I've seen a lotta things in my 67 years, but I ain't NEVER seen pie iron mac n cheese. Leave it to the fernbark. Thanks for making me hungry at 4:44 in the morning...just before bedtime. You guys are great.
Mac and cheese sounds like a good idea. I had heard of doing it in a waffle iron but not a pie iron. It is hard to be patient cooking when you are hungry, so you end up throwing more wood on the fire. Camp is looking good. Thank you for the video, Fernbark
I dl'd a Kindle book on making ALL manner of weird stuff in a waffle iron. Haven't got up the nerve to try any yet, but it's interesting. Hash browns will be my 1st thing I try.
The coals were super low. So we over compensated. We had zero idea that Solo stove would come back to life that quick. The next weekend we just put one log on. Way better. Thanks for watching.
Nice job Dave and Fernbark. Burgers looked delicious as did the salmon. Looked like you two had way too much fun at the “Wood”. Thanks for sharing and we’ll catch ya on the next adventure.
Great video Fernbark and Anonymous Dave. That grilled Mac and cheese looked pretty good, I like food with a little crunch. Looks like you and Dave had a great weekend. Not a fan of salmon, but might have to try some grilled, that really looked good. Have fun my friends 👍
That half that wasn't burnt was fantastic. combining high heat with drinking pretty much spelled the end for the other side. If you come out here and have fresh grilled salmon, you might change your mind. Salmon in the middle of the country isn't the same. My dad thought tuna was evil till he visited me in Florida and we got some fresh off the boat.
MorningWood the Pacific Northwest is on my bucket list. And if I make it, I will be sure to let you know. Just like seafood here, nothing like the seafood in New Orleans.
@@YourOldPalFernbark right on ,but would be looking forward to some pie iron eats ! I was chatting with Mark earlier tonight about his truck and mentioned it would be a good time up at Morning wood cooking up a feast
Man, you motivated me to fire up the pie iron tonite. Deer steaks, browned up with peppers, onions, shrooms and lightly floured with marinade. Threw it in some bread with cheese. Next was raisin bread with apple pie filling with cinnamon sugar and topped with powdered sugar. The 6 yr old loved it as did the wife. Kinda funny I bought some shredded hash browns with them in mind with cheese and bacon. Oh well.
If you are referring to a pit toilet, we cannot have those. I do need to build a little room for my composting toilet. I have been using it three years, it works great.
That all looks delicious, Fernbark, even the crispy mac n cheese. I bet it would make a good burger topping...... hmmm... definitely better than "spicy and gross." Poor Dave.
I seen my first mosquito of the year yesterday. Sometimes I just use a little seasoned salt on my burgers and dogs. I don't like curry either. Oh boy, you get to half the Reeses. I love those. Thanks for sharing.
@@YourOldPalFernbark I always enjoy the smokey smell the next day. Covers up all kinds of other odors, maybe even disinfects. Who needs a shower. Maybe I just have good associations, memories. I do have one of those small wood gas stoves for boiling water or cooking in a pinch. They are pretty cool.
Loved🤣😂your seasoning mixture for the burgers! Keep up with the videos! Where are the pug’s? They would be great addition to your videos? Looks like you guys are having a great time!
WOW, One heck of an improvised meal. AWESOME. I'M glad you all had A great time, despite having to work earlier. This was A fun and entertaining video. Peace, John.
I always do my friend, just, sometimes, I am A little late, lol. I have spent, what little free time, to catch up on watching reviews. I am, within, 2-3 days again, LOL. Peace!
Everything looked great on this end. Damn shame the curry came out bad because i make the stuff all the time and think it is great. Also love a mac and cheese that is a little crispy around the edges. My favorite is the 2 pound Cracker Barrel mac and cheese. After it is done i take the plastic off and put it in the smoker for about 30 minutes. Great stuff. Thanks for sharing!
I was hoping the whole mac and cheese would have turned out like the one side that was nice brown and crispy. I totally smoked the other side. That sounds like a great idea using the smoker with mac and cheese. You might see that in a video.
LOL... I don't understand what the curry aversion is all about. I've had lots of different Thai and Indian curry dishes - good stuff! That looks like a semi-permanent "campsite" there... what's this "Morning Wood" thing all about?
You are a fortunate person that can enjoy the flavors of curry. It just doesn't taste good to me, hence my lack of desire to eat it. Morning Wood is my property where I go to relax.
Those goddamn mosquitoes are still frozen here thank goodness! Give me one of those burgers, a piece of salmon and leave the rest for the animals 😂. I completely agree about curry. Thanks brother!
Yep... been warm enough to awaken them damn flying assholes. I will pass on the curry, but the other shit looked delicious. Glad Dave was able to come up and give you a hand on the other tent. Way to go on the euro Bacon!! Have a blast up there Brother... Cheers
I see you enjoy hamburger in you garlic powder. To each his own. But, the square, folded, burgology is valid in both theory and practice. I never bought into the flattened meatball method. Curry is purely, open to debate, anything with turmeric seems to be called curry. I gotta give that pie iron a try since I like the burnt cheese effect.
Looks good!! Aside from the curry 🤢 if you said it was good, I’d have had to hit this one with a thumbs down!! 😂😂 i didn’t catch if you used plain pasta? Or mixed in the cheese sauce as well?
Yeah. It goes in spurts. The company I work for does a ton out of the Port of Tacoma, so I usually get out there a few times a year. Right now I’m on a contract from Ontario to New Mexico, and it could last up to 2 years. So may be a while before I’m out there again!! Lol
The dinner was great and resulted in a massive food coma. Never invite the Mosquitoes. Thanks for the video.
It sure was . Thanks for spending a night at the Roxbury!

