- Rockhounding and exploring Marysvale Utah. Found banded rhyolite with amethyst crystals and purple/pink jaspers. I make a 2 1/2 inch sphere with some of the jasper from this trip. Also visited Miner’s Park in Marysvale’s Bullion Canyon.
Those crystals are beautiful. The scenery too. Wow.
Wow, I love how you made that and it is beautiful.
Really fun to see how spheres are made! You must have invested a lot in the equipment. Thank for taking us through the process!
Thank you! Yeah it's taken a long time to get all the equipment to make the spheres. But i5tis so cool to see them come together!
👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️
This was incredible to watch! I've only just begun my rockhounding journey and will be traveling to the Park City area for a 4 day conference in a couple weeks; do you have any recommendations on places to hound?
At one time you could find decent petrified wood in the Silver Creek Junction area (Southeast of I-80), but I haven't been out there in several years and last I heard it has been developed over. Still might be worth checking out.
I would leave some faceted!
Fun video. I was at Big Rock Candy mountain a few weeks ago. It is unclear which rock you used to make the sphere. Can you clarify which one it was?
Thanks! That is such a unique and fun area. I make the sphere from the rock picked up at about the 1:57 mark in the video.
Do you have coordinates for the area you found the rocks please?
