Only asking this because i have only one friend i get together with now and days, how BAD are the bots in this game? Have they improved since the closed beta and can they be as effective as the current Vermintide 2 Bots or not?
toughness is probably my favourite new addition. Nothing more annoying in vermintide than losing half your hp because 1 skavenslave you didnt see managed to hit you in the back once
Legit, one of my biggest feedback gripes I gave on the forum was not having an area to test my weapons to see which versions I liked better or to test new talents to see which one would be more beneficial. I woulda been happy with something like Vermintide 2; but having actual models of the enemies that you can test hit boxes and see where the best spots to shoot/hit them and other stuff is BIG BIG BIG.
there are so, so many games where the ability to practice your shots and hits like this would have been an absolute godsend, and instead they give you training dummies or a wooden fold-down target, if anything at all
1:15 Watching the Bolter utterly explode enemies it hits, but the character struggling to control the recoil is probably the best way they can interpret the Bolt Gun (And hell, it's not even a full sized bolt gun - just the 'mini' version given to the guard and Sisters)
I'm really hoping there will be a bolt pistol/chainsword combo weapon similar to Saltz's rapier/pistol. A Commissar with a gun in one hand and a sword in the other is one of most iconic images in 40k.
HUD means heads up display, your in-game health bar and such. You probably mean the gear UI. And yeah we all hate that trend of not giving the player enough info. I think it's intentional. It's not THAT bad because there will be youtube and other guides delivering all the info after their testing etc. But it is kind of insulting to not even have an option to enable it, just because some casuals might get overwhelmed if they turn it on.
@@wtfronsson Living up to your name :D Anyhow, I do think it is that bad. In Vermintide we need a spreadsheet to be able to calculate breakpoints and optimize builds. God yeah, Fatshark really need to make their UI more informative. The Closed Beta's bars for weapons was just bad and I really want to know how much ammo my teammates have.
I hope they make a few more “social” elements to the hub, like a literal shooting range with a method of scoring points and maybe a bar area similar to DRG, maybe with a emperor’s tarot poker-style game to just chill with friends or randos between rounds
I highly recommend separating dodge and jump, instead bind sprint and dodge both to left shift. Because you can(and sometimes will have to) jump to the side or rear, but you can't sprint to side/rear(can only do diagonal sprint at best). Binding sprint and dodge together perfectly separates these two horizontal movement abilities while space can be reserved for better movement(jumping at end of dodge to replace slowdown at end of dodge with speed of jump).

Great video, thank you! If I understand correctly, the amount of health bar sections is the amount of times you can be downed without being killed (well, that plus one, I guess), and I see that the Ogryn has more health bar sections. Does that mean the Ogryn can be downed more times before being killed / loses a lower percentage of max health from grimoires (which, if I understand correctly, reserves one health bar section)? Thanks in advance, and praise the Emperor!
correct, Ogryn can be downed more times before being killed. on higher difficulties it usually wont matter though, if you're getting downed multiple times, your team is probably dying or dead anyway

Was friendly fire turned on in this build? If so, did it feel worse compared to Vermintide, in terms of having a big Ogryn in front, or being more of a 50/50 split on melee/ranged?
if its the same skill from the same character with the same name for the ability, it generally does not stack. you dont necessarily need a "balanced" team. you can easily run 4 psykers or 4 veterans, but it can be good to avoid spamming the same group benefit talents

