Poor Marcus...Just imagine living centuries of depression all because your own 'Brother' killed your mate just to keep you prisoner for his use. I loved Marcus, a tired soul trapped in limbo...this was the only time I wished that vision was true; like that man was looking forward to finally having his suffering end god damn it!

Biologically they aren't brothers, but they treat each other as such- Marcus was mates with Dydime who was Aro's biological sister who Aro killed and blamed Dracula 1 and 2's coven for it (hence why they out everyone in the Cullen's families witnesses wanted to fight the Volturi the most)
Even though I’ve never read the books, but hearing him say that, probably he wanted to be killed so bad. In the end, he is happy that no killing is necessary and that he want peace. And peace of mind.
I am, shamelessly, a big Twilight fan. I've read the books multiple times and watched the movies multiple time. Aro is really a character full of power lust
i agree and can see Renesme taking him down later on with the help of her family when shes a little older by slowly melting him with her charms of making him trust her then pulling the rug out from under him.
except for the gender switch version of the first book and the brief second life of bree i have all Twilight books and the complete saga of the films and i love them all

I'm a proud twilight fan as well and nobody gives Aro credit for playing all the angles when he meets Bella for the first time. He comes across as a "gracious" host, then his venomous side is revealed just as quickly when he threatens Edward in New Moon. You never know when or what side of himself is going to strike and that makes him and interesting character and not your typical villain.@@deborahminter6231
I always assumed that he had lived so long that he was tired of living.
That and he lost the love of his life whom he wanted to spend eternity wit, he became so depressed and hollow he's merely a shell at this point

If im correct it likely through the eyes of other people though there was likely more room to be creative as she couldn't figure out what they do individually.
I think maybe because she knows about them where as before she didn't.
Alice can see wolves in her vision, but not greatly. It's like she has to go through a block, but she can still see them through others as well.
She might have a niece who became a werewolf as in the term was bitten by one and given if her niece is still Young after all these years ultimately her niece has hidden her tracks well
She can’t see long term to give a example will Bella live when jakes around becouse there are dozens of variables that could cause him to transform so when she cliff dived if the current had been to strong or he couldn’t pull her back as a human he’d have gone wolf but In battle it would be easier because they would stay wolves they don’t turn back when they die
I read the books. Marcus wanted to die, because his wife whom he loved was killed. He wanted death to be with his beloved Didamea.
Aro did care for his sister, yes, but idk if he actually thought she had a gift and was just someone who was just a nice person and the other vampires liked her. Marcus was the original three and Aro wanted to have a united front/Marcus' power was good in battle cuz he could see the bonds of the opponent & could also weaken/break their bonds.
The Cullen clan was different since their "vegetarian" lifestyle made them form stronger bonds than a traditional human blood diet.
Marcus is what Edward would be like if Bella had died. Vampires in this world are the forever kind, once they fall in love it's forever and when they lose a love one it's a forever grief.
Marcus is suicidal but Aro uses one of his members (idr who) to bind Marcus to their coven but Marcus refuses using another member's powers to make him happy.
The member is Chealsea. She is the one that can break/weaken bonds ans form new ones if the original ones are not strong enough
Aro specifically chose his biological sister to turn into a vampire in the hopes that she would have a powerful “talent” as he does. She did end up having one but it was effectively useless to Aro and his quest for power - the ability to make people happy. When Aro joined forces with Marcus and he and Didyme fell in love, they decided after a while to leave as they grew tired of Aro’s war mongering lifestyle. Aro did love his sister, but not enough to overrule his lust for power. Because Marcus’s gift to read emotional bonds was much more vital to Aro than didyme’s, he killed her to prevent Marcus from leaving the coven. Soon after this he recruited a vampire named Charmion (which she later updated to Chelsea to keep up with the time period), who could break and bind emotional ties. Aro used her to keep Marcus tied to the volturi, and he also uses Corin who can immerse people with a feeling of contentment to keep Marcus within his grasp.
All this side lore of the other vampires and their connections makes me want to re-read twilight again, I haven't in I'd say... 10 years? And this is coming from somebody who reads Harry Potter once a year and the Throne of Glass series over and over lol.
I feel bad for Marcus
Not in a vision but in reality the final movie would’ve been perfect timing for Marcus to finally gotten revenge against Aro who was an ass and I don’t think for a second he didn’t genuinely love his sister
The genderbend 10th anniversary book actually makes him do that, where he rules the Volturi with Sulpicia and Athenodora
Now... WHY COUDN'T STEPHANIE CREATE A BOOK WITH THAT BACKGROUND AND THEN MAKE A MOVIE ABOUT IT? She really chose to give us a different book that's basically the same thing, just different font....
She was originally going to make a whole universe it’s why eatch of the groups has single members the frist 4 books were to create the universe the other were going to explore it she confirmed that there were going to be a few prequel‘s kinda like how she did Bree tanner and some set later like the alaskan leaders but when midnight sun’s frist chapter got leaked it killed her desire to write them

