Our Vizla Shadow was a rescue. Being the runt of a rather large litter, he had very low life expectancy hence why we took him. He was lovable and would chase us. But he did enjoy loafing. He had to have cartoons on when we left otherwise he tore up the house. His favorite toy was a small piece of 2x4 he picked out himself (it was in the yard where my dad was renovating the garage into a bedroom). He only got it when we left. He was overweight for most of his life due to the steroids he needed for hip displaysia. He loved going to see “Johnna” (our vet) and would literally pretend to be hurt if he felt he needed to go. He was such a character. He lived to be 16 years old.

What a gorgeous girl. I’ve always wanted a Vizsla but ended up with 2 rescue GSP’s instead which are similar in a lot of traits. From people who had them as pets, I got the impression they can be a tad more neurotic than GSP’s but big love bugs. And high energy, smart and very much Velcro dogs like GSP’s tend to be as well. We lucked out with our last rescue GSP. My husband’s cancer came back just as we got her and it could have been a disaster as life went off the rails for a good 3 years and he still struggles 5 years later. But she has been the most empathetic, intuitive and caring dog, unbelievably good for a young high energy breed with a history of abuse and acting out at the fosters. She has been by his side through it all. And, yes, they can go and go and go. When my sister-in-law visits with her mile-long-legs she takes her on long runs and Kona is in heaven. She pines for her when she leaves. Our dog walker just doesn’t measure up I guess 😂. Thank you for sharing this video of Artemis and indulging my love of all things Vizsla…I will imagine petting her silk soft ears!

I never thought I would see a Vizsla on this channel. Really simply because they don't need the extra grooming from their regular care. A Vizsla at most needs a damp cloth a few times a year. But you really should be taking your Vizsls out into the field for them to get dirty and get a wash from the garden hose every now and again. Basically, if your Vizsla doesn't get dirty enough to give them regular washes, you probably should not have a Vizsla and get a Yellow Lab instead.

Omg a Vizsla! My favorite dog in the world. Had one when I was growing up and she lived to be 15! She was my best friend, incredibly intelligent and the sweetest dog ever. Artemis is gorgeous. 🐕💜

What a silly little lady! I love her so much. Would love a Vizsla, but I am nowhere near close to being able to meet their energetic needs lol

I used to volunteer at a doggy daycare, and we had a vizsla named Lucy. She was such a wonderful dog, made me fall in love with the breed. I would love to have one, but because of their high energy level I don't think I would be able to meet their needs. Thank you for sharing Artemis with us.

Love the Vizsla! We had one as a family dog. Would send the kids outside to play ball with the dog. An hour later after the dog ran the kids out, I would put them to bed and then the dog would go to sleep. Had the whole night to myself! Best dog ever but needs a lot of exercise for sure!

You are the first groomer I've have seen with this breed. I adopted one many years ago. His name was Morrison. Morris for short. I was blessed 16 years with him. There is no other breed so amazing as his. If I come across another at a rescue I'm diving in. Thank you for showing this beautiful girl.

I regularly walk and dogsit a viszla, and he's a wonderful boy. His parents take him hunting, and he's apparently very good at it! I have to discourage him from taking down all the rabbits and squirrels on our walks, though! I know if I let him he'd get them all!

I lost my 11-year old Vizsla over a decade ago and I still miss him. In my retirement years I rescued a red min-pin chihuahua mix and like to think that he’s a miniature Vizsla. LOL. Both dogs: wonderful additions to the family.

I have a Vizsla/German short-haired pointer mix. She's almost 12 and can run circles around me while we go for walks and seemingly never gets tired!! When we get home from the walks, we chase her around the yard for a while to try to burn off the rest of her energy, but we always get tired before she does. 😅😅
She's a super sweet, sensitive girl, too. 🥰🥰

I was at a local park last summer, having lunch, when I noticed a dog running around. Since I hadn't niticed anybody arrive I looked around for it's owner. Just before spotting it's owner I noticed what it was chasing; a remote controled toy. The two were having a blast!

She seemed to like the dryer after a bit. She started inching her way closer to you as it went. Or she was seeking comfort from you. Either way, she was adorable.

SUCH a pretty girl! And given she is a hunting breed, Artemis is a perfect name for her! (For anyone who doesn't know, Artemis was the goddess of the hunt in Greek mythology. She was the twin sister to Apollo, the god of the sun, and they were the children of Zeus and Leto. Artemis is analogous to Diana in Roman mythology.)

First time I saw a Vizla was at Bluegrass Dog Show. He wasn't in the ring. I believe he and his handler had just arrived. The handler paused a moment in her overloaded, awkward scurry across the field. Visla, a male, took that moment to express his opinion. He hiked his leg and peed down the side of her leg and into her shoe.
He didn't improve her morning at all.
