Those gum trees are so gorgeous, the way the bark really does spiral upwards around them, as you said. Such rich hues in the "tea" of the water lol! So nice to hear the lovely birdsong in the background, after such awful reports of the loss of wildlife in the bushfires there. A gem of a painting, Richard!
Hi Julie, The river gums do have fantastic bark and character, making them great to paint! Yes, nice to here there is plenty of wildlife left!!! Had a great day down there at this little water hole:) Cheers.

I love your videos and your paintings, and have learned a lot from them. May I ask what color green you use and what brand of oil paints do you paint with?

Really great painting...I think. Can't really see the painting. The camera is positioned too far away. We've seen the subject in the opening scene, so why can't you have the camera closer to fill more of the frame? I'd love to see the actual painting and your knife strokes. Way too much wasted space.
