Jeff, great month there! My January was $872 which while a bit lower, January has been my slowest month for each of the four full years I have been on micro-stock. Also is 37% better than January last year. So hopefully an indication of a better year ahead in 2024.
Yah, I am hoping 2024 is a better year. Microstock has been in decline for a few years so it would be nice to see a little bit of a revival
You’re bring in the big bucks. Hopefully one day I’ll get in that ballpark.
Ha ha.. yes, big bucks. I think there is more money doing what you are working on doing - freelance.
Congratulations, You are doing great, I have limited myself to just 5 websites now, AS, SS, DT, DP, P5 Do not have much time available.
Thanks. I agree, its not worth the effort to upload to all the sites. Just no payback
Hi Jeff, I am happy you have really great month, great sale on Archangel thumb up for your abandoned places, and Adobe is like a cherry on cake, great your MA is going up also, good luck in coming months
Thanks Miro!
It was great to see you make that book sale. I'm sure more will follow. As usual you had a very solid performance on Adobe.
Thanks Bruce. Arcangel is hard but nice when I get lucky and have a sale.
Thanks for sharing, congrats on the AC sale!
I should probably work hard at AC.
Well done, Jeff. You must be very encouraged by your good sales figures in January. Pond 5 has been dead for me as well for the last four or five months. I was doing well there before that. The r.p.d. for videos on SS can be quiet shocking. I got just over $1 for one of my videos yesterday which was shot on BMPCC 6K. So, I’m not sure it’s anything to do with the quality. I wonder how they work out the royalty. Anyway, we just have to keep going. Thanks for sharing your stock earnings.
Thanks. I don't have much insight into how the royalties work on the agencies. I think its based on the type of license purchased and can vary wildly. I wish I knew....
Very good result!
Thank you!
Hi There,
I saw that you have a great RUclips channel(Jeff W). I also saw that you struggle a lot with your RUclips channel and very dedicated to your RUclips channel.
I'm a RUclips consultant & SEO Expert.
I analyzed your channel’s previous video and updated video and found that your content is also Must better than other channels but your videos and channel are not properly SEO optimization. Your SEO result is 50 out of 100 But you don't have any ranked tags. RUclips is not finding your videos properly. That's why your channel is not getting ranked and video views and subscribers are not coming.
From my RUclips optimization professional experience, you should change it. Then you will see views coming to your videos and subscriptions to the channel increasing.
Thank you.
Best Regards
Mahabur
Please could you let us know what percentage of your sales were Generative AI for Adobe Stock if possible?
Yah, I thought about adding it up. I am guessing that about 50-55% are AI generated. So... significant.
I haven't sold much yet any recommendations on what type of images to sell on Adobe. Thanks....
In January adobe stock was approving images more quicker than usual, and now it’s slowed down again. Did this happen to you too?
Pretty much, yes. Although they are still moving through the que faster than last fall.
Do you mind if I ask you a question about recognisable 'people' created using generative AI? Just so I am 100% clear on this, if I generate an image using Midjourney V6 and it is a close-up portrait of a 'fictional' person's face, facing 'camera' then I would need a signed model release. However, I don't know the 'person' so it would be impossible to get a signed model release. So therefore avoid showing a recognisable face in case it strongly resembles a real living person and you could get sued? Is that correct? I've seen lots of images on Adobe generative AI where a 'person' is facing camera but these images must be without a signed model release? I'd love to know your thoughts on this.
No, that used to be the rule and the release came from yourself as the owner of the image. It was bizarre. Now you upload, select that the image was created using AI, and then another check box comes up where you check that the people / property is entirely fictional. Make sure no real person was part of you prompt.
@@JWhyte123 thank you so much for such a speedy reply. My concern now would be what if your AI generated image of a person has a very strong resemblance to a real living person and they are not happy about 'their' face being used commercially. Could they successfully sue you? Do you know the answer to that?
That I can't help you with. At the end of the day, I think you shouldn't do anything you are uncomfortable with doing. there are lots of subjects that don't involve people.@@user-fq1cg7ib4r
Great month
Thanks!