It looked to me like he welcomed the final, inevitable confrontation, and ripped both their arms off with little effort, destroying them and thus ending that long, drawn out vendetta they had against him.

Although I never read the book or heard of it, but I think that in that alternate timeline, Marcus and his new companions ruled the coven and all vampires far better. With mercy and reason, without Jane and her dark gift. By the way, given the graphics of Beautiful Creature. I would think they're in the same universe.

Marcus wanted to die because his mate, his other half, was killed by her brother, (which he didn’t know but in Life & Death, he finds out.) He wanted to die forever ago and Aro wouldn’t let him. And finally dying, he’s thinking, about fucking time! THE END!

The Twilight world has a bunch of stuff that never made it to the movies, as with any book to film adaptation, the Twilight books are WAY better. Example Caius, is terrified of werewolves. In the book Edward revealed two things to Bella after the standoff with the Volturi. Caius was almost killed by a werewolf and he never let go of that grudge against them so, He led a crusade and almost had them all exterminated. (Think Viktor from Underworld but more like a whiny fool than a warlord.) In the book he was extremely angry when the Quileute shapeshifters showed up.
The second thing is that, before He saw Alice's vision, Aro was terrified of Bella. Edward revealed to Bella that she basically won the day. The thing Aro values most is Power (as was again stated in this video) Bella managed to neutralize all of the most offensive and deadly powers the Volturi had at their disposal. The vision Alice showed Aro, only confirmed his fears but Bella, was was what truly scared him.
It was also stated in the book that one day the Volturi would come again and perhaps that one day they'd be ready to be rid of the Voluri altogether. THAT, I want to see, A new twilight series that isn't simply visions and a love story but, an all out war against the Volturi.
Also despite them being called Vampires, they are really more like living statues. Still love the book series, was not a fan of the movie adaptations.

You'd think Aro would want to steer utterly clear of Edward, a mind reader, who could see every corrupt thing Aro had done for power. One look and Eddy could turn the Volturi against it's own leader as well as most other vamps prolly cause I imagine Aro stepped on a lot of necks in order to be in the potistion he is in currently...
Aro knows that so he keeps his thoughts very well near him. Also he knows a lot about Edward and everything he has ever mind read for his entire vampire existence so of course, if Edward knew, Aro could just blackmail him into revealing any of his or his friends' secrets
This is actually super depressing. It is similar to Louis' depression from the Anne Rice Vampire Chronicles as he never got over Claudia's death.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.. alice cant see the future when shapeshifters are around. I think she said she see humans' future because she was one. Same with vampires, but not warewolves and half vampires.. so i dont understand the vision about the fights with the wolves and jacobs and renesmes happily ever after at end of the movie.

