Today its time for the 11th episode of this series: Air Forces Rank Guides.
In today's episode we'll feature Soviet Rank III. I'll give you an overview of the Planes, which are the following:
Yak-9K, Yak-9T, Yak-3, Yak-3P, I-185 (M-82), La-5F, La-5FN, Pe-3bis,
IL-2-37, IL-2M, Yer-2, Pe-8, Pe-2.
And then will give you a guide on which planes to use, and perhaps put talismans on. I'll give timemarks on the different planes, and i'll link you to Full reviews of the planes that i did do in this rank.

Personally speaking with the big gun Yak's and the ITP I hunt bombers with those...For me that is the only use for those guns and only close in to a bomber...Stealth belts on the 12.7's/20mm which is mainly what I make kills with...I would think that the main difference in the Yak-3 and Yak-3P is not so much that you get 2 extra 20's, but that all the weapons have the same ballistics as opposed to mixed gun setups...I am sure that gaijin takes advantage of that difference every time they can...
The ITP You got two seasons ago for free in the battlepass is A BEAST!!!

Why the Yak-3P is in red? The russians used red paint sometimes for their Prototyps and for Aerobaticteam planes, Brits often used bright yellow color to paint the undersides of their Protos and on captured german planes during flight trails, germans did the same using yellow painted undersides for captured P-47, Spitfire , Tempest ect. used for Flighttests or disimilar combat training like in "Zirkus Rosarius".
they did it as a recognition aid for Flakcrews ect.
I read a book by an IL 2 pilot. He said he didn’t like it when the new ones came out with the gunner. He said the weight made the plane sluggish and “now there are two of us to get killed.

Yaks are sturdy till you use a 150% to 500% booster.

I have never played better than with the yak-9 the big guns on the 3.7 version make the game easy if you can hit your shots. I just one tap people left and right. Very satisfying
definitely satisfying, big explosions are fun!

I find every plane in the game quite enjoyable actually but your videos have been very helpful guides to me for years. Only big improvement you could do maybe is also give some manual engine control tips for planes and that would be awesome!

Hey jengar, new subscriber here, been binge watching all your reviews and tutorials and would like to thank you for your brilliant work. I've played war thunder for 4 years but until three days ago I had never played air rb. Following your teachings I have picked it up very quickly and I'm already averaging slightly over 1 kill per battle with a few battle where I've scored 3 kills. So thank you very much for helping me take the plunge into air rb and I hope you keep up your good work.

This is so thorough and awesome for new players! I've played a number of the different nations up to rank II and III and the USSR fighters/interceptors are by far my favorite I've played with so far! Can't wait to finish unlocking some of these rank III's and now I have a good idea of which ones to prioritize so thanks for the great info! :)

I actually prefer the 12.7 Berezin over the 20mm MG 151 in the Mörkö-Morane. It got better muzzle velocity and RoF and it either pilot snipes or sets planes on fire. The 20mm Mineshells might be more deadly but you also have to hit with them first and the center mounted 12.7mm gives you a lot of long range accurcy.
true, but when flying the 151's a long time aim/lead will also come naturally

I'm investigating the URSS branch, i fall in love of the Yak 9, BR3, most of times i defeat 2+ opponents, lovely plane, but weak point, low ammo ammount
Roger that samuel, the yaks are great planes once you know how to deal with their shortcommings.
@@jengar6258 Yeah, great plane, so much so that I have stopped using premium planes like the A7M1, TA-154, P47-D and XP-50, to play games only with the Yak-9, just for the fun factor, it's more funny for me more than playing with a spitfire or a zero, as I repeat, the only thing I regret is its low ammunition. I don't know whether to go for the premium Yak for the May discounts, the truth is that I don't have much money, I only have 18 dollars saved, if I can't go for a Yak I don't know which one I would go for, which premium do you recommend?
@@samuelmf Yak-9U and yak-3U are my personal favorites. you should consider a talisman on either of these. No premium in the soviet line is 'better' then these regular tree beauties.
Yak-9K, fun factor medium except if you like big guns, then it becomes your second best Russian plane :D

I think I read somewhere that the "P" for the Yak-3P and Yak-15P stands for Parade and the red skin is the parade skin.

I liked the D-13 very much when I played mainly German (and Sweden) and knew the MG 151 cannon with the back of my hand. It’s the only Premium I’ve bought. Found it to be really good when used as boom and zoomer and bomber hunter.
I’d rather have the yak3p because 3 20mms are better than just 1 with 2 50cals

Why are there so many bots in the comment? Also one thing that the Yak-9T now comes before Yak-9K. Previously it was the opposite. I guess this is good since the Yak-9T is slightly better imo.

It is really a shame that the PE-3s are so bad. They are beautiful aircraft. Low profile, long, sleek, great symmetry with the twin engines and tails.
