I always use my keyboard most of the time instead of my tablet's buttons, but now, just wow.

The good thing about being left handed is you don’t need to let go of the mouse to draw (assuming you use a mouse with your right hand), get a mouse with 12 macros on the side.

I never use my right hand for shortcuts, and I don't mind using shortcuts with my pen in my hand

Cool idea,a detachable and switchable keypad would help with the lefty and righty issue
Really clever idea. I never use programmable keys because I just know where the shortcuts are on the keyboard. Very simple, but easy solution for laptops. I hope thet make a full lefty version soon!
Yeah, something like a switch (even if it had a wire conecting both sides)
Or maybe lefties could learn to do it the "right" way...

So glad you reviewed this! My friend shared it on Facebook not too long ago! I have a Huion Kamvas Pro but the screen ratio is different to my laptop screen and also have Wacom Draw and one thing I really would like a set of quick keys and this is quite nice even from an aesthetic point! Part of me is curious to get my hands on one of these 🤔

Thanks. I actually planned on reviewing this much later BUT found out Huion had the presale ending Feb 19. Just wanted to get this video out earlier so that people can know exactly how the tablet performs.
I really like this concept from an ergonomic perspective, I find trying to fit keyboards and peripherals within a comfortable distance to each other tricky, having a keypad with just enough keys to cover the basics for image editing makes a lot of sense, as well as the minimal bezels. I often use a mouse in my left hand so that would work well here.

This is a pretty cool drawing tablet. I fully understand the lefty issue, so hopefully they'll release just the keypad on its own. I may get this soon just because.

Seems good but for me I think the surface area is too small. My drawing hand would be constantly pressing on the tablet's bottom edge. I hope they release a larger size.
I work with XP-pen deco 3 , it comes with dial, and 6 customizable keys. And I can work without keyboard.I love it!. Bit this takes the concept the a whole new level.

SOLUTION FOR CMD + OPTION KEY: There is this free software for macOS called Karabiner Elements for customising keys on external keyboards (among other things) without impacting the keys on your main keyboard. I recently tried it for changing keys on an external numeric pad and it works great!
Just choose the desired external keyboard from the drop down menu under Karabiner-Elements Preferences > Simple Modifications > Target Device (instead of choosing "For all devices").
Seems good for travel. Like drawing on the train. I already have a Wacom tablet but I might get this

As an amateur, I think this is the best value for a screenless drawing tablet. You have very valid criticism (especially the android orientation). But me, I'm a right handed windows user and i do plan on using my android to draw and paint with, but it's not the main goal. And the extra controls with the knob offer unmatched workflow for the price range. And maybe they will be able to fix the android orientation with software updates eventually.

You can use Karabiner on the Mac to switch those keys.
The issue is whether that app can specifically target the CMD & Opt keys on the keypad vs the keyboard.
As a keyboard shortcut user, i find this pretty amazing to use with tablet. Ohh goshh

I love the idea of having these keys alongside the tablet with the use of the dial! Pretty unfortunate for left handed users, I do think this modification would work even better if it were detachable with some sort of connection ability on both sides 🙂

I'm in the process to remap a 18+4 wireless number pad to use with a Bosto 16HD I'm planning on buying.
I never use the buttons on the side of my tablet. The keyboard just does it all for me without configuring. BUT if this ever came for lefties it would be an instant buy as it looks very ergonomic
I actually saw an ad for this and was curious about it, but yeah, left handed so.
I wish the keyboard was also let us to customise its functions. Detachable keyboard with full customisation would be a dream.

I was actually researching abouts those gaming "half-keyboards" to make a setup just like this. Maybe if it proves to be a real useful tablet design and people make enough fuss they'll make a left handed version!
I’m a righty with very limited use of my left hand so would need a left handed version. Disappointed that once again an otherwise excellent company forgets about people w/ other abilities (being a lefty) and disabilities. Would be really cool if they would make a one handed complete keyboard- there are precious few options out there for one handed typers.

very cool concept, but I still prefer using a Nostromo keyboard or anything similar like Orbweaver ( due to the scroll wheel) to work with any pen tablet or even touch screens like cintiq.
You can keypmap the cmd and opt keys under keyboard preferences
Great Review! It's a pity that they not thought about the right order in Mac CMD and ALT keys, and/or make them an included spare Windows interchangeable set (And modifiable in software too). Maybe the next version.
In System Preference | Keyboard | Modifier Key… button Monterey), you can select the KD200 keyboard and change the CMD & OPT keys out.
Suddenly, I have no complaints about this drawing tablet!
Good review, thankyou. But i dont like the way the button (to change dial modes) is too far away from the dial. It should be closer or in centre of teh dial
Also for unit this sizeHuion should have put THREE DIALS on it

Very nice review. Was wondering if the surface texture has any chances of wearing the nibs very fast. Had seen this mentioned as a problem in some other manufacturers. Thank you in advance 🙏🏽
Even if it's going to wear off fast, it should be a non issue as replacement nibs are cheap. And 8-10 free nibs are included in the box.

After seeing this feedback, Huion will make something for Left-handed people. Maybe a full set with detachable right and left sides.
Huion is a company that actually listens to feedback and makes changes, no matter how small.
I like that, and have seen that myself when I bought one of their tablets.
This is an awesome idea though! Defs would make it less clunky than my current Bluetooth keyboard set up
When I first saw the thumbnail I thought this was an accessory for iPad/tablet users, with the drawing space being a rubberised mat for resting the tablet whilst you worked.

I personally prefer using a proper keyboard so I don't need a shortcut keys on a tablet.
The tablet is a good concept, but if they make the keyboard detachable would be a great idea. Like, you could put it on the left or right side anytime

What they should've done is made a separate tablet and keypad. They could've had a slot on either side of the tablet to connect either a left or right handed keypad. Probably wouldn't be that difficult, apart from the connector on the PCB would have to be very thin, so the form factor would be difficult.
great for a 3d setup
i ordered KD200 because of this review, as they keyboard makes it perfect for me and i wanted a regular pen tablet with tilt since i am used to it from the ipad. the smooth tilt shown in this video convinced me. unfortunately i can't get the tilt to behave smoothly in clip studio paint or krita. the cursor tries to point itself either vertically or horizontally, and jitters wildly between the two as i move the pen at different angles. i've tried both the current driver and one from november last year. i wonder if anyone else has had this issue :(
They should have really made this a push-to-click dial to switch between the modes.
a backlit may come handy especially working at night.
Maybe it's just me but i can see this working with a display tablet with no0shortcut keys. Perhaps combining it with the Huon Kamvas 22 plus?
now they have launched a key pad for this tablet for left handed people, i really don´t know if is for an aditional cost.
I'm wondering if this keyboard is better then individual "1 handed gaming keyboards" for drawing or that they would be about the same.

They copied the aesthetic of the Logitech mx keys even down to the software 😂. Not complaining tho, it will make my setup look seamless. Def buying

Would be very easy for huion to configure for left handed people, just include additional upside letters on all the keys and have a flip key.

Can you program the dial to do rotate canvas, that's crucial for me? Thnx P.S. if you used the cable, you might get the proper mapping with the Android device.
Assigning rotation to the dial will require keyboard shortcuts. So your drawing software must have keyboard shortcuts for rotation, otherwise rotation cannot be assigned to the dial.
If it is just the keyboard without the tablet i'd buy it now
