Anything that has that much stuff growing inside.... I'd be thinking a Jerry can and some matches might be the best idea! If you do take it on I'd wager you'll still be looking at it this time next year unless Matt is willing to throw a load of money at it, or is willing to hire a 2nd unit just for the Range Rover.
That *may* be an ex landrover company vehicle…means it’s worth at least £50 more than a normal one so definitely worth doing…😀…on a serious note, always up for watching others get stuck into a classic - it’s helpful inspiration to get my own one done..!
It was running when it was driven into the paint shop in 2019, it was then stripped down and all the welding done, all the panels and parts were put inside and it was trailered to its present location, the doors and bonnet etc... were put on temporary to keep the weather out. I had the head lining re-trimmed, I bought a new fuel tank, which is also inside, I even had the interior valeted before it was put back inside! I know it looks like a real challenge but once you have trailered it to your unit, and emptied it out, it will be easier than you think! I have a brand new set of wheels and tyres in my lock up waiting to be fitted!!!
also, inside, I have a replacement door for that door your looking at (3:50), I could only get a green one, so it will need paint but I guess Matt will get the whole car repainted when the time comes.
Mate you're definitely selling it here ha ha did matt learn his sales patter off you??! Ha ha tbh if it was empty and everything was washed it'd look at least 10% better ha ha 😂
the wings are inside, there is even a bag of 8mm nuts n bolts to bolt the panels back on! the chases is solid or we'd have scrapped it long ago, after the brakes are sorted, and the new wheels are on you can wheel it in and out, and on the bright side, there's no airbags!! ;-) @@TransformotionVR
Everything seem there internally, the frames are probably rock solid and all the body panels just bolt off/on. There's also a decent amount of spare parts available.
Ah an old Rangey! I owned one of these back with leather trim in the early 2000s, trust me when I say this will be one of the best vehicles you have ever driven once you work your magic & they make you feel like an 'Old Money' land owner & not a Premiership Footballer. Good Luck lads..... enjoy!

It never purposely went off road but in the bad winter of 2009, I had no idea it had snowed, it was sure footed, comfortable & regardless of what people say, it was very reliable! This will be a great project if Matt spends on it & you will love it!
Matts a Range Rover nerd and loves to save old cars. If you can get this up and running. Matt will keep it and build on it slowly till he gets it to the standard he thinks it should be. So go for it...

'Imstokze' RUclips channel contacted a Land Rover/Range Rover cemetery/salvage site up in Scotland posted 11 months ago. They did videos on the site. So I think that you and Matt could find out what the exact details are of the owners up in Scotland then source possible parts from the various Range Rovers. But I think that Matt would want to rescue all of the vehicles, then his phrase 'I have massively over spent' would be on a whole new level 😂.
Lads, Lads, Lads, There's no doubt in my mind that you would get this looking better than OEM but, I really think it's a Range Rover to far. As you already said, there's no telling how long it would take you to complete the job and that's if you can find all the parts that it may need and what their delivery timeframe is. If matt isn't in a rush then you can do it a wee bit at a time while you do the other builds but, I still think it would take forever to do. I would give this one a miss. Can't wait for the next build to start and if it's half as good as the job you did on the M4, it will be another cracking build.

If it does, it'll need a mini-valet at Tameside Valet ;) Or you could bring it back to life as an Expedition car, no frills, utilitarian with a winch, an awning for overnighting and with maybe some travelling home comforts - a gas bottle, water store, power supply. Enough to let you make a brew.
The bonnet won’t open, the car’s trying to tell you “cover me up and leave me in peace” 😂 That said, classic values are going up and up, restore it and hold on for a few years.
I’d be surprised if you got change from ten grand to make this a reasonably tidy road worthy example. Every consumable is going to need changing, finding bolts and screws, difficult trim pieces, all sorts. LR Centre in Speke might be a place to start exercising the credit card!

Probably not. Even a quick search reveals RR prices are all over the shop, it would be hard to predict a selling price which makes the rebuild cost a complete gamble. Good luck.

If it was a v8 and i had the time and space, the only thing that would stop me would be the price and availability of parts. They aren't bad to work on and if the self leveling strut still works, the gearbox is ok, then you're already on the way to a finish line👍 good luck.

Go and have a look at a channel called Church House Classics (Richard) if you want to see how a project like this runs away ... it seems to be less the pieces such as a chassis, you can replace those .... but the work that goes into the inner wings / goalposts / b pillars etc - it becomes a welding nightmare. You could do worse than get Richard from Church House to have a poke about and give a second opinion - he's restoring his own 1993 Rangey in between customer work.

New body shells and chassis are available from land rover. If you could get good used body shell from Spain and get it galvanised and new galvanised chassis, think you need to assess and cost.

I have 5 Classics. Recently finished restoring a '92, apart from spraying. Was in much better condition than this one but still a lot of work. Yes, it can be restored but will cost far more than the car will ever be worth.
About £2k in parts. As I say, wasn't as bad as this one. I restore them myself, apart from spraying, so no labour costs. Lost count how many hours I spent on it!
This could be make or break / how long will it be in the way while you could be doing other things push in and out how long will that take every day for months
Don't do it unless you can knock it out in 3 or 4 episodes. Old Rangies done to death on YT. Love you guys,the skills and the craic, but we're all watching salvage rebuilds uk and saving salvage. Love a Range Rover classic. My old man had 5 of them. That’s a late one but with original dash and velour interior- the best one imho.

If it was a v8 and i had the time and space, the only thing that would stop me would be the price and availability of parts. They aren't bad to work on and if the self leveling strut still works, the gearbox is ok, then you're already on the way to a finish line👍 good luck.

It’s a 3.9 V8 and it’s on coil springs, not air which I think is a blessing

Go and have a look at a channel called Church House Classics (Richard) if you want to see how a project like this runs away ... it seems to be less the pieces such as a chassis, you can replace those .... but the work that goes into the inner wings / goalposts / b pillars etc - it becomes a welding nightmare. You could do worse than get Richard from Church House to have a poke about and give a second opinion - he's restoring his own 1993 Rangey in between customer work.

New body shells and chassis are available from land rover. If you could get good used body shell from Spain and get it galvanised and new galvanised chassis, think you need to assess and cost.

Apparently the chassis is solid and it had all the welding done a few years ago, that's not to say more hasn't developed

I have 5 Classics. Recently finished restoring a '92, apart from spraying. Was in much better condition than this one but still a lot of work. Yes, it can be restored but will cost far more than the car will ever be worth.

About £2k in parts. As I say, wasn't as bad as this one. I restore them myself, apart from spraying, so no labour costs. Lost count how many hours I spent on it!

You need a USP thats just you. Only my opinion. I want to see more stuff from you lot and I know you have the capability, find something that's new and gets a buzz going.
