- How Vampires Cause The ShapeShifter(Wolf) Gene To Activate. Shapeshifters are not werewolves, which is a big confusion in twilight. The shapeshifter power is triggered by the presence of vampires in the area and in today's video i'm going to explain why and how it happens alongside the story of Taha Aki, the first ever shapeshifter of the Quileute Tribe.

That’s another thing about Twilight that I wish was explored a bit more. That whole conflict between the children of the moon and the vampires sounded like some epic underworld action! But sadly, the whole of Twilight is just Bella’s perspective rather than the world and lore as a whole. Are there shape shifters for other animals? Are there werepanthers or werebears? Sounds interesting to me, but sadly it wasn’t interesting to the Edward obsessed Bella.

In new moon I think they were hinted and the werewolves can walk through wolf shifters and match any vampire physically do u think they should have more hints about the werewolves or glimpses?
They’re considered natural enemies of vampires because they share the same food source (humans) and each is an exception to the other’s near indestructibility. Caius nearly lost a fight with one so he had them hunted down and almost entirely eradicated millennia before the beginning of the series. It’s also known that James hunted one across Siberia which is why Victoria and Laurent mistook the quileute wolves for being true werewolves, apparently they look very similar in their wolf forms but children of the moon are slightly more ape like in their build.

Didn't they say that shape shifters can continue to be young as long as they continue to transform?
As long as vampires are around. And after that they will age much slower.

@@DANNYTHEFROG123vampires trigger the shapeshifter gene as a defence mechanism. Shapeshifters are functionally immortal as long as they act as guardians of the tribe but if they retire from the role and stop shapeshifting they start ageing normally.
@@DANNYTHEFROG123vampires only awaken the genes , it is completely up to the shapeshifter on how long they want to keep shifting. My guess for most of their reasons to stop is to not outlive their family/ tribe members that they are originally born with
Yes as long as shifters shift to wolf and back frequently their biological aging essential stops. So they can be immortal if they so choose.
Even the old man Black.. I forget his name.. said that they are not werewolves. They where shape shifters.. and only chose the wolf, because of the story.
I have tried to explain to my non reading friends and family that the wolves are shape shifters. They don’t believe me 😂.
They still phase into werewolves so why not just say that

They can also transform into more than just wolves but they choose wolves because of the legend
I feel like there was a bit of wasted opportunity here to get into the quileutes first contact with vampires, the third wife’s sacrifice to save the tribe in particular was a powerful part of the story. One thing I’ve always wondered about was that after Taha Aki mourned for his dead wife, he left the tribe in wolf form and never returned. Because the wolves don’t age as long as they’re consistently transforming, this means that even after so many centuries, it’s possible that Taha Aki could still be alive somewhere, wandering the forest.
Maybe but I don't think he is near their forest or the other wolves would have come across him

3:11 it’s impossible for him to be searching for vampires at this time, because they did not know they existed. He was searching for enemies of the tribe.
The tribe actually knew about vampires for a while even before they became shapeshifters. There were legends and stories. They didn’t know it was fact till the early shapeshifters came into contact with one generations before the unknown couple shows. In new moon there’s a whole 2 chapters basically on all of this. Unfortunately the movie just makes it seem like they only knew when the unknown couple came to town
@@Alymylove no they didn’t. That’s why it even says that they thought the female was a goddess because she was shining bright and speaking in a unknown language that was all after he had Shapeshift powers.
@@mistyb1183it's crazy how multiple people can "supposedly* watch/read the SAME things VERBATIM and some understand very clearly what they read/saw while others legitimately make up their own stories and/or completely missed... The important in your face details therefore mixing up timelines while simultaneously incorrectly relaying the information within those timelines if not eradicating it completely.
It's something I've come be more and more fascinated with the last few years because although dealing with my whole life, I never latched on or even considered what was happening. Assuming the wrong individuals just didn't read/watch whatever the subject is and only heard a summary or explanations from 3rd parties. But a few years ago is when I became aware of that not Always being the case, in fact it's OFTEN not the case. Which... Put my brain in to a mandatory factory reset 😂 I was like "well then wtf is wrong with them?!" I know thats mean but that's what I genuinely thought 😂😂😂

