  • All too often golfers are held back from playing their best golf due to poor or misunderstood concepts surrounding the golf swing.
    In this video Chris addresses 3 of the most common of these including rotation, leg action and an important downswing move.
    Sometimes just being a little clearer on how to perform the golf swing can significantly enhance your shots.

    Thanks, these things need reminding regularly. My game has improved so much these last 2 weeks from watching your tuition. Good work Chris.

    I really like the tempo of your swing. I find that the slower I take the club back, the more consistent my contact is. I'd love to see a video on tempo and how it affects strike and balance.

    Love your videos simple to the point I do have a question. I have a tendency when I get on the Green in regulation to get over-excited and it usually ends up in Striking my first putt too firmly. Is there anything that I could use in my pre putt routine that might help me calm down and avoid this mistake?

    I would like to be able to achieve a divot while using irons. I see most of the good players do this. Thanks!

    great video Chris and beautiful course.... have you had a chance to play the course there ?.....for the people who say no lateral move to the left they should look at a video of one of the best ball strikers ever Ben Hogan he had lateral movement to the left .....keep up the great work mate cheers

    I'm trying to do this by thinking of weight shift. Shift weight back without swaying and then shifting forward grounding club after ball. I do this to minimise brain noise as thinking of individual parts throws me out. Good vid, well explained, yet again 👍 ☺

    Hey Chris; always enjoy your well timed videos. I was noticing though in this video that you don’t incorporate a small bump forward to get yourself into a good takeaway position for downward iron shots. Maybe you did it but you hid it well or do you feel the natural position of your right hand below left is enough? Maybe it’s stance preference as mine differs from yours slightly.

    Bumping the hips changed my game 💯, it’s what produced better sequencing, and changed my club path

    I think you misunderstand the spine angle argument. The spine angle in reference to the ball does maintain it’s angle to some degree. You can tell by the angle your shoulders are at the top of your swing.

    • @stefancoors1102
      @stefancoors1102 4 года назад

      Bob Haas I agree, Chris‘ upper body rotates nicely around his spine maintaining the same angle (towards the ball position) until impact. Many LPGA players have this down to a T, looking like their heads and spines do not move at all during the swing.

    • @ChrisRyanGolf
      @ChrisRyanGolf  4 года назад

      Hey bob, we do not maintain our spine angle to the ground, we do maintain our inclination to the ground. My spine moves from flex ion to extension and my body angle appears to stay the same due to the addition of left side end as the flex ion reduces through the backswing. 👍

      @capoferro71 4 года назад

      You are correct as it relates to the relationship of the spine to the hips if your hips are the static point of reference. The ball is usually the static point of reference and the address is the zero point when people describe how to swing a club.the swing is usually described in movement away from the geometry of that zero point in reference to the ball as the static point. In that perspective it is the hips moving out of zero and the spine staying at or close to zero. If you were to draw a one dimensional line through the center of your spine it would not change until after your point of contact. It is all how you perceive deviation from a given zero point in reference to a given static point of reference.
