This was written about my mother who dated and was engaged to Clive Westlake, the composer. They never married, believed he married 3 times, but my mother remained friendly with his sister. I only discovered this the day before she died in April 2019, can only listen to it when strong enough. The words actually personify who my mother was! RIP Mum x

Times were different back then, my grandmother wouldnt allow my mother to follow him to London, he then went off with someone else. Yes, extremely special. I knew they dated and he wrote for a number of people but it was only through a conversation with a friend of hers i discovered he wrote a song about mum. The friend couldnt remember the song so as my mum was dying i just had to aske. She never talked about him out of loyalty to my Dad.
Impressive performance. With the poor systems of the era, and she still sounds totally amazing, puts to shame all that X factor garbage. An outstanding natural talent.

Love watching Dusty. I use to sing her songs all the time and mom said my uncle would stand outside my door to hear me sing. I really had no idea and I love to sing even today! Took voice lessons when I was in high school. I love music and Dusty was a great inspiration!
Saw Dusty live on stage at the famous Batley Variety Club and again at the Fiesta Club Wakefield .Wonderful memories of happy times to be treasured forever. RIP.

The original X factor sensation! Extraordinary panoramic voice, one of the first songs that I could hear the lyrics to, every word. To a 5 year old that meant a lot, amongst the wild, loud crashing psychedelic guitar heroes of the era! ... not to mention a great timeless song, regardless of genre.

I love this song (actually, I like almost everything she put out, and the fact that unlike a lot of performers, she didn't lip-synch except on "Top of the Pops", but this song especially with the hand-motions and that hairdo is so camp...
She was what she was and we should recognize her musical and personality for what it was. It seemed to me that when she was singing she sang to something/someone in her mind and this is very different from later soloists who try to squeeze every last response from the audience to inflate their ego and the audience reaction means more to them than the words of the song. She also had good diction and we can usually hear every word that she sings.
