- Full on days- highland show bound in the Ineos grenadier it HAS NO MIRROR like whattttt, slow going but I suppose that’s not where it excels. The police come over from the rural crime team to talk about dog attacks quad bike theft and other rural issues he brings a HUGE DRONE and I get to have a go it’s CRAZY, good days getting lots done sorry there isn’t more show footage you don’t want the same as everyone else.
My name is Charlotte Ashley and as of earlier this month I’m a dairy farmer and we milk 120 jerseys and associated followers on two Lely astronaught A5s
-A quick rundown if you are new to the channel I’m not from farming, Social media started as a casual interest in photography and farming combined I was a very green city girl and had a very excitable view of farming sharing it with my friends from city areas and it has grown from that into youtube and all other associated platforms below.
in 2009 i had no experience of farming or the realities that came with it. That soon changed when I met my other half Roy, I had a job as a carer and in every spare moment threw myself into farming. I had only ever driven a Nissan Micra and had experience with horses, I learnt the hard way as nobody had the time to show me and soon after arriving I found myself mothering on calves to three quarter bred limmy cows. We spent every available moment on the farm between our day jobs. Fast forward to 2016 two children later we moved into our very own farm overlooking the northern Pennines, Laitha.
I am overjoyed to be a farmer. I feel so fortunate every day to wake up and do what I love and even better share it with the world and hope it inspires more young people from Preston to spread their wings and think outside the box the world doesn’t need more childcare workers or hairdressers it needs more farmers.

I've lost 4 sheep to dog attacks over the last few years..... and I only have a few pet sheep. They were on the park over winter. The police couldn't give a toss, the park Ranger just told me to remove the carcass before the public saw them. The dog owners were never identified. On one occasion I was feeding when a dog ran in and scattered the sheep. I managed to follow the dog back to its handler. They said they had no idea there were sheep on the field even though there were signs on the gate. RIP Aggie, Karen, Rosie and Lambsie
I honestly don’t know how people cope on the urban fringe it’s infuriating

Hi Charlotte when i worked on a large farm with 1500 sheep in the 1980s we had two cases of dogs attacking the sheep the dogs didn't last long the shepherd caught up with them and shot them dead the owners had a warning but chose to ignore it.
Wow as if they didn’t listen that’s learning the hard way
It's great to know you've a friend in the police service and one you can trust.
Over seen loads of police assisting bailiffs when they're there just to keep the peace.

Interesting 😕when we had breaking workshop tool and garden tools including our petrol lawn mower in total about 3k worth police did nothing give us a ref number for insurance that was 12 years ago hopefully/sound like they charged 🤞🤞
What's needed is a direct number for the rural crime division. I drive round rural Cumbria all night and have come across suspicious activity on several occasions, by the time you get through to 101 and explain to a none rural understanding person no offence intended it's to late or I'm back in Lancashire. Rural crime is actually on the increase as there is not enough police anymore.

Glad you enjoyed the Best Agricultural Show. We had ro miss Friday as my wife was doing a trun around at her holiday cottage ( Gaidre Cottage on Sykes Holidays) but we managed the other 3 days and avoided the rain.

Super segment with the rural crime police. Had my quad stolen quite a few years ago. The notion of being watched is un nerving for a time after.

I can just see you sitting up in your new office launching your new drone checking on the cows and sheep out in the fields 😂. All joking aside think of the time it would save if you sent a drone up around the fields 🤔. I would agree with you about the shows. It’s more fun seeing you having a bit of craic with your friends.

I'll never forget on a told me a curtain. Keep your seatbelt on cause. It could be a police car parked in the yard. We had friends in the forces and they call in for a coffee. Or a break, and just a chat and use the loo. The look on his face the day. She, there was one part in the yard.❤❤❤❤
Good to see you having time away from the farm crime on farm getting worse here i would never go out in the yard without letting someone know I've gone have had a couple of people approach me from the sheds very very scary keep up the good work
Seeing all the cows lead down 1st thought how happy they they all looked 2nd thought cows seem to use male urinal etiquette ie never use the next stall unless absolutley no other option cheers John

yet another fantastic video, and what a mixed bag it was, I love the use of Drones for emergency services ( if you only knew the cost for the police helicopter to be called out ) and it is good to see the rural forces trying to up their game ( all over the country). I went to the Royal Cornwall show the other week and the Highland show looked far more interesting.
I cant believe you had use of a Chelsea tractor to go to the show, not sure if it was letting the side down or you were been ironic lmao.

It was great I will say it excels at towing and farm work off-road maybe not the same sort of vehicle as my old BM for the motorway
Do farmers still have the right to shoot a dog that is worrying/attacking sheep. Nice to see the cops out talking to farmers about keeping stuff safe.😊

I farm near Barmouth North Wales dog attacks has gone from once a year to once a month in the last five years. Every time I tell someone to keep there dog on leads the standard answer is my dog is OK and will never do that. They think they have the god given rights to do as they please.
