That's because the tones alone already carry a lot of emotion. The sound, without needing to understand the language, tells a story. That's why I love japanese songs. As a long time anime watcher. there's just something about Japanese music that the emotions just hit you harder than other music. Even so, Lisa is still a league of her own.
Japanese singer are always expressive and thats what makes them great but Lisa is especially amazing in expressing this emotion. When Lisa started i got goosebumps on my whole body.. She is just too remarkable
"I don't wanna be overreacting" oh honey, it's absolutely fine. I completely understand. The first time I heard (and read the lyrics along) Homura, I cried too. I sobbed. And then I saw how LiSA got emotional in the acoustic version, I cried again
Well, the thing is that, even when you haven't seen the movie, she can transfer all the flow of emotions in a few words over a song... But, if you have already seen the movie, this song hits pretty much harder... This is what makes LISA one of the most amazings singers of all time...
That's the reason why I don't want to hear homura again after watching the movie not because its bad but because its a masterpiece the feels is so deep and hard just from the first line of the songs I'm already tearing up so much TvT
You can see that she is just natural in her element despite being so difficult what she is doing, she seems to be in the zone since the very begining and takes you with her into her world.

It's one of those songs where you don't have to understand what is being said to understand and feel the emotion behind it. She is an absolutely stunning and amazing singer.
I, honestly, truly enjoyed your video, and so much. When I first watched "Homura" by LiSA on First Take, I cried like you did. The emotions she put into her words, her singing, are incredible. And what you said in your video, "if music help you, that's great. But if you are able to help others through your music, it's absolutely unique gift", I felt that. And many people, artists, are doing it. I'm so thankful that music exist. Thank you so much for your video, I wish you the best

I have a fan of Lisa and her incredible voice for years and discovered this video as a suggestion from YT after watching (again) her "Homura" performance for The First Take. I immediately subscribed to your channel. You was describing exactly what I feel every single time I listen to this song. Isn't it crazy how a song can make you emotional even without understanding the lyrics? Great video and thank you for putting all those feelings into words! It means a lot for someone like me that may be considered by others a very cold person. It is just that I don't know how to express my feelings and emotions :)
Honestly, I’ve watched animes JUST bc LiSA wrote/sang their opening and/or closing piece/s… I literally went to see mugen train in theaters JUST to hear this song on theater speakers 😭😭😭 This song gives me chills every single time I listen to it and hearing/seeing someone else who understands and appreciates everything she’s doing with her voice and with the lyrics and just the music in general as much as - if not more than - I do is something that’s really amazing and interesting for me to see. Thank you for sharing your reaction to this song (and to this version specifically) and spreading awareness of this amazing artist and her music.
Homura is an emotional song and Lisa kills it so perfectly and flawles, she is a great performer and this is a great reaction Katrinka. Check out also another Japanese female singer and songwriter Aimer, I'm sure you'll like her.
As someone who has followed LiSA's career for the last few years now (originally heard her many years prior however in Anime, always loved her songs in the openings/endings) this has got to be my absolute favorite performance by her. It's my favorite performance of any musician honestly, it never ceases to take my breath away, and every time I hear it I always end up misty eyed (the first time I heard it I literally sobbed). Back in 2015 she had an interview about her Budokan Live Performance, she talked about how she finally felt she could sing naturally as she had issues with singing Ballad style songs previously. Through the encouragement of her fans she sang the song Shirushi at that said performance and dedicated it to her fans "As I can sing naturally at last, I want to send a ballad to my fans". Since then I've seen her grow so much as an artist and what was once something very rare for her has now become one of her greatest strengths. There's a reason why she's one of Japan's biggest and have been featured in so much media (Homura being a song from the massive Demon Slayer: Mugen Train film). I'd highly recommend Shirushi, in a way it's the very catalyst that gave her the strength to give us such an incredible performance.
I still remember LiSA forgetting lyrics at live stage in the beginning of her career like it's yesterday... , look at how much my girl has grown... T._T
Hello, Katriinka. What catch my attention is her breathing. The way she gasp air resembles like she is "crying", and the reality is that she is holding her emotions, not to cry and ruin the song. At the end of the song, she releases it. And yes, as a man, she got me... I let my tears roll down. 😅
GRacias por traer a LISA, para mi es una de las cantantes mas actuales de japon, bella, y una voz hermosa melodica, que puede cantar desde baladas hasta rock y tan agradable. Thank you for bringing LISA, for me she is one of the most current singers in Japan, beautiful, and a beautiful melodic voice, who can sing from ballads to rock and so nice.
