I live in Al Quds & I'm actually making Makloubay as we speak...I fry everything and then place on paper towels..also I add fried shareya to my rice before assembling..plus I add fried tomatoes...my house right now smells AMAZING!!! Shukron, Chef Kat, Sa'tain! MashaAllah yr Grandson is so precious.
I just made and fried the tomatoes this time round . Delicious ❤ Alhamdullillah

About 12 years ago I ate this the first time at my in-laws home when they saw me for the first time.. We ate it many times after but as I hear you speak about eating it with your family it made me so sad.. cause I will never have the opportunity again after my father in-law passed away about 2 years ago now. We're sepperated long time ago but I still think about beeing with them all the little Kids who now have their own families and do the same we did.. Thank you for the Video. :')

Boil the veg( bake in oven) , fry the chicken with onion, garlic, salt, cardamom, turmeric, black pepper, nutmeg, garam masala, add water later on.
Separate the water .
After cooling down the vegetable add them into the chicken pot. Fry a bit.
Soak the rice ,
2 chicken, 2 cups of water, 2 cups of rice

I like this dish without frying and you have done it healthy , other youtubers fry all the ingredients veges, meat but I like your recipe which calls for less oil. yummy dish

The maklouba in Libya is so different, your right about the Veges being fried but then we put the veges at the bottom and then add the rice and then the broth and let it soak after that we flip ,.
As for the chicken it’s baked in the oven after it’s cooked in the broth separate
YB every culture has variations as thats how we learn from each other throughout history