I have to try different stuff. Can't make pizza pie iron every time. Thanks for watching.
Awesome work on the tunnel sheds looks great! I'm really enjoying these pie iron type of vids!! Nice dance moves btw!!
Thanks! I have a bunch of pie iron videos. Sometimes they turn out better than others.

When you are away from civilization, it is important to stay hydrated. We have a very good time once the campfire is lit. Thanks for watching Mike!
Has anyone ever figured out what exact grill grate fits over the bonfire so well here in this video? 😅
It is off my Weber kettle 22"
@@YourOldPalFernbark Perfect, I will do exactly the same here :-) Thanks for the response and the nice video!
Satan's Mouth! My mother in-law would be pleased to know there's a fire pit named after her 🤣! Burgers and salmon looked great Fernbark!
Hahahahaha. You got me with that one.! Thanks for watching.

If you ever get out this way, there won't be curry here.

Those burgers look awesome. Great video Fernbark.
Thanks Marilyn, they were pretty darn good.
You sure eat well but i'm thinking you need an outhouse , I can hook you up on that if they allow them in your area.
If you are referring to a pit toilet, we cannot have those. I do need to build a little room for my composting toilet. I have been using it three years, it works great.

Dave likes spicy and gross! Crispy mac and cheese would be a great burger topping!
Just perfect video my friend! 100% A+ Cheers from Russia
Thanks. We had a pretty good time that weekend. I love cooking in the woods.
Ha! Could make a taco with that pie iron, using the cheese as a shell. I'm inspired! LOL Good to see more videos from MW, these are fun.
Cheesy shell taco....hmmmmmm.
I seen my first mosquito of the year yesterday. Sometimes I just use a little seasoned salt on my burgers and dogs. I don't like curry either. Oh boy, you get to half the Reeses. I love those. Thanks for sharing.
I tried seasoned salt on my dog once...but she bit me, and ran off.
I'll try different things on my burger. But most of the time I keep it pretty simple.
The solo stove is really nice with the reburn capability, so no smoke and more heat, but when you've got mosquitos, smoke it nice.
I still prefer no smoke. It is super nice not smelling like a forest fire the next morning.

@@YourOldPalFernbark You can always burn some of that outdoor citronella incense. Not sure how you would smell the next morning.
You'll have to do a round two of the mac n cheese bacon im thinking it be bomb , theat burger wow lots of garlic damn boy. They looked good
It would have been ok, but that fire pit roared to life and really jacked with the cooking times. That half that wasn't burnt was amazing.
Found this little gem of a video tonight. Over mac'd lol. The last time I made curry I added too much. Believe me that was the last time.
I am not a fan of curry in the first place, and this was pretty spicy. Next time I will pass on it all together.
Loved🤣😂your seasoning mixture for the burgers! Keep up with the videos! Where are the pug’s? They would be great addition to your videos? Looks like you guys are having a great time!
These pugs are not real woods going animals. Their owner would be mad if I lost one in the woods. Thanks for watching.

Great video and the burger looked great Fenbark.
Thanks! It was very good indeed.
I haven't tried curry yet but I definitely don't like old socks......or do I? Awesome video Fernbark I like the night vids!
Curry is not for me. This I know. thanks for watching!
If you like to suck on old socks! 😂😂 that was hilarious, not a curry fan myself, I’ll take your burgers👍🏼🍺
I had leftover burger on the ride home. Still good the next day. Pretty sure it was just the toasted cheesy jalapeno bun.

Nor am I Bill!
I had a few vessels of Amber Goodness, and that curry was still crap. Fortunately there were plenty of other options.
what is love? baby dont hurt me 😂. nice moves! sucking on old socks lmao! great video
I rock at chair dancing, lol. That curry was not fun to try at all. I don't see how people eat that.
Those goddamn mosquitoes are still frozen here thank goodness! Give me one of those burgers, a piece of salmon and leave the rest for the animals 😂. I completely agree about curry. Thanks brother!
You probably get flies and mosquitoes. Worst flies I ever encountered were in Canada.
MorningWood They are called Blackflies. One month of hell
Yep... been warm enough to awaken them damn flying assholes.

Thanks for being able to consider trying our other "shit". I am just busting your juevos. Dave has been super generous in helping me.
More morning wood merriment and mishaps!
Gotta watch that curry. Its a hit and miss kinda creature.
I think curry is 100% miss for me. Unless I suddenly enjoy the taste of spicy vomit.
Yup there is good curry and then there is that. Thanks for the video
I am thinking this will be my last curry. I live in a mild fear of getting a British ration with one in it.
Awesome
Thanks, we had some good fun up there.
I just hate it when I lose my cheese down the hole. Ever thought of doing a mac & cheese stuffed burger? Not a fan of curry either.
Lost cheese is a real issue! I have not considered doing a mac and cheese stuffed burger....yet.
I see you enjoy hamburger in you garlic powder. To each his own. But, the square, folded, burgology is valid in both theory and practice. I never bought into the flattened meatball method.

The garlic was an accident. Still tasted good though. That half of the pie iron that was not burnt, was pure gold. The other half, pure charcoal.
It’s never too much cheese if it’s Tillamook Cheese
They do make a nice cheese!
