I watch your videos almost religiously, and seriously appreciate the light-hearted 'hello fellow engineers' at the start of every video. you've inspired me to continue pushing, striving to become a true engineer without losing sight of the small things in life that define who I am. Thanks for all you do for this community, please keep it up!!

    • @iluomopeloso
      @iluomopeloso Год назад +2

      You can do it, BL!
      If I can do it, then you can do it!
      (Old man story incoming...)
      I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, and I don't think of myself as very dedicated; however, I managed to finish an engineering degree while working full-time and raising five kids (we had another as a celebration after I graduated, lol). We certainly had a lot of support, especially from my in-laws (best parents I've ever had). It was tough, and I got down and felt like quitting a *lot*. There were days I felt like running my car into an overpass on my way home (spoiler alert: I didn't). I developed some dangerous ways to deal with the stress (self-harm is ... harmful), because I didn't think I had time to deal with things properly. I see now that I was wrong at the time. But one thing that kept me going was proving the doubters wrong. There were a couple of people who were rather skeptical when I announced my decision to get an engineering degree, and I just couldn't let them be right. Maybe not the healthiest motivation, but it worked for me!
      Just remember that your university probably has a medical staff that includes mental health professionals. They are usually pretty great people who want you to be able to function better and help you out of struggles. They're not going to do your electromagnetic fields homework for you, but don't underestimate the power of someone to talk to!
      Lean on people if you have them! If someone asks if there's anything they can do for you, then take them up on the offer! No one is "self-made", everyone needs support. Utilizing a support network doesn't make you weak, it makes you a normal person.
      Above all, just keep putting one foot in front of the other. Don't worry about how long it's going to take. You'll get there eventually. But to get there, you have to do today's tasks first. So just focus on what's on your plate right now. I know it's a lot, but you eat the elephant one bite at a time.
      You can do it! I believe in you!

    That police car at the car accident (the smart in the hole) is clearly German. This is in Germany. Also all the brands on the vehicles and so on are German with the exception of the forklift. The brand's name is "Stihl" and they wrote "Still", i guess the devs couldn't get that license. As far as i can say though location names are made up.
    edit: Highway markings are accurate as well^^ It's a steer clear area bc of an obstacle coming. It doesn't show a "direction" as you've mentioned.

    I think once you finish the tutorial you unlock multiplayer. I'd love to see some collabs!!

    That car in the pit was significantly larger than a Smart. Source: I used to own and drive a Fortwo. That car was closer to a Honda Civic hatchback in size.

    As a commercial driver I've seen all of this resurfacing equipment, but I've only seen bigger versions of it. All the asphalt haulers I see are 18 wheelers. I guess everything's bigger in America :P
