Yes, the song was writen and composed by Taka, Toru (leader and gitarist), and Ed Sheeran. And btw the pianist is not part of the band, haha. There is four members: Taka, Toru (guitar), Ryota (bass), and Tomoya (drums). TTRT. But they are well eatablished band and colaborate with other artists, switch their instruments at times, or organize performance with a choir or tour with an orchestra.
As said in the coments alredy, they’ve been playing together foe 16 years (this song come out this year), and Taka himself was learning to sing and perform even before that. The band sounds amazing live, they take pride in it, and they really feel the music. Taka jumps, moves around the stage, and the rest of the members you can see them moving, mouthing the lyrics when they don’t sing, well you see them feeling the music.
Btw, I always think, no matter how big the stage is, they always fill the whole space, it never feels too big for them.
I hope you react to couple more of their songs - you should really see them perform, and they truly cross many genres throughout their career - and I really enjoy such music reactions, it’s so interesting to me! Thanks!

actually judging someone's vocal skills through live or acoustic version is more accurate than judging thru the MV, no autotune's manipulation what so ever

Taka is one of a kind. He always sounds great live (I saw them live and you can find a lot of fancams that prove it), please check more live performances of him and one ok rock =) His parents and brother are singers too, so I think that family has the talent in their blood
Their songs are usually a combination of Japanese and English lyrics. But in recent years it is more on english than Japanese. Taka is a pure Japanese btw. He just took an english lesson for years to enhance his skills in speaking english.
Taka's vocal is not a usual vocals that you might hear in a rock band. His vocals are quite versatile that can fit in any kind of genre. That is why even when he cover Adelle's HELLO in original key is still amazing. Plus he also cover A Thousand Miles. Since, the band are already on their 16th year, Taka is already getting used to perform live and been keeping his vocals healthy as much as possible since live performances and concerts are where ONE OK ROCK is known for.
Please react next to Good Goodbye live please. Or even We Are, Heartache and Be the light. These songs are not rock. They are sort on a soft part of their songs.

I was initially blown away at Taka's English pronunciation and wide vocal range, as most Japanese locals barely speak English to begin with.
My ears got introduced to One Ok Rock with the song "The Beginning". Each Rurouni Kenshin live action release features a song from them as the main or ending credits themes.
By the way, did anybody tell Cheryl she looks like May J.? She's another superstar in Japan; she did the Japanese version of "Let It Go" from Frozen :)

This is one of my favorite rock bands. They're amazing
ONE OK ROCK used to play more hard rock songs, but they have shifted towards pop in recent years. They have also shifted from singing in all Japanese to about 95% English. But all of it is incredibly high quality, and Taka's voice is just fantastic! This is an acoustic version of Renegades - there is a full band electric version, too.
you guys definetly need to listen to more of them. their music is amazing! no, not the studio version, but the live version. yes, you read that right, they sound better in live! there are so many recomendation already on the comment section, but "We are" is definitely a must to listen!

I think ONE OK ROCK is pronounced "wan-oak-rak" as in 1 o'clock. The Japanese language does not have a specific pronunciation for the letters "L" and "R" so that sometimes they are interchangeable in English. For instance: "I need lest (rest)" or "Herro (Hello)". According to the web, the group liked to practice at 1 o'clock and their name is a derivative of their native pronunciation of 1 o'clock.
Yes, that’s the meaning of the name, but as that confuses quite a lot of people internationally, everyone, starting with band members themselves, are saying it ‘one okay rock’ for years now and they don’t mind it. :)

New here、and Renegade is the 4th reaction I view from you guys。From the first to the third that I watched、 my brain kept saying the gorgeous lady in blue (apologize I didn't catch the name) is the female version of Toru Yamashita、the leader and guitarist of One Ok Rock。They just look alike, except probably the eyes。
And then just imagine the amusement I had when I saw you're reacting to One Ok Rock。I was like "will they notice the similarity? 😮😯" Sadly we only see Taka in this vid and no Toru。 (sad life haha)

I would highly recommend their Studio Jam sessions (these are with the whole band not just Taka)--particularly "Taking Off." Not only is Taka's voice killer, but the way they switch from their typical hard rock composition to a smoother almost r&b vibe is incredible. Thanks for a great video!

If you want to listen to their more rock one, Mighty Long Fall or Deeper Deeper might suits you? Kanzen Kenkaku Dreamer thooo dang or the sadder one, Nobody's Home and Smiling Down. PIERCE, try listen to that one. Also some softer one like Notes'n'Words and Wherever You Are. Last Dance also good. Oh and the iconic Clock Strikes. Change is good too.
