Thank you for featuring my Nessie animatronic in this video, that's awesome! You did a perfect job with the video editing, and information. It's an honor to see Nessie show up in one of these videos!
To me, McPuddock only looks creepy when he’s in disrepair. Whenever he’s freshly painted and in nice clean water, he comes off as cute. But when he’s broken and in need of a makeover, he just looks sad and kinda scary
He really does, I last saw him in August, the poor lad looked miserable and wasn’t moving or working (I haven’t gone to see him since but I hope he gets fixed but as Duthie Park Winter Gardens relies on donations to look after the plants etc other than the cafe idk when that will be)
I have found a new love and appreciation for animatronics through this channel. I have developed Submechaniphobia while watching these videos as well but that doesn’t dampen my obsession for these AMAZING pieces of complex tech. Thank you Fastpass Facts for showing me the magic behind these things that bring so much life to the rides that we enjoy so much!
I never found submerged animatronics to be scary, I honestly find them quite fascinating, the technology to make them work underwater almost flawless is somewhat impressive
The fear tends to stem from the thought of falling in the water and getting caught in the levers/hydraulics/tracks/arms and other moving parts while drowning
As someone who lives in the Aberdeen area where Duthie Park is, McPuddock has always been my favourite part of the Winter Gardens even as a kid. McPuddock is cute
That float at Carnaval is AMAZING! I honestly never thought much about going but seeing video of all those floats makes me really want to. Also, man the more I see of Efteling, the more I want to plan a trip there.
Also this just reminded me: getting stuck on a ride when you have submechanophobia. Getting stuck on the trolls of Norway in Epcot before it was replaced by frozen made me cry. When I was 20. And my fiance totally judged me and thought I was having a breakdown and I gave absolutely no f*cks. We're still together 16 years later. BE OPEN ABOUT YOUR FEARS, FOLKS.
Love being able to hear your guy's voices! You can hear how much you are genuinely interested in these topics like we are! Also i agree, frog is cute, mcpuddock has my heart sorry Luz lol
So happy to see my country Brazil on this list! Carnaval could make a whole list with its magnificent and many times controversial floats and animatronics. Many people dedicate their whole lives to Carnaval which is our most important holiday. Kisses from this Brazilian fan!
Carnaval is definitely not our most important holiday and i would go as far as saying a huge part maybe more than half of Brazilians despise carnaval and are disgusted by it. Carnaval sucks
I purchased and saved an Angel Of Death animatronic from my favorite dark ride at our childhood theme park that was shutting down. The reaper got a fresh paint touch up, tailoring on the cloak and hood, and even gave his wings a new support wire in each. I wan't going to let him rot in the abandoned park so I bought him up as they closed.
im submechanophobic, but nessie looks cute, the rest of the animatronics looks creepy to me, just imagine swimming in a lake and seeing a big dino animatronic looking at you
not scary to me when they're out of the water, but creepy when they're in it, can understand the fear of being with them in the water. wonder if some parks take the animatronics out of the water for cleaning and maintenance, 'cause i hope they do
I have a deep seated fear of sea monsters, starting back when I first read the Odyssey…..now knowing there are Scylla and Charybdis animatronics out there and likely are rotting away…..I wanna curl into a ball and hide
Oh dear🫣 I'm sorry that happened to you. I remember this one time...well idk i never really found out if it was real or a nightmare for some reason, but I remember I was at the pool with my cousin, and her mom..(I was like probably seven at the time or in the dream) And I went over to look in the deep end when suddenly, my cousin picked me up and just YEETED me into the water, the last thing I remember was sinking down into the water as the surface slowly got darker.,and either I woke up before I drowned, or someone came to save me from drowning...yeah it was pretty freaky and slightly eerie, because of the fact that I can't tell if it was a dream of not...mind the fact that I'm 13 now..its creepy
Really good video! If you make another Submechanophobia video, please add the giant underwater Medusa statue at Sea Life of Great Yarmouth in the UK. That thing is TERRIFYING.
I literally do have submechanophobia. I wouldn't say I "suffer" from it, but I certainly do have it. If something is completely submerged under water, it doesn't bother me in the slightest. In fact I could easily snorkel all around it, and I'd likely think it's fascinating. However, if it's sticking out of the water even a little bit, it creeps me the hell out. I don't know why, but if something has a substantial portion of it submerged, I don't want to be anywhere near it. It's probably the same feeling some people get when they're near spiders or snakes. I'm 56 years old, but I have vivid memories all the way back to as young as 3 years old. My mom would take me to this sandy beach on a fresh water lake, and next to the beach was a pretty tall peer where you could walk about 20 to 30 feet out over the water. Being on top of the peer didn't bother me at all. In fact I love walking along peers and looking down into the water. But I don't like seeing the pylons entering the water. And what's worse was being in the water with the pylons disappearing into the water reaching down to the lake bed and them sticking up several feet out of the water to support the huge peer just creeped me out so much. Even to this day I can feel that same creeped out feeling just remembering how it looked, and being forced to swim just ten feet away from it. For years my mom thought I hated going to the beech and swimming. NOPE! I just just hated swimming at THAT beech near those pylons. Even now being somewhere and seeing something jutting out of the water gives me the creeps. Now if I can see the bottom of the object through the water, say like if a barrel was sitting in the shallows resting on the bottom with half of it sticking out of the water, that doesn't bother me. But something sitting in deep water, even something like a pole jutting out of the water or a buoy floating in the water, just gives me the heebie jeebies.
This was interesting to read. It also makes me think about what really makes submechanophobia work. You’re not afraid of something that’s completely underwater, because it’s contained within the water. Or if partially visible but you can see the bottom of it, at least you know where it ends. It’s the sinister feeling of seeing something partially out of water, but also in. You know what you can see, so you know something is there. But you have no idea what could be just below it. It’s the uncertainty that makes our imaginations run wild.
Thanks Fastpack it's so Sad to see so Many abandoned animatronics just left To Rot in abandoned Amusement parks Around the world I think they should be Recycled & reused in parks that are open, It's such a waste of land & they should Be saved & reused I'm not afraid of Animatronics under water cos I know They're not real someone made it it's Interesting thanks guys for sharing this Video, the frog looked cute he definitely Needs some tlc it would be cool to see Him updated & in full working order, Nessie was awesome he needs some Tlc to he's not scary he needs to be Modernised people need to understand That they don't need to be scared of Animatronics the way I see it is that the Animatronics are other people's Art work & They're not Real.

Yay! I have been waiting on this video. I just started looking up animatronics a couple of months ago when I realized I have had a major fear of water park rides and huge murals/ theme park rides with animatronics that are entirely too real and frightening to come upon. Thanks Schlitterbahn for your super scary octopus in the lazy river!!!!
hey Fastpass facts. first off i want to say how much i love these video's, they are really fun to watch. but if i may i would like to correct something about the second dragon at Toverland. the video you saw was made before the expention opened, the final movements aren't so stiff and it doesn't show the machanism, it even sprays water onto the riders through its nostrils. its a realy fun addition tho the area, and i'm glad they finally added some life to the area.