Rira Ikuta has such a sweet plaintive voice. Her pitch control and clarity of vocal timbre are extraordinary. The way she can quickly bounce her voice up and down in pitch is crazy. The first few listens I was thinking, that's not autotuned. She's doing that herself.
this is such as good reaction video, you have the video you're reacting to up the whole time, you explained what she's doing, how she's doing it, why she's good, why you're impressed, and most importantly, you talked slowly and clearly and got the whole message across, instead of just "omg" "wtf" "laughing really loud" etc. Much better than some other reaction videos I've watched tonight. Good job, keep up the hard work!
Finally you reacted to Homura! I'm literally crying when I first heard the song! Lisa really portrayed the emotions well! I have high respect for her. When the movie was already so sad then the soundtrack was added. I'm depressed
I was waitinf so much for this!!! I also cry with this song, you could really feel the emotions there. I love Lisa so much, I love your reactions to her too!!!
You were moved to tears just like i was moved to tears, especially at the end. It was so raw, she put so much emotion into it that she drew us into her inner space. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
thank you for your honest reaction and expertly analysis, katriinka. I agree 100% with what you said about her and want to add: she really has class and style. and also a beautiful personality. this song makes me cry almost everytime I listen to it too. my favourite japanese bands have just made songs for an anime: wagakki band for anime "mars red", songs name is "mars red", eight musicians who mix traditional japanese instruments and modern instruments. bandleader yuko is an awesome singer too. lovebites for the anime "Vladlove", the song is called "winds of transylvania". all female band, probably the best metalband on the planet right now.
I heard the “goodbye” and “thankyou” and just began waiting even harder than I had throughout the whole movie ... thankfully my sister was there to comfort me and let me cry as much as I needed. And I’m going back to rewatch it later this week ... I’ll probably cry just as much
OMG, my throat hurts so much to keep my self from crying. This reaction and that lyrics which I didn't knew is possible to be enabled before and watching this video of Lisa all over again is a completely different and emotional experience. I know the song is great just basing it from it's melody but actually understanding it and connecting it to the performance of Lisa made a strong connection in me that makes me want to break in tears. Holding up your emotions, experiencing grief and doing your best to move on... this is the longest comment I made since I've been watching youtube from day 1 but it just feels so good to express this things. Thanks for this video.

What catch my attention is her breathing. The way she gasp air resembles like she is "crying", and the reality is that she is holding her emotions, not to cry and ruin the song. At the end of the song, she releases it. And yes, as a man, she got me... I let my tears roll down. 😅
when you've watched the movie, then every line in the lyric would cranked up the feel by x100.
Your tears are so beautiful. Lisa wrote this work with various thoughts, but I think you will be impressed.
This is so beautiful to see you connected with her thru music.
I was crying with both of you too😭💗love her voice
my God, LiSA is my favorite singer. She es really amazing.
my heart..this song..lisa is incredible
GRacias por traer a LISA, para mi es una de las cantantes mas actuales de japon, bella, y una voz hermosa melodica, que puede cantar desde baladas hasta rock y tan agradable.
Thank you for bringing LISA, for me she is one of the most current singers in Japan, beautiful, and a beautiful melodic voice, who can sing from ballads to rock and so nice.
hellooo~ i love your reactions to japanese singers, im a fan of j-rock and j-pop
Rira Ikuta has such a sweet plaintive voice. Her pitch control and clarity of vocal timbre are extraordinary. The way she can quickly bounce her voice up and down in pitch is crazy. The first few listens I was thinking, that's not autotuned. She's doing that herself.
@@cyberpotato63 yes, her voice is really sweet and she controls it very well. I also love her falsettos and she has a clear voice :>
She's such an amazing singer and she's absolutely gorgeous, i love her sm
this is such as good reaction video, you have the video you're reacting to up the whole time, you explained what she's doing, how she's doing it, why she's good, why you're impressed, and most importantly, you talked slowly and clearly and got the whole message across, instead of just "omg" "wtf" "laughing really loud" etc.
