missed a step there... I have the APX also and this works only after you dry-fire it, or press the stricker release button in before pressing the takedown button and lever.
You are correct. This works when the striker is not cocked. So an "un-racked" pistol :) Thanks for pointing that out and thanks for supporting our channel.
Thanks for this. The release button is hard to push in sometimes. The design is a lot like the M17 where for the specific gun that I ended up with I have to push it against a plastic block specifically designed for the purpose. Still, the APX is a great gun and tremendous value. Also make sure that the release lever is vertical when I reassemble.
Just found your videos a few days ago, great videos and informative. I have the APX Centurion and think it's a great pistol. Better trigger than my M&P and a few others. Great gun, great video👍👍
Thank you for this! I just bought the APX 1 and haven't fired it yet. I noticed when pressing the 2 points to disassemble that the slide didn't pop off until after I squeezed the trigger. Very informative video and I have liked and subscribed. Thanks again
I must be missing something. I just brought my new APX A1 home from the store (after a quick stop at the range), and that takedown lever is not budging. I cleared the pistol, pulled the trigger, and I'm pushing like hell on that button on the right side. Takedown lever won't move. Does the slide need to be manipulated?
@@spookinoff please download the owner's manual and read about the striker deactivation button. It needs to be pressed before disassembling the gun. This feature is for taking it apart without pulling the trigger. I hope this helps😎💪🏿
After watching a very experienced other RUclips gun reviewer fumble and complain about the new APX A1 disassembly, it's refreshing to now see how easy it is by pushing the takedown button with the right thumb and simultaneously pulling the takedown lever to the 6 o'clock position with the right fingers: "The slide just pops right off." Thank you.
Can you help me please i just bought mine a week a go and the slide jams on me if i pull it back and also when i tried to shot it the slide jammed at the end it did not lock and i couldn’t shoot until i hit the slide with my hand to push it back to its place
Excellent instructional vid! One question for U. It is extremly difficult for me to 'push' the button in to release the slide. Even where I bought it, they had diffcultly pushing the button to release the slide. Any suggestions??? Thanks. Rick aka the Rixter
I had trouble with getting that button pushed all the way too. The easiest way I found to do it was to put the gun flat on a table with the button down and use one hand to push the gun down which pushes in the button and allows you to turn the lever. After a while it got easier and now I can just push it in with my finger
Nope that is how mine came from the factory. I believe it will only function properly if installed the right way around. Thicker side to the rear, or how is yours installed?
I still would have liked to see you clear the pistol instead of relying on a representation that the pistol was cleared. I have the APX A1 and I am hoping with use I will be able to use the press and rotate method described. Mine is too stiff to allow this at this point.
Yep there is no issues doing that. I use the gloves mainly due to the lights that we use. They show fingerprints on the camera very easily. So I use the gloves so you guys can see the gun's finish instead of finger smudges :) Thanks for supporting our channel!
The owners manual is available in digital form (PDF) online. There is also a bar code in the box that you can scan with your phone camera. Goin paperless.
Thanks for this! I just bought the APX A1 today ( it’s my first gun) I’m just trying to learn all I can during the 3 day waiting period!

The worthless mag loader makes a good tool to push the right end of the take down pin, as it is quite stiff.
