They should've made it multiplayer like, Secret, legends, Trials OG. Guess studio got hamstrung by Netease during development, Development lead discussed it during an interview.
I'm 13 hours in and I like it. It's vibrant artstyle is so fairy tale like. The characters are all fun loving. The combat system is easy to pick up and like your simple old school JRPG. The music is superb. The character and monster designs match the rest of the world very much. I just wished the monsters were made a bit bigger. Felt underwhelming to feel like I'm fighting bugs all the time 😂. Game also has great pacing in terms of difficulty even on normal and I didn't really struggle till that Daephalos guy. All in all, if you want a simple and relaxing game to play this one is perfect to pick up. If you want a game similar to the Tales games this one is it. The only downside I have is the writing
A very fair & informative video review dude. I wasn't excepting a masterpiece from this; I mean what Mana game is a masterpiece? But aside from a few hiccups, this is as good as this series gets for us. Visions has a truckload of content, it looks amazing, the characters are very likeable, great combat, the works you want from this series. And so far, everyone seems to love this entry. Sucks that the dev studio behind it closed tho but I'll support this series so that the next game will be even better.
@@cwavygaming6615The Mana series is owned by Square Enix, the studio that shut down was hired by them to do the game. Trials of Mana (the remake that came recently and directly influenced this game) was done by a completely different studio.
@@bomunited6892 ahh okay thanks for the Clarification. I’m not familiar with the series at all.. somehow it managed to skip me I never heard of it until recently
What really kills me about this game is that I can't expect any patches or updates for those small little bugs because the studio that made it basically shut down right after it launched. Still, it seems a good game to pick up.
I like the southern accent, i just want others in her village to carry some southern speech patterns. I haven’t heard the Japanese VO, but in other media these brash characters have Kansai dialect and the English VO will approximate with a different accent.
The game looks beautiful, but i can't help but be hesitant because the studio was closed down immediately after release ... which means no further support or expansions most likely.
Your thoughts are almost the exact same as mine. Also the ring menu not working correctly is pretty annoying, so it's not just you. Looking forward to find out why they need to sacrifice people.
There's SO many games coming out in the next 2 months that I'm going to have to pick and choose! I think I'll definitely pick this up around the holiday season when it goes on sale! For now I have my heart set on Astro Bot and the Persona spin-off game that's set in a fantasy/medieval world!
I’m trying to 100% the game right now i beat the story 5 days ago and i can honestly say this is the best ARPG I’ve ever played only complaints i have is there be areas I’m exploring and i’d like to climb up to get certain things and my characters can’t climb so i have to remind my self that i need to find a tool to get to that location and the only real negative i have with the combat is the lock on mechanic sometimes while fighting bosses it will change location or it will delock and not hard lock back on causing me to have to back up utilize magic lock on then start melee attacking behind the boss to avoid hits up close
Just finished Trails of mana, this game looks very similar, just a bit more polished. think ill give FF16 a go before going straight into another mana game. especially because trails and visions of mana looks near identical.
Her southern accent is actually spot on, they're just annoyed with the accent itself, lol. Have you HEARD Applejack from MLP? THAT accent is WAY thicker than this one.
I definitely felt like this game was a solid 9 until (Minor spoilers) i unlocked the world map and it still didnt let me teleport between continents. Why force me to go through four loading screens when it could have just been one from a tree. It's not like there's even anything hidden in the world map everything is locked until the story progresses far enough. I was also really frustrated you had to beat the game to unlock end game things. Like stop telling me i shouldnt go there, im literally at the final boss let go of my hand already!
A solid 9? Thinking of getting this. It doesn't look too chibi so I might like it. I didn't like the newest dragon quest game it was far too basic in playstyle and design but this looks like a cute tales of arise
@@rushpatriot2866 yeah the combat is pretty fun though playing on hard feels a bit grindy late game since your team mates die so easily and you basically have to solo everything. And fast travel late game gets tedious even when using the maridians. But if you play on normal you have a ton of flexibility with your team and can play around with classes much more. Just far too much one shoting to your teammates on hard mode and it can really feel tedious. But until the last 10% of the game it's great if not a little too hand holdy for a bit too long
I just started Takes of Arise a few days ago, i'm not really feeling the combat outside, especially when not playing Alphen(Shionne & Rinwell are meh to me). Do you like Visions better in that regard?
