For those wondering why it was taken down. It was totally my fault: a failure of editorial standards. At 1:08:40 in the previous version - I had used footage that I thought was from a Houthi attack on a ship, when in fact it was from 2018. RUclips decided this was grounds for the video's removal as the same footage had circulated elsewhere on the platform as part of a disinformation campaign. A little harsh, I thought, as the footage could have been removed or blurred. Regardless - they were right to point it out. These end of year videos are made in a bit of a rush towards the end of the year - and i think as a result, my standards can slip. To stop this from happening next time, I'll be researching and fact-checking stuff from the middle of the year onwards. Thanks for reading and sorry for the mistake. Best, Josh [Ordinary Things]
It kind of puzzles me that this gets taken down but videos that are basically just 100% misinformation/propaganda can stay up no problem. Anyway, good on you for fixing it, love this channel, you really set a very high bar

I'm going to repost the comment I posted on the original video: retirement age in france was not upped from 62 to 64 , the amounts of years you have to work was upped to ~ 43 years of employment. I, myself, as I didn't work for 4 years total in my life and finshed school at 24, is looking at a very late retirement. Depending on your situation you may retire at ~70 or more. Before that law was passed most people in france retired at around 65 (my neighbour retired just before that was passed at 67, meaning if the law was passed several years ago he would have had to retire in 3 years, at 70. Just saying it for the people who keep saying "it's worse in my country", no, it's the same. It's just that when we talk about retirement here, we talk about the "minimum age" to get full benefit (if you actually have your quota of years)
Huge kudos to acknowledging that there was a valid reason (if perhaps overblown reaction) to the initial takedown, and I'm especially glad to see it sorted out!
@OrdinaryThings I just want to let you know that if I have kids in the future & they ask what the 2020s were like, I’ll direct them to my playlist of all your 2020s videos.

21:00 There is a bit more context to this. The girl giving it to him was directed by a ukranian external operation, and was told that there was a listening device in the statue. She sat only a few meters away from tatarsky and was there when the statue exploded because she didn't know it was a bomb. She survived. If I remember correctly she got 20 years in prison. Fuck. It checks out though. If she knew it was a bomb, she probably wouldn't have stuck around at that gathering for long. Or at least I'd think so. Still must have been a big shock for her, considering she wasn't expecting her listening device to explode.
The hard part about a debate is to find participants that are intellectually honest enough that they argue from place of probing the ideas that are being debated rather then trying to win a battle for hearts and minds. This becomes harder each year since a viral "victory" in a debate could be a major milestone for that faction. This is a problem between tribalism and the death of intellectual curiosity.
