  • Hi! I hope you enjoyed today's speaker testing video! In this video, we are testing a very interesting pair of 3-way speakers from a Sony Trinitron CRT TV! These speakers uses a "Push-Pull" system! What is it? Well, they seems like they are just 2-way speakers, but there is a 4" woofer in the box, behind the 3" midranges! The woofer has its own port, but the while the woofer moving, it pushes air towards the smaller speaker, making it move more, so they have better bass. Or they should be. Because the 3" midrange bottoms out pretty fast, and the tuning of the port isn't deep. Typical Sony mistake.
    So, they still sound pretty good, the highs are really nice just like the mids, but the bass isn't as nice and deep as i expected.

    I LOVE and HATE these type of tv speakers! They usually sound nice but take a hell alot of space to store!

      Well most surprisingly i actually have some space for these tv speakers! They aren't too big to store them luckily. They sound nice but worse than i expected.

    Well no, it's a Push-Push system! The goal of a push-pull is to avoid this over excursion issue

    • @the_speaker_tester
      @the_speaker_tester  8 месяцев назад

      So they are a real push-pull system...or they should be..because that over excursion issue is definetly there, the 3' midrange bottoms out like crazy...

      @@the_speaker_tester yeah but I mean...both drivers share the same enclosure and are wires the same way. When one pushes, the other also does

    That's isobaric arrangement.

      Isobaric arrangement? Never heard of it. But i know why it is a Push-Pull system.

      @@the_speaker_tester Yeap. Look it up. It allows better bass extension while retaining size of enclosure or reduce the the enclosure in half while keeping the bass as of single driver.

    Impressive design! Awesome speakers! I thought it would cancel out by doing that, but as it is not in the back, this doesnt happen.

      Thanks! The design is soo interesting of these! They doesn't cancel out because all of the speakers are in the same phrase.
