I just finished fixing a small burn hole that I tried to fix in the past which turned out badly. your video gave me the courage to try again. SUCCESS! Your calm demeanor and attention to detail did the trick. Thanks do much.
This video most definitely saved my deposit. My dog tore a small hole in our carpet and I was afraid we’d have to recarpet the entire room. Thank you sooo much!!!
So happy I found your video! My daughter accidently locked our beagle in her bedroom and he tore up a little bit of carpet right at her door. Heading to Home Depot now for carpet squares
Had a desk chair on the carpet and it got stuck and rip out a chunk. This vid saved me from having to tell my parents and probably saved me from getting grounded. Thanks!
THANK YOU, THANk YOU, THANK YOU. You just save me a BUNCH of money on my rental! Multiple holes chewed in the carpet by the puppy the last tenants swore up and down they didn't have.
A 300lb visitor bust the spring on my couch, and although I thought it funny, I ignored it while all the time the spring was cutting bald patches into my carpet. I've scrapped the couch and was about to despatch the carpet when I came upon your video. Despite the Atlantic Ocean, I would like to hug you sir (in a manly way) and salute the ingenuity of the American people. God bless you all!
I've seen a lot of videos, but by far yours is the easier and cheapest, I will be taking by supplies I ordered, like seam tape and roller. THANK YOU FOR SHARING !! i will send you a follow-up after I complete the process.
Thank you so much! Our carpet is expensive and only three years old, our dog ate a hole in the middle of our living room! Puppies!😳 Anyway, the place that we bought the carpet from said there was nothing they could do that would not look bad….so, I looked up carpet repair, and found you! Our hero! We have carpet in the closet and in our garage steps that came from leftovers, and that is what we are using for repairs! Like a miracle!
A sharp blade is key. If you feel you blade go dull, change it immediately. If you do not do this the blade will start pulling instead of cutting and will make a mess of your patch.
Perfect video incredible tips for repairing carpet the best video and tips I have seen so far and I have been doing a lot of searching on this subject and now my searching has ended after finding your video. A million thanks
Thanks so much for your helpful tips! Didn’t have a long nail so I used a metal slishkabob skewer! I had also bought double-sided carpet tape, so I used that instead of glue (but I think glue would have been easier)! Your tip about marking the correct side UP is invaluable! Very happy with the results! Wish I could post before/after pics!
I practice the "Drop in a bucket" method of doing my part in not wasting resources and thus protecting the planet for future generations. Every drop helps! Great tutorial. Thanks for sharing!
I will try to fix pet damaged on my carpet ...Its a big help for me to watch this video. With this instruction you' ve show it do have confindence to fix it. Thanks you so much !
Wow your video is fantastic! You have given me the confidence to repair four burn marks in my carpet after a coal came out of my fire! The carpet looks like brand new! Many thanks!!!! Tip if you don’t have a nail a knitting needle works well too!
I just did this. My husband didn't have faith in me. But I killed it! I just have to find a donor piece for my daughter's closet.. Lowes didn't have samples just chilling out and about. I appreciate this video so much! Lol
Perfect! Worked like a pro! Thank you for sharing this. I followed this exactly and now I can't tell something was burnt there. I did definitely save a ton of money!
Wow thank you!!! This was so well presented and detailed. I wouldn’t fail to hire you and your company in a heartbeat. I haven’t tried this yet but I have a lot of confidence this will work (and will let you know)!!
I'm getting together the tools and glue for my damaged burned carpet. I'll need to repair it by the end of the month. Let you know what happens. Thanks for the demostración.
I'm so glad I found this video. A friend spilled some turmeric tea on my carpet which left a bright yellow stain. I'm going to give this procedure a try.
Thank you! this was sooo helpful, and I successfully patched a 3" hole that my rabbits chewed up in my carpet! That trick about finding the direction of the pile was great!
It took me three tries. My problem-I couldn’t get rid of the line between the carpet and patch. I finally took some clear tape (the kind you wrap packages with) and lightly taped the pile back on the main carpet. Once the patch was in place, I picked the edges so none of the pile on the patch got bent. When I took the tape off they blended right together. Whew! Thanks for your tips!!
I've just done this on my dining room carpet that my feral dog chewed! Waiting for it to dry so I can blend it more cos mine is super cheap carpet (I live in a army family house so all carpets are cheap and rubbish) so its harder to blend! But so far im loving what I see! Thank you for this video honestly saved me so much money army housing tends to over charge you for damages even if its minor yet when you move in the house isn't in best condition 🤦♀️🤦♀️
This is a perfect example why I wanted to make this tutorial. Happy to assist. You’ll see a link in the description for a video if there’s visibility after patching. Hopefully, it will help blend better 👍🏼✌🏼
@B. L. he's still feral 🤣 he's not got his balls chopped off, he's only 10 months old we won't do it untill hes fully grown! He should be out that chewing everything stage but he's not unfortunately, he's chewed my husbands rugby T-shirt from last season yesterday despite having toys and bones around the house 🙃
Well, I tried and didn't quite succeed. The spare piece I used was cut perfectly (as if I used a laser) but my floor carpet is very difficult to cut accurately. The result was not seamless and although it looks semi-fair, it's clear it was repaired. You are great to help and provide this instructional video showing amazing results. Being an expert would have probably helped me. Thank you so much for your video. -Vern
I burnt a carpet at the person i was supporting home by putting a portable heater the wrong way up , i had worked out in my mind how to fix this but your video cleared up the loose ends and contained elements i may of missed , good job thank you
For high traffic areas I like the donor piece to come from a scrap of the original install that was used for a throw rug so it has built-in ware to match 😀
Cheers bro.. watching from NZ jan 2022.. about to fix burn in the carpet at our rental. We really are good tenants and wanna get our deposit back!! Thanks for the tips xx
Going to try this out! Had a bleach stain that I colored in with crayon lol the crayon actually fixed the stain but I rubbed it so hard I made a hole in the carpet I’m moving in a few weeks so I’m going to hope this works! I will update you with the results
Very happy I saved the remnants from the new carpet I had installed just three months ago. New cat got locked in a room and decided to rip a hole under the door. Any suggestions for working along an edge? I assume only glue the sides that touch installed carpet...? Thanks for the video!
If you’re the same one who messaged me, yes. I would use my power stretcher which can be rented at Home Depot but presents another host of issues you’d need to be familiarized. If you get a good cut on both sides for the seam and glue it at the backing, I recommend letting it sit and dry before tapping back on the tack strip and ticking back in. This repair video is mainly designed for repairs under 6”. Techniques from it can be used on larger repairs or along door jambs and tile/hardwood to carpet transitions but are lacking on additional tools and techniques a pro would use to get it done better. Hope it works out well enough for you!
The best video for this I have seen! Great details down to the smallest carpet fiber! Definitely saved my deposit! Btw Kaboom bathroom cleaner and carpet are not friends lol. Left a grocery bag for a few days that had a leaky bottle and it ate a hole in the carpet! Thought I was done for, until now. You're definitely a superhero, I'm convinced lol 🦸🦸🦸
This video was great! My Great Dane scratched at the carpet until she reached the subfloor in my closet. I may have to get multiple carpet squares lol. Hopefully this will work for me so I can get my deposit back!! Thank you!
You are my hero today!!!! You covered “pet damage” and that’s what I needed, so thanks bunches!! Now, my only problem….my dogs is a 150lb 8 month old Great Dane so he got the pad, as well as, the carpet. Would you advise I use the pad from the closet section I’m going to remove? Or, any better suggestions? Thanks again
Very helpful! My rabbit chewed a patch of carpet up right after we put in new carpet in our house... luckily we had leftover carpet so I am able to use that. My parents were not very happy when they saw all that carpet had been chewed up haha
Two questions: 1) Why not use a backing underneath the patch that overlaps both existing backing and patch backing like some suggest? 2) What do you think of E6000 glue as opposed to Gorilla glue? Thanks!
Thanks! Going to try this today, my husband doesn’t think I can salvage our deposit after our bunny chewed 4 holes in the carpet but I think I can do it with your help. Wish me luck! The carpet is pretty old, what do you suggest if the color from the remnant donor pieces don’t match exactly? Go to Home Depot and try and find a better match to the worn carpet? I can see where that would be tricky if I’m working with a more worn carpet. Thanks for your tips!
Great. Good luck. Please let me know if you run into any problems. I would still recommend using the same dye lot donor material from a closet or residual even though it’s “new” because you can wear it by rubbing it with a pumice rock or outside on concrete. Here are a couple of bonus videos to help show this process: ruclips.net/video/aWkKGjqN-6Y/видео.html
So this is proof you guys are one of the good guys. Not everyone is willing to teach their artistry

