Thank you both for all the hard work you do made me hungry as did your lovely grandchildren over on Vegtastic Mum who are becoming brilliant little cooks making and serving up some savoury treats ❤❤
Martin you are a card. So funny fantastic sense of humour. Not forgetting Sharon's sense of humour. A genuine traditional British Family. You guys lift my spirits so high. I maybe stuck in bed however I have an amazing family. I'm so lucky to have a close traditional British family too. Means the world. Peace and love
I tried 2 whole ordinary eggs straight from the box in one drawer of the ninja and 2 slices of toast in the other drawer, 7 mins both on 200 and perfect boiled eggs and soldiers! Air fryers are brilliant 👏
Have very good memories of Harringtons, Wandsworth Road. Used to go there regularly as a kid. Also Arments, just off Walworth Road and the pie n mash shop which used to be in Brixton. Now live in Crawley where unfortunately there are no pie n mash shops around 😒
Great review . Harrington did have one in Wandsworth road. I liked it better then then the one in tooting. Yes there was also a pie n mash shop in Wandsworth bridge road. Which we used when we moved to Wandsworth.. Also there was one in Earlsfield in the 70s .
Really enjoyed this , I always learn lots I'm a vinegar, then salt but I lift fries up to do underneath first. Sometimes there are times when you have to eat simple , cheaper food to stretch the budget . Your fish sticks do look like fish , we get minced fishing ours! $8 for 12. I've never tasted pie and mash, and I know none of my family has. It's put on the list for our next visit home.
£2 for the fish fingers and chips is a decent price. Looking at the basics ranges for Asda, Sainsbury and Tesco, they would all cost £1.20 for the cheapest fish fingers alone. Pick a Non basic brand, say the Supermarket own main label and they alone would cost more than £2 for 16. A nice find and very good price.
There is a well known East end pie & mash shop called Cooke's, Roman road, Bow and many other places, I was brought up on it, but haven't had it in years. Best wishes to you both x
I'm not a big fan of ready meals but this here didn't look bad at all. Like you said, it's not for everyday but on a bad-hair-day when you are so fed up and tired, just put it in the air fryer and have a filling meal. Nothing wrong with that. I like these videos because you guys are absolutely honest in your judgement. Thank you and have a nice week. 🙋🏻♀
I love your videos so much, so I’m hoping you’ll help me with something Martin, we sometimes misquote sayings, but we mostly only misquote them when they were misquoted to us! “The proof is in the pudding” is actually “the proof of the pudding is in the eating”
I grew up on pie mash, I'm from the East End, I now live in Portugal. You can get Robin's frozen pie mash. It is good and very similar. I think it's made by Robins in the East End anyway. Expensive and not a lot in the box. So dont bother😂
I like that you also review ready meals - when you look at them in the shops you have no idea if any good do you? Sometimes there is a need for a ready meal. Not everyone has time to prepare and cook a meal at home and also like me on Saturday, it's a night off cooking treat as my other half will be away!
❤ Hi , your videos make my day, everyday. Trying many of your creations. Most of my cooking nowadays is done in my Cosori Dual Blaze. It is absolutely outstanding. best regards Jonas from Sweden
Love ur videos. I cam across u by cooking. U all make me smile when my mental health kicks in. Ur banter I love. I thought I court up will with ur uploads. But more poping up. From yrs ago. Stay safe and thank you for ur vifs. Take care Helen xx
Hi Sharon and Martin, I didn't think either of those meals looked too sad. The pastry on the pie looked good but the absolute bargain has to be the fish fingers and chips for £2.00. I do the same as you Martin, salt, vinegar and then more salt. As you said, Sharon home cooked food is better but something like that as a quick meal is worth having in the freezer for the chance of unexpected guests turning up.
2pounds really bloody amazing Martin and Mrs B. If you are ever in Sheringham Norfolk. Go to the pieman. Best homemade pies and home cooked food. Tony is a legend 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Cooks is an old established pie and mash shop in east ham London but I don't think it's there no more it's moved as I used to have it every Saturday. love you to keep the videos coming there brilliant always feel hungry watching them👏👏👍
I wonder if you could make chilli vinegar with regular vinegar and chilli flakes at home. I’ve never heard of that. I always like vinegar in stew and on cabbage etc. makes it much nicer good value for those fish fingers and fries. I like em in a sandwich 😉
Great content again guys, really helpful for people who are struggling with the price of everything at the minute,a lo of food there for a couple of quid👍
Cook`s had pie and mash shops in the 50`s in the east end,I lived in East Ham and as a kid used to watch a guy in an open window over a table preparing the live eels bye cutting their heads off.
Foil knackers any air fryer dish for me too. I wonder if it's the power of the fan knocking all the heat away. It's nowhere near as bad in a standard oven
Great video guys, that meal for £2 was a real bargain, next time your in Scotland nip along to the chippy and get a steak pie supper with mushy peas 😋😋have a great weekend.
Sometimes you just want to knock up fish fingers and chips for half-time when the footy is on. The AF400 with sync is ideal for that. Thanks for another superb video.