Lovely content and happy Fat Shark gave you such big opportunity and on top of that an announcement on their DarkTide discord. +1 sub and looking forward for more awesome content and of course, the part 2!
Not sure I like how itemization is implemented in this game. REALLY can't stand the entire RNG fiesta and don't understand why FS simply doesn't stick with the crafting system from Weaves. I also hope they don't overdo it with coherency bonuses since I don't want my character to be defined by what other people are picking to play (I like to create my own builds, thank you), nor do I want the feel of being tied together by an invisible rope (the reason why no one likes that Nurgle's torch curse in Chaos Wastes). It also reduces individual skill expression for no good reason, while also punishing those situational (yet needed) moments of separating from your team. Not only that, but now the 'solo players' will actually cost their team even more since not only will they leave their allies with a player less, but also prevent them from getting their coherency bonus, increasing the harm caused by the 'solo players'! Organic ways of making the team stick together are way better, and if punishment for 'solo players' needs to be increased, the game should simply spawn more specials to hunt them down (after all, it makes sense for assassin-like characters to focus on isolated targets). Also, Chaos Wastes did a good job with making people stick together while preserving their individuality by increasing the randomness of the maps and scattering coins/shrines around, meaning people have to look out for stuff instead of running off on autopilot. And FS should return the score board, simple as that! Their reasons for removing it is silly to no end and mostly punishes regular players who simply want to see how they did. Besides that, the game looks good! P.S. 3:30 - Tanking isn't exactly about 'absorbing' damage, it's about protecting your team (either by making the enemy aggro you, crowd control, or direct protection of your allies) and being able to survive the enemy focusing you (which can be done trough absorbing the damage like you said, but can also be done by blocking, crowd control, and other survivability tools).
the coerency bonus aren't modifiable on a caracter and the game is design so you can playmultiple of the same caracter so I would guess that they aren't essential.
what kind and number of attachments and cosmetics, if any, can we modify our weaponry with? Like i know we've got sights, and a "special" slot for flashlights and bayonets, but is there any other stuff you've had access to and could mention?
So have they fixed the chain weapons? Seem to be really cool but I am wondering if they have fixed what people were complaining about earlier? Mainly the lack of a "chain" sound on light attacks and the special not worth doing because the lack of damage and how long it takes to rev up the motor?
Is this a newer build? How's performance compared to previous beta? It's the only thing that made me hold my preorder, because Beta performance was shaky af.
Hoi, great video! This one is for Cadia ! Two questions came in my mind while watching. First, do you have the ability to remove wobble in options in the build you're actually playing? And second, do dodging with a ranged melee weapon is still not as good than with melee weapon (about enemies hit tracking)? Thank you for your answer, may the emperor protect you !
Could use some dmg numbers in game as on while playing mission. Tho I like very much that mini arena where tutorial was. I wish there was some "horde" simulation units, even 6 of them but close to each other to test cleave.
You forgot to mention that dodges have i-frames. Unlike in Vermintide where dodges DIDN'T have i-frames, Darktide dodges are OP, bcs even if you get surrounded, you can still i-frame the attacks by "dodging" on the spot. There were many situations where I was completely surrounded, but I survived bcs there were no special enemies on me, so I just killed everything while enemy attacks just phased through my character.
@@leros6484 Yes, dodges have i-frames. I abused the shit out of it while playing zealot. If those weren't i-frames, then I would really want to know, how could attacks constantly phase through my character. The concrete proof I have of it is if you dodge into plague ogryn slam attacks, they don't do any dmg.
Mousewheel to the left = Dodge left Mousewheel to the right = Dodge right I really recommend this to everyone, try it and see if it works for you(Provided your mouse has the capability)
which class do i have to play to get the bolter? or is it for everyone? damn did not thought they would have it in the game, the most iconic weapon there is in wh40k ^^ and am i the only one who thinks there should be a pvp mode like in L4D2 with the spcielas in this game which remind me so hard to the special zombies ^^
I'ma spam this in as many places as I can. FATSHARK! PLEASE change the push attack for every weapon automatically putting you back into blocking stance, even if you've never hit block since performing the attack! It really screws with melee combat flow, making me pause in the middle of trying to attack. It would also be great it those push attacks could start weapon chain attacks, like in V2. Edit: After watching your vid, I'm shocked you were able to use this in a chain attack. Every single weapon I tried in the beta did now allow this.
I hope to god you can make the Hub lobby's private. In the last beta we all sat for sometimes 4-5 minutes loading in because of peoples crappy connections. We never had those issues on Vermintide and it would be a shame to slow the general game experience just because we're waiting on randoms to join our lobby
Wondering about the same thing actually, no clear answer so far, I personally play only with friends or when I'm solo I would rather play with bots than randoms.
1. Aim center mass; you'll hit your target more often and, in the lasgun's case, you'll be walking your shots up to the head. Same principle applies to hordes but better off using autoguns, shotguns, or explosives. It's more to delay the oncoming horde for those few vital seconds while thinning their numbers to a managable amount. 2. Shoot where your team isn't. You'll avoid friendly fire more often, have a clearer field of fire, spot flanking shooters and specials easier, and your Ogryn will thank you for not shooting him in the back. 3. Watch you position. I'm serious, if you see three out of four of your team mates in front of you then you're the rearguard, look behind yourself every so often. If your team is to your right watch your left, if they're to your left, watch your right, and if you're in front then keep walking until you get shot. 4. Eyes and ears. A shifting shadow means something is there and those footsteps aren't just noise. You'll feel ecstatic blasting that trapper who thought she had the jump on ya. 5. Communicate. Fucking communicate, you'll save your team but mostly yourself some serious headaches of not pointing where your guns and knives should be. Say it, type it, or press that little magic button that lights up the soiled snowflakes for all to see.
haha yeah I talk about it. newer players should definitely forge their muscle memory with dodge and jump on separate keys. but i dont want to relearn my own muscle memory, and im already good at the game ;P