Thank you! As a first time home owner and puppy owner, my carpet is saved!
What she said. 👍🏼
Had a desk chair on the carpet and it got stuck and rip out a chunk. This vid saved me from having to tell my parents and probably saved me from getting grounded. Thanks!
We all know we're here because of our cats.
Yep
My dog 😂
I stepped on a bottle of super glue 💀
Swinging a golf club in the same spot for a year😂
Nope. A shit head of a rabbit
This is a lifetime skill, it feels great fixing something with ones own hands. Thank you for teaching.
THANK YOU, THANk YOU, THANK YOU. You just save me a BUNCH of money on my rental! Multiple holes chewed in the carpet by the puppy the last tenants swore up and down they didn't have.
Excellent!
Why am I watching this at 2:00 in the morning and don’t even need to repair a carpet?
You just saved yourself a huge-ass headache for the future
This is definitely a hair saver, I thought I was going to pull all of my hair out from panicking. Thank you so much!!

Just used your method to repair a hole where my puppy chewed through. Worked great, thank you!

Yes, grab all donor material from the closet and put comparable materials back in the closet that you find from a carpet store.
Thank you bunches!! I truly appreciate you!! 😊

Me too guys, got about 4 holes to patch, apperently bunnies love carpet! Lol
This is amazing!! Thank you Super Carpet Man, deposit saved!!
You're welcome!
Two questions:
1) Why not use a backing underneath the patch that overlaps both existing backing and patch backing like some suggest?
2) What do you think of E6000 glue as opposed to Gorilla glue?
Thanks!
For small patches, I prefer this method and gorilla glue. Anything over 6”, hot melt glue tape. 👍🏼
@@carpetguy Thank you, I will give it a try!
