Lisa is a veteran and extremely experienced vocalist. Her voice is so versatile if you listen to her records. She's very intentional with the way she sings to tell the story of her songs.
The lyrics is deeply philosophical about losing someone. The way she sang reminds you of the same emotions that the main protagonist in Demon Slayer felt during the climactic scene in the movie that this OST is referring to. Sadness, anger and determination. She is the best anime OST singer.
Sorry for broken english: It's sad that when she toke this video, she had a marital problems with her husband. That was the most painful and difficult time in her life. Then she toke emotion and energy to her job and stay alive under high stress. She was the most strong-hearted I've known.
Japanese singers are completely insanely insane in their own whole. They are in their own class. For me my favs are LiSA, Ado, Kenshi Yonezu. All are so great.
Try to listen Aimer "zankyou sanka" from Demon Slayer entertainment district and TK "Unravel" from Tokyo Ghoul (the anime opening version for me is the best but there is also the first take if you want) 😊
There is another song from her in this same show, called "Gurenge". In this other song she flips entirely all the things she does, and a variety of tones and vocal tricks are used there. You can't miss it, the performance is as charming and awesome as in this song.
Japanese music is just so emotional and touching, is totally diferent from the music we used to listening, the swing the time the tone of voice, is just unique and different, You should listen more of the firts take saga! Lisa is the best!!
that's the thing i love the most about Japanese music. You may not understand the lyrics, but the melody always take your soul away and you feel like you understand the feeling just by hearing the dynamics of the notes and instrument
Lisa has an excellent vocal range and I personally love her songs. I hope you keep reacting to it you won't be disappointed... one of the most popular songs on the first take is "Gurenge"
she sang with tension and compression throughout the song.. it is emotional and she conveyed desperate, pain and anger indeed but on the other hand we felt sense of tired... she definitely took the song personally and almost cry at the end of the song
The first take channel is amazing, I recommend you to watch more from the channel. Japanese music industry is really diverse, and the first take got some of the best to perform there. Thank you for the reaction as always
Whenever I listened to Homura sang by Lisa, my tears just tearing down. I can feel the pain by the song and Lisa is such a wonderful and amazing singer. Thank you for reacting to her.
As a fan of LiSA in Japan, I'm so happy to see her commentary and introductions like this! I would be very happy if you could introduce her song "Catch the moment" on the same RUclips page!
After all the notifications that this channel has sent only this has caught my attention. Glad you loved it it's actually a theme song for the sacrifice of a swordsman to save his two alies and then this sacrifice was the driving force of the other swordsman to finish their mission no matter how injured, hurt, how many died and it all paid off because in the end they were victorious and the line "kokoro o moyase" is probably the most iconic. Edit: oh and also Homura means "flame" or "fire"
what's best about homura is that not only does it mean flame which we can see the obvious link to rengoku, the flame pillar, but the word also means a heart that is fulled by strong emotions and desire, which we could see by Rengoku's desire to protect the people on the train and his belief that the fledgings he protects (the protagonist trio) will eventually soar through the sky and protect people just like him (nezuko included)
This song touches so many of my heart's strings I always find myself in tears, with goosebumps and slightly trembling just by listening to her voice. I don't know if you know about her personal feelings behind this song (she says something after the end of the song and I think it's related to her ex husband cheating on her) but you can clearly tell this song means a lot to her, too. I love her voice since 2009, she keeps getting better and better. LiSa is incredible to me.
Homura is one of my favorite songs ever, and knowing the context of it from demon slayer also adds to the pain that song makes you feel lol. Incredible singing as always, Lisa is one of the most talented singers out there in my opinion. I would really recommend you guys to listen to the first take of "Gurenge" from Lisa as well, love your content!
i'm quite familiar with technicalities that's why i also enjoy this channel. i was in a choir. but as a band vocalist when i was younger, i leaned more towards raw singing... sometimes when you go too technical, the performance can be close to perfect but also a little less emotional... this is why i love lisa and especially this performance... how can someone be this talented and creative to make each note that's in a phonetic language always sound interesting and captivating... each syllable! her singing pierces my soul. please do her gurenge performance too. 💜
Since you guys have gone to the First Take which is a rabbit hole in finding amazing singers, here's my suggestions: More LiSA - unlasting, Gurenge, Catch The Moment Reona - Niji no Kanatani Masayuki Suzuki - DADDY! DADDY! DO and GIRI GIRI Ryokuoushoku Shakai - Shout Baby I hope you check them out as well!
Yay finally! 😍 can you also pls react to one of the best male singer in Japan, Taka from One Ok Rock. He covered the song Hello by Adele. Or you can react to him singing Renegades piano version.
LISA did a first take of her song called "catch the moment" and it has completely the opposite feel of this song. It would be interesting to see your reaction to it.