@@unchaineDLife when they are on the cliff top, they talk about how the other tribes had been having people being taken from the tribes and killed they wind up finding the mail and out of sheer luck kill him then when the female came to the village, it was a sunny day, so therefore her skin reflected the sun, and they thought she was a goddess, and she was speaking in a foreign language. There was many of them that fell down to her, and this is all after he turned to the shape shifting, and he had children at no time before did they know of vampires!!!!!!
I'm reading eclipse right now and I am on this part, the council meeting.
What happened was they were searching for a threat to a neighboring tribe called the Makahs. A lot of the women of the tribe had disappeared. While searching They caught a very sweet smelling scent. A scent so sweet it burned their noses. They didnt know what it could have been but they followed it anyways. They left as a group of 5, they traveled so far north tracking this scent that they ended up sending the younger two back to the harbor to report their findings so far. The three brothers never made it back. The chief, Taha Aki, mourned his sons. He sought out the chief of the Makahs in his mournung clothes. The chief believed his grief and all tensions were gone between the two tribes. But a year later, two maidens from the Makahs disappeared. The Makahs called on the Quileute wolves again. And they found that same sweet smell. Only one came back. He was the son of chief Taha Akis third wife. (look up the story on the third wife stuff the chief imprinted on her) he told them of a creature hard as granite cold as ice. When the caught up with the cold one he has killed on of the Makah maidens and promptly snapped the neck of the other after draining her of her blood. He said "his lips were covered with her blood and eyes glowing red". His brother underestimated the strength of this creature. Only his sharp teeth could rip this creature to pieces. But it was like the creature was trying to put itself back together. Hence why even the Cullen's say you have to rip them apart and burn the pieces. The surviving brother brought back the pieces. And showed the tribe how the hands were reaching out for one another. So they burned the pieces and shattered the ash brought the Forrest and the sea. Taha Aki kept a small bag of ashes around his neck so that he would be warned if the pieces ever found their way back to each other to put itself back together again. And their fear after was that the cold one wasn't alone. And he wasn't. He had a mate. She came back to wreak havoc among the tribe. To avenge her mate.
i would like it if they either continued the twillight movie serie or do a prequal movie/serie.
As an south east asian we still believe of real vampires to this day, and we had local names for them like mananagal & aswang...
Could you do some videos covering “what we do in the shadows”? It’s a funny show about vampires. I saw it suggested on another video and I thought it was a good idea.

The Native American tribe in Twilight are not vampires, they are shapeshifters. When they feel the cold spirits (vampires in anmars) they transform into werewolves. (They are not like other Werewolves who are cursed spirits). Indigenous people have various ornaments around their necks that are identical with the totem temple. Some: eagles and others bears and some wolves. Those who have wolf jewelry can transform themselves like a wolf from the wilderness, with the help of the ancestral spirits.
The Indians of Twiligt are born with this shapeshifting ability, and are therefore not cursed. (That means they can control the transformation). But the form they change to is Werewolf. (because only this type of wolf can kill vampires). ordinary wolves cannot.
Werewolf means: half human and half animal. (Don't call it big wolf). Wolves not big. They are like the wolves in the wilderness. Jackob is the son of the Indian chief and is related to one of the ancestors who transformed for the first time. (something he says when there is a disagreement with the Alpha male)
Shapeshifters are not something to be taken lightly, most of us Native American's don't talk about them. They are very real. I'm Native American and a tribal elder, a shapeshifter is normally half man half coyote and can walk on two legs. But different tribes have different thoughts on this matter.

"we are shape shifters, spirit warriors". They would leave their bodies in spirit form and protect their land from larger tribes using a great magic.
They only began shifting wolves when the chief, Taha Aki, shunned one of the other spirit warriors because unlike the others this particular spirit warrior thought they should use their magic to make the neighboring tribe their slave and take their land etc. So Taha Aki kiked him out. He got mad, jumped into Taha Akis body when Taha was in spirit form. Killed his actual body, pretended to be Taha Aki and chief. And then banned the other spirit warriors from shifting because he knew Taha Aki would expose him the first moment he could. So he would send a giant wolf to terrorize the tribe to try and kill the imposter. But he never coukd. Then one day he thought to ask the wolf if he could enter his body and the wolf obliged. He went down to the tribe in the wokfs body and tried coaxing them to shift. The other shifters could tell something was up and that the wolf was being influenced by another spirit warrior. And one of them gave in and shifted into their spirit form. Only the imposter killed him before he could expose him.
The anguish and fury and rage Taha Aki felt was that of a man, stephanie writes. Too much for a wolf to hold on it's own. Something happens and he transformed into a man. Not his same human body that was taken over by the imposter (I forget his name 🙄) but it resembled how his spirit form did. Like a ghost I would assume but different than his actual human form. So the other spirit warriors recognized him. He killed the imposter. Went on to imprint on a third wife, had children. Then realized that once his children reached a certain age of man hood, they would also shift into a wolf.
The thing is, if they don't want that life style any more, they don't have to have it. All they have to do is be able to control when the phase. Until then, they dont age. One chief stayed that way to live the life of three old men until he found who he imprinted on and decided he wanted to die when she did so he stopped phasing and aged once again with her.
It's actually quite interesting. I'm glad I decided to reread all these books at an older age. I read them all back in 5-6th grade. In the movie, Billy Black only tells the tale of how the third wife sacrifices herself. Not how their magic came to be.
