I adopted a 2-year-old Vizsla from a family who said he could get over the 8-ft cinderblock wall around their backyard, so they couldn't keep him. We were ready to install a new fence, but found he was content to stay in our yard with a 5.5-ft fence because he could climb the tree and see over it to the park behind our house. He just wanted to people-watch.

My mom's husband has a Vizsla, and despite being over 12 years old already, he's still just as energetic as a puppy. You can throw him a stick for hours, and he'll still keep pestering you for more.
Saw this Viszla meme once saying "I'm a highclass huntingdog. But I don't do wet. Or cold. Defenitly not wet and cold." As an owner of a Weimaraner (basically the german variation of that breed in grey) I can confirm that's 100% true.
for sure! Our Vizsla does not want to go for a walk when it rains and walks around puddles. But if you throw a ball in the water she will jump in no thoughts
What a gorgeous girl. I’ve always wanted a Vizsla but ended up with 2 rescue GSP’s instead which are similar in a lot of traits. From people who had them as pets, I got the impression they can be a tad more neurotic than GSP’s but big love bugs. And high energy, smart and very much Velcro dogs like GSP’s tend to be as well. We lucked out with our last rescue GSP. My husband’s cancer came back just as we got her and it could have been a disaster as life went off the rails for a good 3 years and he still struggles 5 years later. But she has been the most empathetic, intuitive and caring dog, unbelievably good for a young high energy breed with a history of abuse and acting out at the fosters. She has been by his side through it all. And, yes, they can go and go and go. When my sister-in-law visits with her mile-long-legs she takes her on long runs and Kona is in heaven. She pines for her when she leaves. Our dog walker just doesn’t measure up I guess 😂. Thank you for sharing this video of Artemis and indulging my love of all things Vizsla…I will imagine petting her silk soft ears!
My SIL had a Vizsla-Golden Retriever mix who was the sweetest dog ever. My SIL used to run marathons and would routinely take Sammy on training runs with her. Sammy loved it!
I grew up with a vizsla. My dad used to bike forest trails for hours so our dog would get the exercise they need. Our Vizsla could run 8 hours a day in his prime!
OHHHHHHHHHHHHH This is a treat! Back in 2004 my family got a Vizsla who was just a few months old from a person who bred them out by San Diego. We had him with us until 2019, where he lived to be 16 years old. I miss that dog every day dearly. These guys truly are one of a kind. okay, Vanessa, your hungarian breed collection is growing nicely. You've groomed vizsla, komondor, kuvasz and puli. Now you HAVE TO find a mudi, a pumi, a wirehaired vizsla, a hungarian agár and a transylvanian hound to complete the collection. :D

The Vizsla is definitely one of my favourite dog breeds and it fits me on so many levels, but the High Energy part is the biggest mark down for me personally. I wish I was high energy myself enough for such a beautiful dog.
She is gorgeous. I love this breed. Watching them run is truly amazing. They need a lot of exercising, and will do well with joggers and hikers. When they tire out...they tire out. They are affectionate, loyal, sweet, and want nothing more than to be part of a family.
I never thought I would see a Vizsla on this channel. Really simply because they don't need the extra grooming from their regular care. A Vizsla at most needs a damp cloth a few times a year. They really don't need grooming at all. If you got a couch Vizsla, a damp cloth a few times a year is enough. If you have a Vizsla that's properly utilized, just wash them every time you take them out into the field and that's it. Easiest dog to take care of.

I have a Vizsla/German short-haired pointer mix. She's almost 12 and can run circles around me while we go for walks and seemingly never gets tired!! When we get home from the walks, we chase her around the yard for a while to try to burn off the rest of her energy, but we always get tired before she does. 😅😅 She's a super sweet, sensitive girl, too. 🥰🥰
I was at a local park last summer, having lunch, when I noticed a dog running around. Since I hadn't niticed anybody arrive I looked around for it's owner. Just before spotting it's owner I noticed what it was chasing; a remote controled toy. The two were having a blast!
She seemed to like the dryer after a bit. She started inching her way closer to you as it went. Or she was seeking comfort from you. Either way, she was adorable.
SUCH a pretty girl! And given she is a hunting breed, Artemis is a perfect name for her! (For anyone who doesn't know, Artemis was the goddess of the hunt in Greek mythology. She was the twin sister to Apollo, the god of the sun, and they were the children of Zeus and Leto. Artemis is analogous to Diana in Roman mythology.)
Had a six month old Vizla wonder onto our property the other day. He was beautiful. We hung out until his owners came looking for him. He slipped his leash.
First time I saw a Vizla was at Bluegrass Dog Show. He wasn't in the ring. I believe he and his handler had just arrived. The handler paused a moment in her overloaded, awkward scurry across the field. Visla, a male, took that moment to express his opinion. He hiked his leg and peed down the side of her leg and into her shoe. He didn't improve her morning at all.
Oh man, you did this dog dirty with that very last shot XD

I have a Vizsla/German short-haired pointer mix. She's almost 12 and can run circles around me while we go for walks and seemingly never gets tired!! When we get home from the walks, we chase her around the yard for a while to try to burn off the rest of her energy, but we always get tired before she does. 😅😅
She's a super sweet, sensitive girl, too. 🥰🥰
I was at a local park last summer, having lunch, when I noticed a dog running around. Since I hadn't niticed anybody arrive I looked around for it's owner. Just before spotting it's owner I noticed what it was chasing; a remote controled toy. The two were having a blast!
Vizlas are the most gorgeous dogs out there along with the Weimaraner
She seemed to like the dryer after a bit. She started inching her way closer to you as it went. Or she was seeking comfort from you. Either way, she was adorable.
SUCH a pretty girl! And given she is a hunting breed, Artemis is a perfect name for her! (For anyone who doesn't know, Artemis was the goddess of the hunt in Greek mythology. She was the twin sister to Apollo, the god of the sun, and they were the children of Zeus and Leto. Artemis is analogous to Diana in Roman mythology.)
Omigosh, Artemis is so precious!
She was so funny when she first got on the table! 🤭
She’s so beautiful
OH MY ❤ - my fav breed - Had my own sweet heart! Bailey - named after Bailey's Irish Cream
Had a six month old Vizla wonder onto our property the other day. He was beautiful. We hung out until his owners came looking for him. He slipped his leash.
Aww, a friend had a Vizsla, he was such a sweet, good boy!
"Will gladly obey for treats".
Beautiful pupper! She left you a nice tip! 🤣💖
hahahaha that last shot made me choke on my water. I was not expecting that at all.
This is a noble looking breed with gorgeous coloring
i had a vizsla growing up. he was the best dog ever. I still miss him every day. ❤
Artemis did well. She's an excellent tipper.
Beautiful girl and reasonably calm especially when its her first groom. Thank you for sharing your work.
