    Very nice formula without that bad egg smell. I like the subtle toning more too.
    That Book on your table arrived today and the first impression is fantastic. Now i need more bad weather to get into it deeper… ;)

    Thank you for this. I've been a bit nervous to try sepia toning. This has given me confidence.

    Another very educating video, very well presented John! Thank you truly. I would love to learn about the other two toners you have mentioned as well. Seeing the image fade away in the bleach was a bit of a shock, equally so when it reappeared in the toner. Great stuff! - Cheers from Greece.

      Many thanks for you comment. I really wanted to show how the image is bleached and how it reappears in its new form; I'm especially glad you mentioned that. Toning is a most enjoyable experience. Love to Greece 🇬🇷

    Very nice video. Is it possible to reuse the bleach? Pour it over to a bottle and use next time? For how long does it stay fresh then?

      The bleach goes bad quickly when dilute but check out my "Liquid Sunshine" video on how to make the bleach so it'll last well in separate solutions.

    Enjoyed your video as usual - thanks! Wondering if a pre-wash before bleaching would be a good idea if you had any concerns about fix not fully washed from your print before drying?

      Hi Andrew and thanks! If there's any doubt about whether the print is full washed of fix then definitely a good idea. It won't change the bleaching effect at all.

    Thanks for this informative video. Am I correct in thinking that refixing is necessary after bleaching and toning, but not required after selenium toning without a pre-bleach?

    • @PictorialPlanet
      @PictorialPlanet  2 года назад +1

      Hi Mike. If I fully bleach and tone an image there's no need to re-fix, just a full wash is required. This is the normal procedure for all toning. However, if I partially bleach(pull) and tone an image I do re-fix, as I mention in the video.

      @@PictorialPlanet Thanks John. I had it in my head that any bleaching required a refix. I nearly always pull from the bleach early as I'm looking for a very light tone in the highlights most times, so I'll continue to refix after.

    Great video. I ordered your book last night. Can I ask, would this work with resin coated papers?

    Very good video, I like your channel, thank you!
    How many 8x10 can you use on the same bleach and toner?

    • @PictorialPlanet
      @PictorialPlanet  Год назад

      The bleach goes bad after a short while, 10 to 20 minutes really. The toner will last longer. I don't know how many prints you can do in them. I usually do around 6 in a session.

    Excellent video! However Thiourea is pronounced "thigh-oh-you-REE-uh". It's the molecule urea substituted with a sulfur atom instead of an oxygen. Organosulfur compounds often get the thio- prefix, hence thio-urea.
