thank you very much for the reviews you do.
There are many channels that say how many FPS one can get with the DLSS feature enabled. But so far I saw only one guy who mentioned and measured how much slower the system becomes with DLSS. As DLSS takes a lot of the processing resources the system latency grows (64-76 ms on the desktop 4090).
This is an issue for those who want to play smoothly and at the same time gain high cybersport results.

Thanks for these tests! Love all the data! Some of my thoughts: 1) Many RTX 4060 laptops are not full power 140W GPU configurations, so take this test with a grain of salt. The vast majority of RTX 4060 laptops are in cheaper or thinner laptops, resulting most laptops being in the 75-105W range. Take for example the Gigabyte G5/MSI Katana/Zephyrus G16/Zephyrus G14 with a 4060 vs the same model last year with a low wattage 3060. The RTX 4000 series GPU scales much better at those lower wattages we often find in those thinner laptops, making the RTX 4060 have a larger gap in performance vs lower wattage RTX 3060/3070/3080 models. Meaning that when both GPUs are a lower wattages, the RTX 4060 blows past a similar wattage RTX 3060 and competes instead with 3070 TI/3080 CPUs at the lower wattages. This isn't the case the higher the wattage levels since the 3070 TI / 3080 can get better performance gains at higher wattage levels. So if you want a thicker laptop, then RTX 3000 series provides better bang for the buck in thicker/larger chassis.
    2) I have really appreciated Frame Generation for increasing the smoothness of my gameplay in recent titles like Hogwarts and Dying LIght 2. Very few artifacts are ever noticeable and the increased smoothness is very real and should not be ignored when making a purchase decision, especially if you mainly play single player games where the increased latency doesn't matter as much and frankly is very hard to notice at all.

Agreed. Several of the outliers here are well known to be VRAM hungry games even at 1080p. Hogwart's Legacy and Far Cry 6 are outliers as well, due to the 3060's 6 GB of VRAM being insufficient at max settings. Diablo 4 beta also needs 8 GB of VRAM for 1080p high (and still stutters a bit). I'm surprised that this wasn't mentioned in the review since dropping down one setting would've significantly closed the gap between 3060 and 4060.

Price tags of laptops equipped with these graphics cards are now pretty close, but the RTX 4060 is generally less power hungry, which leads to an increase of battery life. Personally, I don't think that the RTX 4060 is such a bad graphics card.

Honestly as a 3060 laptop user you can simply use NVCleanstall to remove the bloat that comes with the stock install and you can get much higher performance. For example, you might want to skip support for Stereo 3D Glasses, USB-C or Telemetry. Planning on making a tutorial on how to get low Processes in Windows 11 Task Manager. You will also get less power consumption for more performance and less fan noise for the same work load.
With that said a great video for the channel would be to compare these cards to a stock install and NVCleanstall with recommended settings. If you are looking to get a 4060 or whatever and worried about the narrower memory bus and bandwidth then consider NVCleanstall to free up some headroom and (this goes for all Nvidia Cards ) get an increase in system responsiveness allowing the card to perform like a video card and not a telemetry machince logging texture files, games and usage for some reason.

Its oranges and apples, or, well, consoles vs multimedia and work machines. That said I do hope there's a day where it's possible to get full performance and full battery life.

You're pretty much buying into FG, investing into a software solution to boost framerates (that isn't 1:1 visual quality), rather than giving you a generational performance uplift. The efficiency between them has improved, although at 100W+ it pretty much becomes useless, higher freq doesn't really help with the gimped cuda/mem bandwidth count. The only thing these 40 series dGPU seems useful for are for thin and lights, which I admit is impressive.
What has me intrigued is the results we got from 7600S from the Asus TUF A16. Although, Control benchmarks are one to one, and has the 7600S beat, in Cyberpunk and RDR2 with different settings, it doesn't seem too far off. AMD couldn't have had a better time to strike at competitive prices to keep consumers wasting there money on horrible price/perf 40 series laptop cards. So basically, the 4060 and 4070 don't have that much improvement over last gen but instead have more features and can fit into more laptops due to the lower possible power ranges? Though this is a surprise since I have seen other benchmarks that a 105 watt 4060 performs just about the same as a full powered 3060. Surprised the higher power levels didn't really give much of a gap
I personally don't understand why people complain that much with the difference. If you've got last gen's laptop, I don't think it's a good idea to upgrade to the present generation anyway. It's not like the 30 series laptop instantly becomes obsolete. For another, even with the slightly higher price, you're not exactly getting just a gpu. At best with a good monitor and good quality overall laptop, a thousand dollars is acceptable but still pushing it. I am so pissed off with Nvidia now that I'm skipping this generation completely. Except if AMD comes out with a good quality real 4060 equivalent at $1,000, I'm getting my girlfriend a previous generation laptop. My normal laptop is usually in the 4080 range, I am not paying scalping prices at any of the different tiers... This is just not happening. It is not just unfair, and I am not going to take any comments on market prices there's no such thing as unfair capitalist b*******, I'm well off, and I'm a true believer in capitalism, but I am not going to be used this way

For me, the real advantage of 4060 vs 3060 is its efficiency. Remember, the power scaling of ampere GPUs is really dependent on how much watts you pump to get the most out of the cards.
This is a big problem with lightweight and thin gaming laptops, 80-100w 3060 is really slow compared to full powered 140w 3060.
With ada 4060, the performance peaked around 100w, then went linear once you pump more power.
Therefore, you can achieve full performance even though giving only 100w to the card. This means more performance for thin and entry-level gaming laptops that dont have a robust cooling system
DLSS 3 with FG is only cherry on top, BUT FSR 3 is around the corner, which also claimed 2x performance vs. FSR 2 for both Nvidia and AMD cards to benefit.

VRAM limitations are likely coming into play heavily with the 3060. 6GB just isn't enough in 2023, it was barely enough for 1080p back in early 2021 when the mobile 3060 came out. This is made worse by the x8 PCIE link on mobile vs x16 on desktop.

True. I think 3060 is more optimal for 1080p with high preset without RTX or 1440p with DLSS. That excludes older/smaller games that can be played with any potato-pc using max settings anyway.
Modern open world games tend to use more than 6gb VRAM with max setting even without RTX (ex; cyberpunk, Forza horizon 5, Hogwarts legacy, etc.).
