I am so glad they brought Tristram back. The echoing effect perfectly works with this setting as if it haunts us of our past with the first love we had encountered that is Diablo 1.

I have this tradition in every D&D session that I run where I use this theme to act as the opening intro song that plays to get the players reacquainted with the setting. To me, the Tristram theme represents old school dark fantasy 👌

I'm only about halfway through Act II of D4, but breatjed a sigh of relief when I got to this part of the game. I would have been super pissed if Tristram didn't show up in some form in-game. Been happy to visit Tristram ever since playing D1 when it released...

I still wish they made this like the main theme of a town so i could hear this more then just in this scene.

Lots of awesome easter eggs in this version of Tristram. At 0:16 there's a sword sticking through one of the souls against the wall. I zoomed in when I reached this point in the game and thought it looked familiar, realized it's Griswold's Edge from Diablo II. Also, each of the red souls are representations of Cain from each Diablo (found this thanks to a comment from Hy Nal on Dark LORE Dash's D4 Tristram video). I also believe the spirit at 2:46 is Wirt, can't confirm though.

The quick pan on the opening chords is subtle but really effective. It's like a finger snap to make your brain pay attention.

I was so hyped when I heard this in D4 cause I thought that they may include it on the Spotify OST for D4... They didn't.

I played this out loud and my dad immediately recognised the theme and we went looking into his computer office and he found an old disc of LoD. I always knew he was a gamer, but never knew he was into Diablo. A colleague of his in the military apparently ruined his life playing the game for whole weeks he did nothing but play D2. The guy apparently even went homeless for a while. Great series, shame Blizzard don't know what to do with it.

…but it’s more than that. Tristram is where it all began, and the journeys into the depths to face down terror incarnate.
Diablo 1 will always be one of my favorite games I’ve ever played and the echo of tristram is a beautiful homage to the series past, even if it’s a long rotting ruin by this point in the storyline. Makes me want to pop open my computer and play the original again!

I don't think it can be overstated how important this song really is. Diablo 1 changed the face of gaming forever, and the atmosphere of the game is one of the most enduring elements. And nothing helps atmosphere like Sound Design and the OST. Imagine if Diablo 1 had a different composer. Imagine if they'd gone for a more "synth rock" approach, or something a bit less dark, and more "adventurey"! I sincerely think that change could've cut D1's popularity off at the knees, which would've sent ripples through the entire ARPG and RPG genres.
Agreed, the Tristram soundtrack is just legendary, seats a very distinct RPG mood👌

God damn I wish I would have played this series sooner. Diablo 3 was my first years ago with my buddy, but we never finished it and I didn't have any strong opinions on it. When Diablo 4 came out I decided to get it because I knew he would and once it clicked I fell in love. Now I've played through the majority of 2 and 3 to see how they feel, and I can't wait to play 1 when I get a PC. I have to say, I think 2 might be my favorite.

@@DiabloOSTsupercuts yeah, D3 is by far the most simple fun, but D2s atmosphere is unmatched so far, though I've heard D1 has the best atmosphere of all and almost feels like survival horror at times.
Diablo 1 needs a full fledge remake like how D2 Resurrected did
True, you can play a version of it during the darkening of Tristram event in January in D3, though it is not the same 🙂

They didn't just use the tristram music from d2, when mephisto came to the wanderer again later in the game, you can hear other original soundtracks from D2. I'm pretty sure I caught that zakarum soundtrack from d2 act 3, too.

I didn't, moved hud to the edge and recorded in ultrawide🙂

the sound is check but the vision? of Tris+ram? Tris+ram is a small village on the dge of the horde run by a church late on at night and a water hole for less then 160 inhabitants of that place

It is during the campaign, before you meet Neyrelle at the Horadrim cave. Can't go back though, need to replay the campaign :)