Each times I hear Lisa's voice, that give me chills. (Her voice is juste so impressive and carry lot of emotions)
You were moved to tears just like i was moved to tears, especially at the end. It was so raw, she put so much emotion into it that she drew us into her inner space. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
I cries the first time I watched this performance. Lisa is so talented! I love her so much. I loved your reaction to her sooo much❤
thank you for your honest reaction and expertly analysis, katriinka. I agree 100% with what you said about her and want to add: she really has class and style. and also a beautiful personality. this song makes me cry almost everytime I listen to it too.
my favourite japanese bands have just made songs for an anime:
wagakki band for anime "mars red", songs name is "mars red", eight musicians who mix traditional japanese instruments and modern instruments. bandleader yuko is an awesome singer too.
lovebites for the anime "Vladlove", the song is called "winds of transylvania". all female band, probably the best metalband on the planet right now.
thank you so so much for your recommendations!
Lisa's "Rising Hope" rocks as well. It's a fast paced Rock song. Really enjoyable!
We all cried to it, especially when it played at the end of the Demon Slayer Movie
I heard the “goodbye” and “thankyou” and just began waiting even harder than I had throughout the whole movie ... thankfully my sister was there to comfort me and let me cry as much as I needed. And I’m going back to rewatch it later this week ... I’ll probably cry just as much
Yeah I sobbed, Rengoku was and still is my favorite character
That fact you cried, it's so cool as well. Like so talented and as a vocal coach and professional singer, this is really impressive to you
OMG, my throat hurts so much to keep my self from crying.
(Spoiler)
People said that Homura song is a gift for our hero Rengoku Kyojuro. And that’s make sense for all of us to cry when hearing this song. Rengoku is our hero. Gone but never forgotten, Rengoku Kyojuro. Hope you rest in peace our hero
Please put a spoiler tag.
@@booperdooper9762 ok
@@NMDanial replace it with “a bit of a spoiler” to “spoiler” because some people may still look, get spoiled and get mad at you . If they get mad at you when you say spoiler instead of a bit spoiler then it’s on them at that point.
@@NoxxSpace ok sorry. I’ll change it right now
im okay with this lol, because spoiler is didnt matter to me hahah, glad to see someone spoiling the best moment for these songs
Very few singers can really immerse themselves in their own songs. She is one of them
ステキなreaction ありがとう!
From Japan.
I already watched that video a million times and I'm still crying 😢😭🤧
these first take episodes of LiSA, i watched it alot of times already and i still cried over and over again. her voice is a blessing, her songs are blessings. they're just too good so good
A wonderfully emotional song you can find on first take is copy-light by TK. He really goes all out in it, not only with his voice but also his guitar skills
LiSA is so amazing! You should check out her live performances doing rock songs.
9:50 This always gives me goosebumps omg 💛
i just love her! the voice and shes even so pretty! but the voice! nonstop chills and wanna cry even
A LiSA song I like that always makes me tear up when I see the specific performance is her singing Ichiban no Takaramono.
Besides Homura, I'd recommend you to listen to "Ichiban no Takaramono" and "Shirushi". Both were emotional songs by LiSA as well. Really loved this video. It only shows that you don't need to fully understand lyrics to appreciate good music. ❤️
I cry before i watch mugen train, now after I watch the movie damn its hit you harder I barely cant stop my tears
"man, the feels"
Oh god, this song sounds like this in a studio. But imagine listening to this song at the end of a film that just destroyed your feels and realize it's a song for that character.
I fell in love with this song the moment I heard it while watching Demon Slayer anime. Then, I watched Lisa's acoustic rendition so many times and each time, she never fails to evoke the intense emotions in me! Beautiful song and person.... Lisa was so authentic when she sings and shares about the song, "Homura"
Her voice and the way she sings are amazing, emotional, & give us goosebumps even if we dont understand any word she speak... Awesome ❤️❤️ LEGENDARY
The best version of Homura 🥺
This is so good that it gives me goosebumps
I'm just glad I'm not the only one who gets emotional at incredible voices.
The way she switches is just so beautiful and smooth.
