I love that you say, “And now we’re done. Yes, we’re done.” Then you pick up the white oil pastel and add a few marks. You’ll have to show us tomorrow how much more you did to this finished collage! Ha! It really is great to watch. I hope you’ll keep doing them. Just like this! Thank you!
@RingoWild the fact is we are never truly done. we just know we have to stop. 😁😁😁😁
@ I know that feeling. Take this away from me! I have to let go! My therapist asked me if I was a perfectionist. There’s no hiding it. ❤️
This gave me some ideas for my next collage! Thank you! 💯💯💯
@self-carewithlia978 Yes Go for it!!!

Thank you friend I truly appreciate you. I am glad you got some inspiration from this!!!!
I like how you tied in those african textile prints into the collage piece. I'm new to expressing myself this way and your channel has opened my eyes to all the varied items that I can use as well as the varied ways that I can use them. Thank you for sharing your process.
@lawrencerodgers2074 Awesome. I love that you are inspired and inspired to create. Yes with collage you can use so many different materials and textiles is fun because of all the patterns and textures. My son thew away his Algebra workbook and I plucked it right out the can!!
Loving your videos Steve. Can I use this method on Canvas? Thanks
YES!!! you can absolutely use thus method on canvas! Gel medium is very durable and I use it on canvas often!!!
So cool❣️ I don't see textiles used much in collage. This turned out nice, especially after the teal mark-making on the black edge.
@dawnel9638 I love textiles because of the endless patterns. And those little markings is my favorite part of the process. thanks for tuning in!!!
This was fantastic! Really enjoyed watching your creative process! The fabric from Africa is gorgeous! Awesome, I can't wait to get some time out of my busy schedule to do this amazing project. ❤😊
@gwendolynmitchell8604 The great thing about this is work is that it doesn't take much time to complete. They move fairly quick!!!!
@@gwendolynmitchell8604 there is only time. And you design it. There is never enough and always enough. Art Gwendolyn today to me is a necessity. Perhaps a reframe on what where and when could be considered. BecausecI heard your heart cry out for it the time is here perhaps to take heed. Whatever your fancy start. Maybe with a dollar store notebook some scrap paper and doodle. Whatever it is Gwendolyn do it for you. Now.
LOVE THIS!

How long between steps 1 and 2?
@hollywood5of6 really not that long at all as the gel medium dries really quickly. I like to take alot of breaks when working though because I feel I always need fresh eyes but it really up to you how you approach it
This was really fun to watch! I'm on the verge of diving into collage, so it's fun to see how other artists begin a painting. I'm curious about the white spatula you used to pull the white paint in, it looks like something I'd like to have. Where did you get it?
@heathershaffer6148 So cool that you are inspired to dive into collage art you are gonna love it. The plastic spatula i used are painting knives you can get at Michael's or any art store in the brush section. They are very cheap and I had a set of these for years. FYI sometimes I have used regular plastic knives too.😉😉😉
@@MindYourNewness Awesome, thank you! I just dug out a plastic fork and knife set from a take out order. Great suggestion.
@@heathershaffer6148 you can definitely make it work!!! I have used thick business cards to get that same effect!
