disney+ had a recommended playlist of "essential" Ahsoka-related Clone Wars and Rebels episodes to watch to get caught up so I watched those ones. I can totally see now why Ahsoka became a fan favorite. And, yeah despite still not liking prequel stuff I do have a small soft spot for Ahsoka now. Filoni knows what he's doing, man. The Bad Batch got me feeling some type of way, despite me never even having watched any of the Clone Wars stuff.
I'm an OT purist, too. Old enough to have seen ANH in theaters before it was called ANH. The prequels were fine, and each was better than the one before. Aside from some clunky dialogue, ROTS was the second best movie after ESB. Jar Jar didn't ruin everything.
I made sure my brother watched Rebels before this. He didn't want to, because he had some problem with animation for some reason, but I got him to watch it and he ended up loving it. Then when we watched Ahsoka together, he thanked me for making him watch Rebels and agreed with me that the show wouldn't be the same if you didn't care about the characters. Also, you might notice that those "Sith" characters are still following some Jedi traditions. Baylan clearly still cares about the Jedi ways in some way. Their lightsabers also aren't all the way red.
the title fulcrum came into existance when Ahsoka was on Onderan to teach Steele & Saw Guerrera and their crew how to fight the seperatists. it was how anakin would communicate with her since the jedi weren't supposed to get involved. so the term predates the rebellion, it actually comes from the clone wars.
@@kyzer42 she didn't know Vader was Anakin until twilight of the apprentice. By that point others also took the name fulcrum like kalus and andor. By then fulcrum wasnt a specific way to contact her it was the code name of a group of agents.
i believe the music we hear when sabine is introduced is diegetic, so its what sabine is actually listening to as she driving down the road cuz you see her lower it when porter shows up and it lowers for us at the same time.
I fully agree with you about Ahsoka. I've been a Star Wars fan since the early 80s and Ahsoka is my favourite Star Wars character. Rosario Dawson does a great job with her and there are some awesome episodes coming up.
The Rebels finale took place in 1bby. so about 1 year before a new hope. according to information released about all the star wars show in the works when ahsoka came out the series is taking place in 9aby so 10 years later. RotJ took place in 4aby
there was much discussion about this at the time but the lightsabers are actually orange rather than red. so its not a sith color. in fact in legends some jedi were known to use similarly colored blades. in fact i believe it was said that Plo Koon had an orange saber, which lead some people to wonder if baylan might have been Plo's Padawan
not the best of the live action shows but also, much like all the other shows with known characters, it moves the ball down the pitch, fills in some gaps, gives us new things to think about, adds some stuff to the lore & is clearly a small piece in the bigger story. it's also (like Kenobi) cursed with expectations that it could never live up to (for some) but, to me at least, it has gloriously high highs and when told in full, is gonna make a fantastic *part of* this era's bigger picture. & in and of itself, much like spin-off comics, that's what these shows are supposed to be doing (imvho ofc). the movies give us the border to our jigsaw, set the framework & the guidelines we have to fit within and all the books, comics, TV shows, cartoons & more give us a finer-detail perspective on said bigger picture. apols for the essay, hope you enjoy(ed?) it. Edit - the show not the essay 😂
I mean, with star wars plot is a vehicle for action set pieces and vibes. The plot of a theme park ride only needs to hit the major points and your imagination fills in the gaps unless/until something comes up that fills it in incl supplimentary merchandise
Not related to the reaction but are you Going to continue the expanse and person of interest at some point? I was really enjoying your reactions to those two shows
So much empty, blank staring scenes with no dialogue in this show, and what dialogue there are is so badly written. Bland exposition, and no substance, which is the standard for Star Wars these days.
The algorithm gods have sent you back to me!! This is so [censored] awesome!! Welcome back!

@@jthomann71 He did ruin everything... By being manipulated into giving Palpatine emergency powers. But he didn't ruin the movies just by existing xD

Looking forward to your reactions to Ahsoka which I found to be a worthy successor to Rebels.
Neil returning to Star Wars reactions... Great way to start the week. Thank you!

If that's true, it seems a little dumb for her to keep using an alias that Darth Vader would recognize, doesn't it?

Bring back the iconic *Clap* opening please Neil!

I have watched all the Star Wars that there is... and really enjoyed Ahsoka. Thanks for the reaction!
Really looking forward to seeing how you react to this story.

Very awesome eps coming up! I love every one of them.

Oh, I wish I’d renewed my Disney plus this month. I need to wait another month. But actually I already saw Ahsoka. 🎉

New subscriber and looking forward to your reaction to the rest.
Welcome aboard!
This was a really enjoyable show. I think you'll dig it.
Enjoyably stupid.
Surely I’m not the only one thinking Acolyte reaction?
Tales of the Empire too...? 😅
I really hope so.
Okay...ep 1 done. Ep 2 soon, please. I don't ask for much...but...yeah. Soon.
FYI: Baylan and Shin have dark Jedi sabers, not Sith sabers. I.e. not fully red

Cool to see you doing other shows than taskmaster, sadly this one is not for me.
Not related to the reaction but are you Going to continue the expanse and person of interest at some point?
I was really enjoying your reactions to those two shows
also Fringe my POV
And perhaps the last episodes of Avatar, if you haven't watched them off-screen?
(In your own time. No pressure.)
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
I miss shows like Andor....
Was hoping Ahsoka would get same level writing and story but nah :/
I wouldn't watch if I were you Neil, there's a sh*tstorm coming 😢
Or we just let a star wars (and Ahsoka) fan watch a show he wants to watch and form his own opinion :)
Yup. The show was absolutely garbage.
Ahsoka was fantastic. Arguably better than Mando.