Hi Sharon and Martin, I got the Cosori Dual Blaze Air fryer, I wanted to ask what size parchment trays to get please? Have not used it yet. Thank you from Sue x
Hi Martin and Sharon , there’s a cooks In Shepherd’s Bush where we use to get ours when I lived in Roehampton delicious. Love all your videos , so funny 😂
I'm off to heron tomorrow to get us some fish fingers and chips. A bargain at the price so I just need to have a taste test. Great video as always both
Too be honest that pie n mash looks well nice, those fish fingers and chips are a bargain and i would have at least 5 fingers, got to think that would do a family with kids, thanks for keeping us all informed whats out there thats still pretty cheap.
You're both inspirational, thanks to you I Iove my Cosori 5.5Ltr. HOWEVER.... how about applying your skills to a Halogen Oven? I only use mine when I can't fit something into my Cosori 👍
I'd eat the whole 16 fish fingers and all the chips in one meal. There isn't a heron's foods near me only a Food Warehouse that's basically an Iceland store but bigger.
Cooks pie and mash shop was in Dalston junction. Now shut .I use to go there to pick up pie and mash for me and my brother in law. He always asked for double liquor. Cooks shop window used to be open and they had live eels for sale. You picked your eels and he prepared them for you. Long gone but there is a manzies pie and mash shop in Hoddesdon Hertfordshire.
I've often wondered when chilli vinegar got associated with Pie & Mash. I mean, chilli peppers don't strike me as traditional Cockney fare, but I might be wrong!
Love your vids I’ve never made a comment on your channel but we’ve been watching your channel for a long time, thought you might have a go at making hasselback potatoes they are fantastic we use to make them in the oven but after watching your channel for so long we bought a ninja duel and we make them in that, try them 👍👍
I tried the fishfingers and chips a couple of weeks ago - was well worth it just for the fishfingers . Single bod and did me 4 meals , was plenty there. With few exceptions the xsell range in Herons is pretty good
I get same fish Fingers and chips it dose me2 days and you can by just bag of there own value ones of 32 fore the same but the pie and mash looks nice but I do my own gravy sauce liquor whatever you wanna call it still looks beautiful
I've never heard of pie and mash before because I have been born and bred in Stoke... You should try a Wright's Meat and Potato pie.... they are lovely :) and local to Stoke/Crewe
Looked brilliant we finally managed to get a Ninja and I must say not used it much yet, and yes it is a learning curve but very impressed thanks for your vids look forward to more, on a side note I also purchased a diesel heater for my shed wife says stop watching Martin and Sharon he is costing you a fortune on gadgets lol but to be fair after watching your videos it takes a lot of the guess work out of deciding on what is a good option and up to now you have saved me a lot of hassle keep up the good work you guys love all the channels.
2 pound for all those fish fingers and chips. That would feed 4 kids for a nice cheap tea. Especially with families struggling
I was born within the sound of bow bells,so a true cockney, pie and mash was our Friday night tea each week.x
Love that!
Thank you both for all the hard work you do made me hungry as did your lovely grandchildren over on Vegtastic Mum who are becoming brilliant little cooks making and serving up some savoury treats ❤❤
Yes, they are enjoying cooking with Stacey.
Martin you are a card. So funny fantastic sense of humour. Not forgetting Sharon's sense of humour.

Same as me when I lived in London.
I think your food photography is excellent
Thank you Dona
Yep, Harrington in Tooting on Selkirk road, where I grew up. Still there today, established in 1908. Can you do your own recipe simulation?
We will try that soon.,
Great video guys, that meal for £2 was a real bargain, next time your in Scotland nip along to the chippy and get a steak pie supper with mushy peas 😋😋have a great weekend.
Sounds good!
Sometimes you just want to knock up fish fingers and chips for half-time when the footy is on. The AF400 with sync is ideal for that. Thanks for another superb video.
Supermarket fishcakes also ok for times you can't be arsed doing your own thing :)
Very true!
10:10 I was always told the shiny side goes on the inside to keep the heat in. You had it the wrong way around if true.
i don't think it makes any measurable difference. I've always done it this way. Habit I suppose.
Great video, the xsell range at Herons is usually from a well known brand 😊
Hi Sharon and Martin, I got the Cosori Dual Blaze Air fryer, I wanted to ask what size parchment trays to get please? Have not used it yet. Thank you from Sue x

All them fish fingers is good and the pie and mash not bad
Looked brilliant we finally managed to get a Ninja and I must say not used it much yet, and yes it is a learning curve but very impressed thanks for your vids look forward to more, on a side note I also purchased a diesel heater for my shed wife says stop watching Martin and Sharon he is costing you a fortune on gadgets lol but to be fair after watching your videos it takes a lot of the guess work out of deciding on what is a good option and up to now you have saved me a lot of hassle keep up the good work you guys love all the channels.
Thank you so much Rob, glad you enjoy the vids bud.😁
Good video both, how did you get fish finger to stay rigid, if l pick mine up lt goes floppy, without being rude, lol not keen on pie mash, 😂
Use two hands Christine, They can be a bit fragile.
Where can I buy chilli vinegar? Never heard of it
From any pie and mash shop online
Hi guys, could you please let me know where you get your chilli vinegar 😊
Direct from the pie and mash shop, Arments or Manze's. You can get it online.