I was not surprised. Any time he was on screen it was very clear he was old and exhausted and was over it and didn't want to be there anymore. He was like that back when Carlisle lived with them and was even worse a few hundred years later as would be expected. He just endured it. He actually seemed nice to me. Aro manipulated him using Chelsea's loyalty power to make him stay after he secretly killed Marcus' wife, his sister. I don't see why Marcus was that important. Aro could just read their thoughts to see what people thought of each other and determine their relationships. It was odd that many people couldn't see he wasn't still in it when it was so obvious. I question if he was ever really in it like Aro and Caius. If he was he eventually began to become uncomfortable with their growing then acquired power and need to uphold the laws they made. He winces when a vampire is executed and Carlisle looks away in the 18th century. Aro and Caius are very fully into it. He later in the present time says "Let us be done with this" and "You already know what you are going to do" to Aro clearly not part of the decision. Then "Thank you for your visit!" almost like he is half off his rocker or is just actually a nice guy in comparison to Aro and Caius. He is NEVER involved in whatever plans or thoughts Aro and Caius have and they have to explain it to him and he is not interested at all. He says "At least our dispute with the Cullens is OVER" in the BD1 mid credit scene and Aro corrects him saying they had something he wants while Caius grins evilly. Marcus is fully checked out and not participating in all of his scenes. I'm not sure how anyone missed that.
Yes but Aro has to touch them to do that. While Marcus can feel the intensity from a distance. It is also unaffected by Bella's shield

Never read the books, but most of these characters backgrounds intrigue me and now I can’t help but want to read the books where it’s more in depth. Marcus’ story is tragic, and it was no wonder he was the calmest out of them.

I don't know how the rest of y'all feel about immortality, but I don't embrace it. After seeing all my friends and family die around me, and the world consistently continue to choose hate and violence, I'd be ready to leave the earth after so many years. I'm not suicidal, but whats the point of living when anyone who knew you is dead?
I think death is a huge part of life, realistically, we’re not here because of god, we evolved to the point we’re at today, we all have a life cycle, I think fear of the unknown is what gets a lot of us.. I think we all have potential to have a purpose, it’s why I do these videos, if I can impact someone’s life positively then I’ll feel fulfilled… death doesn’t frighten me, it’s leading an unfulfilled life that does..no matter what we do, we all die one day, that can’t be changed, find your purpose and excel the best you can..

Wasn’t Marcus originally a priest who hunted vampires and eventually was caught and changed by one? So didn’t he end up as a vampire against his will? I thought I remember in Eclipse that the Italians were celebrating St. Marcus day, and I though he was the Marcus who had been martyred.
No, he posed as a priest but hed been alive for years before Christianity. Theyre suspected to be as "young" as 3000 years but could be older.
I don't know about Marcus, but one vampire that definitely fits your description is Carlisle Cullen.

It's just weird bc them ending it with everything being perfect and the Volturi just leaving.... like that isn't going to happen... I want another book made with them coming back. Except I know Stephany would have to write about the grooming situation she made with Jacob and Rigor-mortis and I just can't read anymore of that crap.... Unless she wrote a new book just based off the Volturi... She could still have some kind of love story within I guess, or she could just make something not romance related... Also Marcus has the dumbest powers.... His mate obviously had better powers than him and she would have been a lot more useful! Making people feel happy! That could be a very useful and manipulative thing to do to people... Aro would have seen it as useful... Also, if he was willing to kill his own sister then I am 100% sure he would still come after the Cullens... The battle was won, but not the war... Aro will come back...
Actually his mate was disposable compared to her. Aro has Chealsea who can create bonds between people and break bonds that are weak. So with the ability of Marcus to see bonds and chealsea's (who is kept in the shadows because she is the one makes it so all the volturi members follow Aro) he is pretty much invincible on the loyalty front.
Also there was suppose to be other books about the rest of the world but because midnight sun got leaked she did not want to continue with it.

and here is the problem with how Marcus was tricked, hes power should have shown him the trap he was about to walk into as Arus elengcens chanced. + aru should have seen that both Marcus and hes wife would return, but non of this happend just to make Aru hated!! much like in the "final battle" there was a vampyer that could have made sure no one died as he can controle fire but this was also forgotten to setup the revenge-plot for the "Collinens-clan. I turly hate how superpowers seems to be forgotten to setup some stupid plot or cover a plot-hole
