      Fully agree. I have bought new headphones as something is off with my current ones. I was VERY surprised when I heard the video on youtube today. On my computer the sound was much more in the background.

    Great video. I did some juniper cuttings 2 years ago from juniper on my mothers front-garden. They are still small, but they grow healthy.

    Wonderful video. I picked up the most interesting juniper from the nursery last week and didn’t realize it not only has mirroring cascade branches but also mirroring branches going up and then arching back down. After watching your video I’m going to try this air layer method this fall before removing the branches I decide to cut off. I’m already looking forward to next spring.

    Great video but if you want to see aa better zelkova sacrifice branch then you neeed to see Alex Brauntons - it is incredible what he has deceloping in a wooden box! I am definitely goig to try the tourniquet method this october after seeing what you achieved. Did you tighten it enough that you could see it had dug into the cambium?

    • @GrowingBonsai

    • @GrowingBonsai

      Quite tight, to the point that is really compressed the bark (bites in)

      Normally, mostly somewhere around mid-spring.

    Hello, I recently bought a Wisteria Geisha and a Wisteria Harlequin. I want to make them into bonsai plants. Could you please tell me how long to keep the wires on?

    • @GrowingBonsai
      @GrowingBonsai  10 месяцев назад

      Wisteria is usually flexible quite long. So I would guess you need to unwire and rewire branches multiple times to avoid scarring.

  • @jjj7665
    @jjj7665 Год назад

    Do you do all your air layering by twisting wire, or do you also cut the bark all the way round on some other trees like Japanese maples.

    • @GrowingBonsai
      @GrowingBonsai  Год назад

      Nah, the wire is rare for me! Did you see these? ruclips.net/video/z6wi2C4eh_Q/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/8xlNdEq_r6g/видео.html

    I can do this, but during winter we have loads of snow, so that will compact the whole plant so it would resemble a sqatting/ creeping juniper 😅. But in pots it's ok under civer. Do you live in The Netherlands, or België?
