- The Cardwell mining team kicks off a new season with big ambitions. With only a 60 day mining window, the crew rushes to open up aquamarine and topaz pockets on the North and South Face. They also race to carve out a new road to the Snow Patch, giving them unprecedented mining access with the excavator.

Love this show. Love the production on it. Never overdramatized, always informational and feels like I'm in the pockets with the miners. As a rockhound, love the insights into the process and the knowledge you're sharing. Better than anything on Discovery or on cable.
We can propel them financially for all the education by liking and commenting on each of their videos. That's how they get elevated by RUclips and their paychecks get bigger. It's my small contribution for all the great content.

As good as any TV channel can do maybe even a little bit better. Impressive what you guys are doing after those tv shows cancelled.

I think ive watched all of these now, and just realized this episode was filmed only last year! If you're into digging and want to take a trip, do it! Ill always remember running around in Idaho, hills full of gold and garnets!

Hey, note on the topaz....Brazilian topaz does not fade like the US material, Ive never seen a reason why. And 'sherry' topaz is much, much darker than that seen here, a gorgeous red-brown with gold highlights and enough fire to make you wet your pants. The color shown here is closer to imperial, a peachy gold.
Dont mean to nitpick, but topaz is my favorite stone. 😁

Good to hear about long hair digging and collecting his treasures something new to hear and see. The digger operator and his safety man must have nerves of steel. Nice to watch and hear about your exploits with the ancient ice pockets you need to move to make your access tracks.
LOL that guy hiding his topaz from the sun. Most topaz doesn't fade unless it's been treated. And even if it does fade, it takes days to weeks.

My kids just bought a house that last sold in 1986 for $125 thousand and paid $ 2.2 million.
Their mortgage payments ( on $1.2 million) are less than their rent was in a crappy suburb.

that imperial topaz unheated is some of the best in the biz!!
You guys should try using a recirculating water system to wash away material and classify it would be way easier to find them in that sandy material.
I've long wondered why they don't use such a system. It's not like they would have to carry water up the mountain...rain, ice, and snow should provide more than enough, a few cisterns dug at the upper elevations could gravity feed pretty much anywhere below. Water dug the Grand Canyon...its use in mining is long established. And water won't shatter delicate crystals or crystal formations. Solar should provide enough power for a circulating pump.
