i got my self a similar deal on ebay for the l mount for my s511x and even though i don't shoot much at 24mm i just couldn't get myself to pass on such a deal
This is a good example of why I'm angry with Canon apparently putting an end to RF third party lenses. You either have to sell a kidney to buy the best RF lenses, or settle for subpar lenses that really aren't much cheaper than really good third party options. Even with the EF mount, you could either pay high prices for the best of the best 1.2 Canon options, or settle on some really terrible 1.8 options - or sometimes a rare 1.4 (like with the 50mm lenses). Sigma and Tamron had to step in and offer really great 1.4 lenses for affordable prices and the quality was almost as good as the 1.2 Canon lenses (and Sigma offers a 7 year warranty on lenses here vs Canon's 1 year warranty).
Sony all the way if you want unparalleled future lens support. Also if you only want video get the newer fx30 far better than a74 for video. If you really hate the proprietary Sony cfe type a cards then yeah there's that. But then again canon doesn't even give you the option. Autofocus on cannon r6 could be a tiny bit faster/better. But you can use much cheaper 3rd party insanely good lenses with sony.

Love to hear this! 🙌
Awesome review! Just ordered my today and I can’t wait to walk around. Hoping to do some night photographies this year.😊
Just picked one up used for $499. Didn’t even plan on it, but couldn’t pass that deal up.

Great example! These types of lenses are the ones Canon is scared to have on the RF mount.
Would love your take on Sigma 85 dg dn!

Lenspal is a nice place to rent.