I recently restarted Tales of Arise, and put maybe 15hrs into a new playthrough before Visions of Mana came out. I've got about 10hrs in Visions, and 100+hrs in Arise. ~Arise: locks you into your animations. You cannot dodge-cancel out of them, so you're committed once you start. This game is all about timing, and flow. You really succeed when you are patient, and play around the enemy. It's a game about breaking guard, then juggling/stun locking enemies into long and very rewarding combos. Every character plays very differently, and they are each needed for different situations - true mastery of Arise means being familiar with your team members, and swapping between them as needed. The combat has a very steep learning curve. You can play all the way through the post-game DLC and still not really feel like it 'clicks' - but when it does, it is suuuuper rewarding. · Pro-tip: on harder difficulties, increase your 'penetration' stat. This is the stat that governs guard-breaks, and it's necessary to not get absolutely bodied. ~Visions: combat is much more maneuverable. You have infinite dashes, no stamina, and can spam your attack chains to your hearts content. There is no reason to slow down in this game, just keep moving and pressuring. You are constantly fed a stream of HP, MP and CS in the field - so you never really have to worry about your health/abilities. Just go crazy. Visions has a very low skill ceiling. Combat is simpler, and much also easier to just pick-up and play. In other games this might be a turn-off, but (like everything else in Visions), the simplicity really works in it's favor. The combat is tight, punchy, and fun. · Pro Tip: dash-cancel-everything. Val's dash to heavy attack on his default class (Guard) is absolutely bonkers, it hits hard and you can float around any enemy and hit them with it repeatedly.
I would say I like combat in Tales of Arise more but visions of mana is WAY easier to play other characters besides the main character. I’ve played as Morley my entire play though so far. With Tales Of Arise I tried to play with rinwell for an hour it didn’t work and I gave up lol.
I'm still considering buying this game. I've always enjoyed these games and I really like the art style. I just don't like the main character. If there's a female main character right there then why does Val need to look androgynous. I wish they would have made him look more tough.
Definitely get it. The game is a 9 or 10. All this guys cons are him just not utilizing features. 1. Camera he said it’s bad well the dude isn’t even focus targeting by pressing right analog stick which fixes the camera. 2. Facial expressions and lips don’t match up. Play it in Japanese case closed. The game is pretty perfect my only complaint is wish there was 1 difficulty higher.
LMAOOOO ONLY KNOWING PILGRAMIGE FROM FF10 IS WAY TOO RELATABLE 😭 Great video btw!!! Could I ask a question, I’m fine with being spoiled (so spoiler warning to anyone reading this) but does the end goal ever end up switching from sacrificing ourselves to the mana tree? I’m on the fence with this game but I know I’d end up hella disappointed if the tradition continues and the small doubts that some have aren’t addressed, so I just wonna ask before I buy :P
we're looking closely at the sex on this game as it seems to take place on the earth and thus all inhabitants should've had the chance to play this game. we're looking quite poorly honestly, as the VGA connections inline with their retinas are not proper. the developers delivered us the game we want but not on the correct console (which was literally them this time) ... how foolhardy
What are your thoughts so far on Visions Of Mana?
I am on 12hours and really love it. The graphic is what I hope for next gen jrpg standard. Combat is very good and beautiful.
Definitely one of the weaker entries

It’s a shame the owners sacked 75 percent of staff the next day after release even with the game being a success
your appreciation of the artstyle and the sincerity and passion that went into the design is what mainstream video game journalism is missing
I love this game for how simple it is. Something fun for me to turn my brain off at the end of the day and just play
It's simple in good ways, the ability trees are complex enough to be interesting

Ring menu command not doing anything is a real issue for VoM. It was not like this in Trials remake.
You dont have to use ring if you dont like time stop. You can use shortcut instead.