@@milkandcookiesTW Thanks a lot for the answer! :)
good lord this looks amazing!
i just want to say i just barely got verminetide the day after it went freee and i had neer played it before and now im in deep this game is in my top 10 games of all time and now i want to get into warhammer 40k for a hobby all around if only i didnt get into this game in such an odd time of the year because now i dont have extra moeny so i cant even buy dark tide and it kinda sucksalmost as bad as i do at vermintide .lol and now that dark tide comes with so much more shooting i just cant wait but i am going to just suck it up and play cod dmz and warzone 2 for a little whle and then maybe save some money for a cpl weeks since i dont have much extra money able to save and then ill get it .
Jaw hit the floor when I saw the bolter.
N-not because it's cool or anything, but because the recoil got me in the face.
Was friendly fire turned on in this build? If so, did it feel worse compared to Vermintide, in terms of having a big Ogryn in front, or being more of a 50/50 split on melee/ranged?
there hasn't been any friendly fire in any of the beta or pre release builds. they can block your shots but dont take damage
Just wondering if the performance is any better in preorder Beta?
do we know if the passives from duplicate classes stack? or are you hurting yourselves by not bringing a balanced team?
if its the same skill from the same character with the same name for the ability, it generally does not stack. you dont necessarily need a "balanced" team. you can easily run 4 psykers or 4 veterans, but it can be good to avoid spamming the same group benefit talents
@@milkandcookiesTW awesome thanks for the clarification
I wish I could play with you, I wanna get good at this game, and you seem so helpful and patient.
I hope if we meet in atoma I don't hold you back, but hopefully this video will help! Thanks it's probably my favorite game, but I suck so bad rn.
Which class did you enjoy the most with the new content?
I'm really enjoying Zealot!
@@milkandcookiesTW Please tell me the Flamethrower is available in the early access/beta
@@milkandcookiesTW That flamethrower and power hammer looks like a sick combo and gonna be a hell of a good time!
@@milkandcookiesTW Does Eviscarator have Light overheads and heavy horizontals if I saw correctly? Also do overheads have anti-armor damage? Eviscarators are capable of cutting through Space Marine armor even so it should be very strong anti-armor weapon.
Lovely content and happy Fat Shark gave you such big opportunity and on top of that an announcement on their DarkTide discord.
+1 sub and looking forward for more awesome content and of course, the part 2!
The game looks like its much better optimized than the beta a few weeks back, looks very smooth. Looking forward to thursday!
literally the game of my dreams, i cant wait to finally start playing this!!
I'm so happy to see the Kreig style lasgun, the bolter and flamer

