- So it’s been a steep learning curve so far but luckily a lot of the skills I’ve learnt over the last 15 odd years have been transferable into dairy we talk calf breeds tubing how and why and what milk bar feeders we use, pigs arrive I make a pig house it’s all good go go

Love your attitude Charlotte, when someone tells you it can't be done. So long as it's tempered by the common sense to realise not all things can be done. PS: Have you got the UK's first self shearing flock of sheep. 🤔😉👍.
Been meaning to ask, what is that song you often use ... "more trouble than he's worth"? My wife says that should be my theme song! Shazam doesn't pick up on the lyrics at all and Google is useless. Garnet.
You need to get them lambs on to grass, you're just burning feed for no reason at this stage.....don't believe the bollocks that comes out of ag colleges.
The pigs think their new house is squealy good.
Why have you divested yourself of chickens?
I didn’t they were getting very old a cold winter seemed to finish a few off then the dog ate one
Did I see your one and only chicken looking for its home... " She's only gone and moved my house... 🤬" I'm Tamworth, born and bred..
You don't need to put click under the lambs arm pits because it protects 100% of the body from fly strike even tho you haven't sprayed it on 100% of the body if you know what I mean. Its a whole body effective spray that doesn't need cover the whole body of the lamb
do you brix test the colostrum Charlotte - I know the dairy farmers here in NZ do and I have watched Tom Pem do and talk about their farm doing brix testing - a brix meter (also called a refractometer) is NZ$100-150 -22% and above is kept and 18% and below is discarded
Yes I do I should show that shouldn’t I we had some bad colostrum a few years back it turned out to be iodine problems but have them a boost anyway
I dont remember the 3 little pigs having a cladding house 😂
They do now 😍😍😍😍
I think the problems you will find will not relate to the ability to instal the pigs but the effect upon the land over a period of time. If the idea is to use surplus milk from the cows then the activity has merit but for a few pigs when you already have bovine commitment as well as sheep is yet another diversification without any further man/woman power. Matters are easy when going well but animals grow and that can cause problems.
We have kept pigs for years and always have two on all year round, I just wanted them outside while it’s warm
great stuff misses is a jelly fanny related to a jelly fish
Yes,what type of warranty do they have on the Robots?
Diversity on your farm is good. 25k subscribers just around the corner!
They do have a larger variety of animals than most of the Farms on You Tube
How long does a cow produce colostrum for after calving? How long does it take before it can go back into the milking herd? Its been amazing following your journey, I look forward to every video, thank you.
Thank you, Charlotte, for making my night in work more fun 👍 you did a good job sorting the girls' new house out. Did you name them yet 😅 I am going to watch it again later today ( I was watching in-between calls. 😂 ) how many more calf's do you expect, and will you be selling them on. Great video 👍
Yep .....you cant do that!! Yeah righty oh .......job done!! 😁 mind im sure they say that just so we do it 😂. Great video Charlotte loving the piggies 💜. I know of the farm with the big plastic cows on the drive it looks fabulas you will have to get Jersey ones 😉. Thank you also for explaining the tube for the calfs first feeds and your honesty on what happend to you. 💜
Using certain marking/lines on sheep with the same or different colours is only way to identify your sheep when they are on a common grazing or shared land. I thought it was every sheep farmer that did it till I learned on youtube 6 years ago not many sheep farmers use common grazings or land share. Most villages in the western Isles each person that had sheep would use the same markings for their sheep their whole life in that village common grazings
Great video, we breed our jerseys to lim or sim, find that they are a better calf with a bit more stature and size in them. We used to use Angus but the calves are pretty well the same as a jersey but just black, slow growth rates and hard to sell especially through a ring.
The Tamworths are beautiful.. ❤
yes they are and will make great pork and bacon
@@mickward6751 mines a bacon sarnie 🤣
Another great vlog Charlotte with some new inmates and arrivals. It is good to see everyone finding their feet and gaining confidence daily and to end this vlog with an amazing setting sun finishes this one perfectly. Until the next episode Ta Ta For now take care and be safe Matt from Hastings.
What type of warranty do they have on the milkers?
The robots?
A great video Charlotte , at least you have Roy on the kids on the farm I have to do 95% of the work on the farm my self.
Snowing in June
"The pigs are rooting how cute" on behalf of all the viewers down here in OZ 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 if you know you know 😊
Oh my god what did I say tell me 😂😂😂😂
Rooting is ozzy slang for ....erm...adult time, I'm nearly 50 but somehow never grew up 😊 went to school in Chorley so no suprise I suppose
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA it’s not that’s hilarious
Have you named the pigs yet?
pork chop and roast pork
Smoked & unsmoked
dont plough your field now if we get a hot summer it wont grow
I’ve been drinking your milk 😂😂😂
Great video Charlotte. I wonder if you will be chasing pig’s around the fields in the next video after they have escaped. 😂😂
That's the plan! Bahahahahahaha
Pigs like to dig under fences
They do indeed 😂😂😂
Don’t know when this was recorded but why didn’t you take the hair off those ewes before you moved them? Which reminds me I need to get the packs gathered up and see if anyone will give me anything for it, god be with the days when the wool paid for something! Regards from Ireland.
Oh it was a while ago shearing next week :)
We send you the sun, from the sunrise coast, to look after and put to bed. Can you hear it goes as it drops into the Solway Firth?
I love this 😍😍😍
The piggies are going to be soooo happy in their new home.
Another great video Charlotte
27:02 Im trying to figure out why you haven’t weaned lambs yet after 6 weeks it’s ridiculous to keep them on a teet especially when they get teeth to eat creep with
Whoaaaa no lambs are on a tit at all they have been off milk for weeks
Caught up now after binge watching you and the family x
Ha ha you have not that’s some dedication 😂😂😂😂👌👌👌
When will the bikini be on in the videos its summer weather 😂😂😂😂
Roy in a bikini 👙 if that’s what floats your boat
Great video as always Charlotte
They have been farming sheep for centuries. You want advice. Just ask there are plenty of old school farmers still around. You would win there respect for asking. I have come across to many clever Dick's saying I know. So don't leave it to chance ask.
I totally agree you know me everyday is a school day
@@charlotteashleyfarm your all right las. 🌹
Awesome 👍🏼
10:09 if there 3 weeks old i would be transitioning them to creep
The lambs? They are off milk completely by five weeks and onto hard nuts :)
Can you go into more depth about the Yoni? Problem you refer to?
Google doesn’t list a disease / condition that sounds similar in spelling. Also none of the major diseases they do list necessitate removal of the calf straight away
It's spelt Johnes.
Spread through infected poo, so the theory is to get the calf away to somewhere clean before it starts touching anything with its mouth
Johnes x
Are they about ready for slaughter xx
No not yet :)
Good evening Charlotte how are you
Good evening paddy how are ya x x x