This song, as others pointed out, is used in a anime movie for Demon Slayer. Even though I had heard the song before watching the movie and thinking it was good, it just came alive when I watched the movie. It made me cry and I just sat there taking in the lyrics on a whole different level.
I love you guys's analystics and the way you describe each thing because i totally agree, thats what makes her what she is and just like you said Whatever it is, WE DONT CARE CUZ WE'RE HERE FOR IT ❤❤❤ her voice is admirable and beautiful, when she sang with a painful expression and a vibrating voice i knew it,i knew she was remembering things and was going too deep into her memory and feelings and when i did tear up, especially at the end,i litteraly cried ❤ i admire people like her who really use their voice to speak up to help out and reach out for the people who must be going through the same things as they went through, that really warmed but also ached my heart
I like how you guys were expecting/ waiting for her to go either wail the next vocal or she was building up to a huge crescendo, only for her to pull back a bit and go in a different direction. The surprise on your faces was great and I love the fact that she surprised you with that.
This came out right at the height of the pandemic that put a huge stop on her career that was going full steam ahead, and then immediately after we hear about her husband's infidelity. It's wild how she put her whole self out there in this song.
I like SAIKAI which is also in "the first take" as a LiSA's performance. I would be happy if you could react. SAIKAI is a duet with a singer named Uru, and they recorded the song separately, so this "The first take" was not only the first time they sang together, but also the first time they saw each other. HOMURA was very moving at the end of the song, but the performance in SAIKAI made me feel happy. It is a song that shows a completely different side.
When Lisa says Sayonara in the beginning, Rengoku comes to my mind first thing and then instant goosebumps!! I guess I'm never getting over Rengoku's death. 😭😭😭

The fun thing about The First Take is that the artists only given once chance to sing the song, whether they make mistake or sing it perfectly, it will be all in the video.
Man you have to watch the anime and you'll understand why is this song so tense. I literally cried on first listen of this version (after watching the anime) This is actually much more touching than the original MV because of the raw live emotion she put in. She mentioned that there's alot going on in her life, (not gonna say much about it) but there's so much hurdles in her life around this time and ppl around her. Normal person would've break down but she use that as a strength and create this masterpiece.
This song dedicated to death of certain character in the show, who is loved by fans so much, and almost everyone cried on that character death, that's why this song hit very hard in emotions
Every song that she sings always like came to life! I feel all sorts of feeling from hearing her singing everytime, but definitely react to gurenge her voice in the song are very very powerful... Love her so much!!!
At this point it's not even the song itself that makes me cry. ITS HER!!! "You have to keep on living no matter how hard it gets" Yes queen! Stab me again with your knife of truth, why don't you!? Anyway, I will never not lose my mind at how great she is
the delivery of this song is just that perfect so even a mistake is adding the salt to the wound, for example, the 2nd phrase of the chorus, 1st chorus she's using falsetto, and at the final chorus she's using chest voice which add the emotional damage to those who watch the anime and understand the lyrics. plus speaking of the composition of this song is out of this world imo. the modulations are insanely perfect for the lyrical journey. and after the 2nd verse, the music goes into interlude instead of chorus with 5 semitone modulation just.... perfect
The song 'Homura' was co-written by Yuki Kajiura , who is considered a master in the Japanese anime music world, and LiSA. And there is a group that Ms Kajiura organised himself in pure pursuit of musicality. The group is called KALAFINA, which has overwhelming singing ability and high musicality. All of the group's songs are provided by Ms Kajiura. The following is very similar to the image of this song, so I am sure you will like it. well, you guys should try reacting 2 others songs of her on The First Take, "Gurenge" and "Unlasting". Especially "Unlasting", the performance is so passionate and emotional like Homura
Lisa became one with the song. This song for me, hurts especially when I remember what happened in the movie. It makes me want to cry and you can really feel it with Lisa's singing here.
Speaking of The First Take, i think you guys should try to listen another performances like Unravel or Shout Baby. I bet you guys will be amazed by those
yessss LiSA 😍 can u guys react mafumafu's inochi kirawarete iru 😳🥺 it always make me cry whenever i listen. his voice and feel made this song more heartbreaking🥲
Go through all videos of FIRST TAKE you'll find some awesome content for reaction. Especially my favourite singer Yuuri his vocals are so awesome man!.
2:20 Some rhythms can not be set up by systematic rules as they depend on your emotions... To me, music and songwriting have no specific rule as deep emotions influence everything and create a masterpiece.
Lisa is one of my favorite Japanese singer and she is a professional. She trained herself since she was young so she really has a high potential. I also heard that her documentary will be released on Netflix sooner or later. I am waiting for the documentary for soooo long now. Can't wait to see my angle and get close to her more and more.
Awesome, you reacted to Lisa! I hope you react to other Japanese artists on The First Take! Some that come to mind specifically are Ikuta Lilas and Daichi Miura.