Trust lvl 30: Semi-competent acolytes
Stamina? Really? Stamina bars are horrible. Game looks cool but I've never met a gamer yet who thinks stamina bars are a good idea.
Really looking forward to the other videos. I played a lot of vermintide but never at the highest level. I'd love to "get gud" at this one tho.
"You need to learn how to not suck, this is were "I" come in"
Damn I got 2nd hand embracement cus of that 😅
Not sure I like how itemization is implemented in this game.
P.S.
3:30 - Tanking isn't exactly about 'absorbing' damage, it's about protecting your team (either by making the enemy aggro you, crowd control, or direct protection of your allies) and being able to survive the enemy focusing you (which can be done trough absorbing the damage like you said, but can also be done by blocking, crowd control, and other survivability tools).
the coerency bonus aren't modifiable on a caracter and the game is design so you can playmultiple of the same caracter so I would guess that they aren't essential.
is the performance any better though??????????
what kind and number of attachments and cosmetics, if any, can we modify our weaponry with? Like i know we've got sights, and a "special" slot for flashlights and bayonets, but is there any other stuff you've had access to and could mention?
Praise be the Spawn Director! Blessed be their name!
Will characters from the beta carry over to launch?
So have they fixed the chain weapons? Seem to be really cool but I am wondering if they have fixed what people were complaining about earlier? Mainly the lack of a "chain" sound on light attacks and the special not worth doing because the lack of damage and how long it takes to rev up the motor?
Is this a newer build? How's performance compared to previous beta? It's the only thing that made me hold my preorder, because Beta performance was shaky af.
Wow! within seconds, my wish is here, having outdoor mission! I knew they would do, but so glad to see it :D can't wait!
Emperor bless this ravaged body!
Does DT have Natural Bond?
>.>
Hoi, great video! This one is for Cadia !
Two questions came in my mind while watching. First, do you have the ability to remove wobble in options in the build you're actually playing? And second, do dodging with a ranged melee weapon is still not as good than with melee weapon (about enemies hit tracking)? Thank you for your answer, may the emperor protect you !
Could use some dmg numbers in game as on while playing mission. Tho I like very much that mini arena where tutorial was. I wish there was some "horde" simulation units, even 6 of them but close to each other to test cleave.
please tell me they have the homeworld choice of Krieg
Only one class per charecter? That's a letdown considering Vermitide tree and the extra dlc one
At launch, they're adding new subclasses every few months
That Bolter rustles my jimmies something chronic.
The game not even out yet and people making guides 🤣
You forgot to mention that dodges have i-frames. Unlike in Vermintide where dodges DIDN'T have i-frames, Darktide dodges are OP, bcs even if you get surrounded, you can still i-frame the attacks by "dodging" on the spot.
There were many situations where I was completely surrounded, but I survived bcs there were no special enemies on me, so I just killed everything while enemy attacks just phased through my character.
Are you sure Dodges give I-frame ? I thought they just remove tracking from ennemies like Vermintide
@candyman s are based
@@leros6484 Yes, dodges have i-frames. I abused the shit out of it while playing zealot. If those weren't i-frames, then I would really want to know, how could attacks constantly phase through my character. The concrete proof I have of it is if you dodge into plague ogryn slam attacks, they don't do any dmg.
The moment I heard that boltgun fire, I was filled with such an intense need to purge the heretics and the unclean.
Mousewheel to the left = Dodge left
Mousewheel to the right = Dodge right
I really recommend this to everyone, try it and see if it works for you(Provided your mouse has the capability)
can you recommend a mouse that has this capability?

1:40 GOOD LORD EMPEROR YEEEESSSSS!!! Thank you fatshark , this sounds like a Bolter and not like a large assault rifle.
Im so glad the mission selection is close to DRG, endless procedural missions will give this game a shit ton of life
I agree, though I will miss the story presentation from VT2. The dialog between the characters was always a lot of fun.
Any news on private bot games yet?
My friend is really excited for this game so I am too. Hope its fun!
which class do i have to play to get the bolter? or is it for everyone? damn did not thought they would have it in the game, the most iconic weapon there is in wh40k ^^
and am i the only one who thinks there should be a pvp mode like in L4D2 with the spcielas in this game which remind me so hard to the special zombies ^^
Veteran and Zealot at least have the Boltgun

Big question, has the holy chainsword been fixed?

How are you already playing Darktide? .... The heck 😞
About the Morning Star hub;
There's something that looks like a gunsmith bench/workshop with a servitor but it was not interactive for the players.
the premium currency is going to be earnable in-game or is only with monetary purchase to get cosmetics?
I hope to god you can make the Hub lobby's private. In the last beta we all sat for sometimes 4-5 minutes loading in because of peoples crappy connections. We never had those issues on Vermintide and it would be a shame to slow the general game experience just because we're waiting on randoms to join our lobby
Wondering about the same thing actually, no clear answer so far, I personally play only with friends or when I'm solo I would rather play with bots than randoms.
Huh I played pretty much the whole beta and never had load times that long, weird
I really, really hope so, I _despise_ social hub areas.
Is the early release this week going to carry over to main release?
The bolter does bolter things! The plasmagun looks so good too!
thank you very good guide, enjoyed that, got hyped so bad again i hate it :P keep it up and get better soon bro
That badlands looking map looks like it’s going to be my favorite map
Vt2 had great sound design, allowing us to pinpoint and shoot leaping gutter runners and the like. I hope this stays true.
