It already has been happening in England for years, Wimbledon, Chester City, Accrington Stanley, Rushden & Diamonds it’s the lower league clubs that suffer the most
I remember in 2013/2014 season, Bordeaux couldn't attract fans to matches. So they asked burger king to give a free ticket away with every Burger King meal. Lets not pretend this was a club that had 50,000 fans filling its seats every week, even in Ligue 1. The football club is not the heartbeat of the community - the rugby team attract more fans. And the council own the stadium..
This club will bounce back but the French FA really need to look to protect their football institution from bad owners who look to milk the club until it runs dry
What's France's equivalent of the Big 6? *This* is one of the reasons we have PSR, so let's all be careful what we moan and whine about... Remember Leeds?
Historically probably PSG, Lyon, Marseille, Monaco, Bordeaux & Saint Etienne with maybe a team like Nantes or Lille being an equivalent to an Everton or Newcastle.
What will happen to the kids on thousands of pounds a week? They will have to find another club. Like the rest of the world when we need to change jobs.
The same thing happened to Rangers in Scotland in 2012. But a company called Sevco bought the assets and reformed the club. Fans then just pretended that it was the same club and do so to this day.
Rangers are the same club same history UEFA and FIFA both confirmed it Celtic fans just can’t handle the fact that we didn’t die we survived and are still here
Theres lots of simularities at Chelsea with yr yank owners. Get hold of your club chelsea fans. Yas cld have had a top team with all yr English players, but thwyve been sold for expensive foreign flops
Quite clearly not. I don't know what gave you that idea but don't confuse it with Wales, New Zealand or Fiji. The Ligue 1 average 26,905 fans per match compared to the Top 14's 15,252. Unlike football which is popular throughout the whole country, rugby is confined to the southern half of France.
Oh id love Chelsea to go bust. Just to see what their 'fanbase' that was founded in 2001 (and now think they're Real Madrid) would do. Support Manchester City probably.
Every league is a farmer league difference between leagues is PR ....premier league has the greatest PR on the world ....I lived in near Middlesbrough for a while saw tye EPL up close I lived in Germany for 2 years (Wuppertal) and the quality was not that different....I watch the french league Italian etc...its alk farmers league the serie a and bundesliga 2 are the best leagues in europe right now @@Barney-ii1no
If they were in Scotland they could get liquidated, go bankrupt and then pretend to be the same club. Look at the pub team Glasgow Sevco 2012, pretending they have 55 titles when in reality they have 1

100%
After bankrupting Lille, how the hell was clown Lopez allowed to then own another club???

Chelsea disbanding would be great for football.
Go do one.
Don't forget Manchester city and PSG
@@fusionsuperWould be gone and totally forgotten 😂 . The ground certainly needs bulldozing 😂 .
How they blew the 100M from Barcelona for Malcolm I’ll never know
owner just took the money instead of keeping it within the club and investing
It was 41 Million they got but still a lot of money.
$41 Million and they got ZERO to pay for back wages
This club will bounce back but the French FA really need to look to protect their football institution from bad owners who look to milk the club until it runs dry
Thats why Bundesliga is far superior
Same has been happening in our league man. Half of the biggest clubs are in bundas Liga 2. 😢
Some people think Bordeaux is a Claret!
Bordeaux is a claret .....lol ....loved faulty towers 😅😅😅
A brilliant series, pal. An institution!
You must drink a lot.
Slyvian Wiltord couldnt save his team?
Football needs a massive overhaul can’t keep going the way it is. Needs some sort wage structure implementing
Not sure what kind of structure you’re talking about, but this isn’t that far out of the norm, shocking though it is.
Clubs have always gone under.
Thanks for Lord Chamakh & Wiltord Bordeaux
Bosscielny also pretty sure he was their director of football 😅
I think Southampton FC were the last team to play them in a Friendly a couple of weeks ago.
last week. i was surprised how good they actually were especially considering what they were going through.
@@xRaiderz agree 👍

Shame feel for them as a rangers fan I know how it feels luckily for us we didn’t go amateur and kept our professional status
and Barcelona still owed them 10 million from the 2019 Malcom sale....clubs like Brokalona and Inter continue to operate on credit without punishment
Bordeaux season ticket was $20 euros and weekend match tickets was free with Burger King meal

He doesn't explain, does he? He's pretty lightweight.
Love the reference to Chelsea
Scottish clubs should be looking at all those free players they wouldn’t normally be able to afford
Sad 😢
Eredivisie will overtake Ligue 1 if they continue like this

Surely it's worth buying if you can take it for nothing and serve the interest on debt seems like a good opportunity to build a great club
Thats crazy, Bordeaux to the amateurs. The history and all. They have a better stadium than half the EPL clubs. What a shame.
The club don't own the stadium from what I can garner.
I thought they’d reverted to being an amateur club, not gone bankrupt.
They're not mutually exclusive, in fact one is the consequence of the other.
They've become an amateur club due to having gone bankrupt.
I hope all clubs fold!
Put me out my misery.
- a spurs fan 😂😂
The will be a fire sale with some of there players .
Not really they've terminated all contracts
Let's face it, France is screwed!!!!

Sad news hate to see any football club go under..except SCUM (ManU).. I would love to see that lol ...my sympathys to the fans a sad day 😢
I wouldn't wish it on Utd neither oh didn't your club nearly go under 🤔
SCUM
Is Southampton mush, South Coast Union Men

France is more Rugby country then football in general
That surprises me, but I only discovered they had a rugby team when the five nations expanded to seven.
No, no it’s not. Rugby is big in some parts of the south. The rest of the country is football.

Why are football players not on minimum wage see how many want to play football for a living then 😢
Because people are willing to pay them more
Surely some multi millionaire who has links to the club like Zidane can save them.
They don't own the pitch or training ground, FSG looked at it but didn't want to save them.
@Ruscococo1 can understand because the debt is absolutely ridiculous and poorly mismanaged

No sympathy. They chose to give bad players silly contracts.
The pitfalls of the farmer league
