    Totally appreciate you providing this content. I’ve been streaming softball games for the last two years. Recently got a Mevo and looking into the Pivo for Basketball games. Thanks again!

      Mevo Start is my choice for all my live streams. I’ll record with an iPhone from time to time, but streaming gets the Start.

    do you game footage we can watch. I'd love to see how it tracks passing plays. Long, med, and short passes. Also kickoffs and punts. I have to say this has me intrigued. I am also wondering how an osbot tail would work when filming a football or basketball game. Another product that I've seen advertisements of that has me intrigued is the Pix4team. Anyway ... thank you for putting up these instructional how-to videos and posting your experiences!

      Way too much going on for it to pick out an item or person to track on a football field. It is useful for panning manually. I had an obsbot tail for a while and product support just didn't advance at all while I had it. Even sold my Mevo stuff to get it and wound up having to go back. I'll be trying the combo for baseball season in a week or so and posting findings there. Hoping it will actually track since there are fewer 'distractions' for its algorithm to deal with.

    This is the first hearing about the Pivo. That might come in handy depending on how much weight it'll hold. I wouldn't zoom at all on the Mevo. The zoom pixelizes the image and it becomes unusable. It's a digital zoom and ok for up to a few feet. I'd just use the pan feature, or take the mevo up top where you don't need to pan.

      Pivo pod was a kickstarter project a couple of years ago. I have used it to highlight some 3D prints on my Insta page but just recently started using it with the Mevo. Have mounted the Start as well as the Plus/Boost combo both right side up and upside down. It pans well both ways. I’ll continue to use the zoom as it has served me well in streaming baseball the past few years. Thanks for watching!

      You mention the MEVO app will let you zoom in.
      Are you suppose to have both apps open?
      I was confused since you said the PIVO has to be opened , if it closes for more than 5 min it will shut down.
      This doesn’t shut down the filming of the MEVO correct?

    Hi Jason how do you find the wireless range on the Mevo Start, what sort of distance can you achieve before the picture breaks up

    • @JasonHoffmanYT
      @JasonHoffmanYT  3 года назад +1

      Its supposed to give 100ft (unobstructed) but my use is never unobstructed. I will say the setup for this video was a solid 70ft and even when people walked between the camera and my iPad I never lost connection with the Mevo. What you want to be sure of is proximity to the internet source. Closer to Mevo seems to be better than closer to tablet/phone.

    Jason I have a 20’ tripod how far have you gotten away from the pivot with the remote and on that note does the mevo allow you to be 20’ from your phone and hotspot connected devices? Thanks

    • @JasonHoffmanYT
      @JasonHoffmanYT  3 года назад

      I have been 50 or so feet from the Mevo/Pivo setup and both phone and remote functioned well. Will you be in below the tripod on field level or elevated in bleachers? I ask because bodies between you and the equipment can be detrimental to the connection.

    • @shanemcgonnell2689
      @shanemcgonnell2689 3 года назад

      @@JasonHoffmanYT I will be below it. I would prefer to walk about 20’ from the tripod and sit and watch the game on the sidelines. When I tried this with my GoPro 8 last weekend the connection to my phone was horrible from the GoPro even when I was right underneath. Then my GoPro for some reason turned off or stoped recording at about 8 minutes during every game. Plenty of room available on my SD. Batteries on the GoPro lasted 1 battery per game. I’m hoping mevo will fix all this. Thanks for replying and helping. Really appreciate that.

    • @JasonHoffmanYT
      @JasonHoffmanYT  3 года назад +1

      To control both as described it takes two devices. One for Mevo app and all it does and one for Pivo to keep it from shutting down. I have a video call with Pivo coming Monday and am asking for help with this type use.
      That being said, if the phone/tablet and the Mevo are both connected to a router for internet connection then no, going out of the Mevo app doesn't stop filming/streaming.

    • @JasonHoffmanYT

      I don't trust a tripod. Mounted mine to a monopod attached to something secure. Too much happening on a sideline that could knock a tripod over. If you do use one, make it a beefy one.

    Have you tried using pivo for a youth basketball game?

    • @JasonHoffmanYT
      @JasonHoffmanYT  4 года назад +1

      I have not tried to stream in a gym yet. Was set to when I was diagnosed with Covid. But my concern is our local gyms are built like isolation chambers when it comes to cellular signal. The Pivo should be a good solution for basketball and volleyball tho. It's pan speed with the remote is not fast, but zoomed out a bit it should handle everything except an unexpected down court pass. Thanks for the question!