I am so glad for this algorithm find. It's so fun to watch not only people who don't know the song, but kind of just don't seem to be that familiar with Lisa and her range in general. You guys (seem to be) going in as vigins to the song and singer and it is so much more fun.
Thanks for watching 💙 Here’s my jumpstart singing lesson on Singr for those who want to learn - appreciate you hanging with me on YT 🙏🏼 singr.tv/justin
Gurenge from LiSA on The First Take channel is amazing as well. Same with the song Slump by The Stray Kids on this channel. The First Take channel is pretty insane. So far everything I've seen has been pretty good.
Lisa is one of the best japanese singers there are, and maybe even beyond that. She definitely needs more recognition outside the anime community, where her songs have already shown their huge worth.
Lisa emotes so well you can get the feeling with the translation to English Lisa is so special she can break rules without conscience. Bc she seems to be a perfectionist. The specially talent can break rules that average or just good singers can't get away the same risks.
Pls I started to cry when she started to cry PLSSSSI DIDNT EXPECT THAT BUT I KNEW SHES SAD AJD IM FCKN IMPRESSED THAT SHE HELD IT INSIDE SO WELL WHILE SINGINGGG😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
LiSA x Uru - Saikai should be one that would blow your minds. two COMPLETELY different singers, singing a duet in a song that shouldn't work for the pair, but it does. and all "rules" are pretty much broken between the two singers
The jaw aspect....in Japan the cultural ideal is to keep a close tight jaw when speaking......and surprisingly LiSA does an amazing job with that restriction....

Yes queen!
We recommend that you give it a listen.

Lisa my fav 💜💜💜💜 ❤️❤️❤️❤️ she gave animes life by her singing...voice full of feels
I really like western vocal coach reaction to this song. the singing technique is so different in anima which makes it so interesting
well, you guys should try reacting 2 others songs of her on The First Take, "Gurenge" and "Unlasting". Especially "Unlasting", the performance is so passionate and emotional like Homura
Lisa became one with the song. This song for me, hurts especially when I remember what happened in the movie. It makes me want to cry and you can really feel it with Lisa's singing here.
Please cover the first take with Lisa and Uru they are both wonderful together.
Risa is one of the most underrated singer .
She can be so big not saying she isn't now.
First of all congratulations on your engagement
And I just love watching your reactions
Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
In videos like this one, im glad i decided to learn english (I'm Brazilian). Their reaction is so good
Speaking of The First Take, i think you guys should try to listen another performances like Unravel or Shout Baby. I bet you guys will be amazed by those
私は日本人でお二人の言葉は何となくしか分かりませんがとても楽しんで聞いていることが伝わりました。日本には他にも素晴らしい曲が多くあります。ぜひ聞いてください。
yessss LiSA 😍
can u guys react mafumafu's inochi kirawarete iru 😳🥺 it always make me cry whenever i listen. his voice and feel made this song more heartbreaking🥲
inochi kirawarete iru (life hates us now)
@lemonssssssss4 ikr, his vical range is no joke
absolutely amazing and wonderful 💞💞💞💞
Pls also react to Gurenge by Lisa..
Does it teach you to PAUSE a performance when you wanna talk about something?
You should react to clips of her live concert and see how epic those are.
Literal chills. Always amazing, we love Lisa.
React to Unravel The First Take by TK, It'll just open your mind. The way he inserts all kind of emotions there....MAN!!!
she is a veteran!!! a true legend ❤️
Gurenge from LiSA on The First Take channel is amazing as well. Same with the song Slump by The Stray Kids on this channel. The First Take channel is pretty insane. So far everything I've seen has been pretty good.
I hope this means that more of the first takes are incoming because there are some really good artists on the channel, Aimer being one of them.
If you want to see some more power from her, definitely listen to The First Take of "Gurenge". It's very good.
Lisa is one of the best japanese singers there are, and maybe even beyond that. She definitely needs more recognition outside the anime community, where her songs have already shown their huge worth.
Now I really want to see you guys react to Zankyosanka by Aimer. She also did it on First Take !
The first take has lots of amazing raw performances, all performed in one take.
Lisa is amazing, simply put.
Lisa is my favorite Japanese. I love her and I love her songs. Homies always make me cry when I heard "Homies" is jus a beautiful song
If you want to watch more of THE FIRST TAKE, I'd recommend checking out Betelgeuse by Yuuri
Lisa emotes so well you can get the feeling with the translation to English
Lisa is so special she can break rules without conscience. Bc she seems to be a perfectionist. The specially talent can break rules that average or just good singers can't get away the same risks.
Deeym, i really felt the emotions in this song
Yes!! Finally!! I was waiting for so long!!
Lisa- gurenge 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Please react to her first take of Gurenge!! If you’re looking for those high explosive notes and intensity, she delivers it all. ❤️🔥
