Hunting for Western Utah's Green Garnets (Grossular)!

Rockhounding for green Grossular Garnets found deep in the Wah Wah Mountains west of Milford, Utah. This is a very remote area, but the views are fantastic and the treasures are awesome! Towards the end of the video, I show some pieces that I polished as well as a piece of polished matrix with garnets inside.

why are you using a paint can opener to chisel out those garnets?

Totally a preference thing, I like using a heavy duty flat-head screwdriver for more precision chiseling.
