1 of the first songs that turned me onto thrash/speedmetal back in the day. A coworker who was in a local alternative band in the early 90s in Seattle knew I was just discovering that style of metal (longtime 80s metal fan, Ozzy, Crue, etc.), and 1 day said "Hey you're finally getting into Metallica, right? I think you'll like this one, check it out" and handed me a cd. Phenomenal metal. Cool lyrics sung just right, a bass you can actually hear in a thrash song, a killer guitar solo that stands out in this style and makes you feel something, and of course that rhythm guitar 'solo' bridge right afterward...it doesn't get much better than this. Thanks for posting this!

I thought the same thing, cause I know I watched it at least a hundred times. Even their later shit fuckin’ rips. Seems it would’ve been cool to grow up a metal head in the early to late 80’s. But I was still getting growing teeth when this was a thing. Thank God for vinyl record stores….
@@jordanjackson6151 It was! I was13 in 1980 so I cut my teeth on NWOBHM plus all the other metal from around the world. Got to see many bands in their prime in the 80's beginning with Iron Maiden's Powerlave tour. But, what's cool about the internet is that I'm finding lots of older stuff that I never got into or was obscure. Another thing that i cool is that, if you keep an open mind, there has been great rock music in every decade! It's nice that quite a few members of the "old guard" continue to play even 40 or more years after. One band that I don't think gets the recognition they deserve is Saxon. They keep putting out quality records, even better than Priest or Maiden and have gotten a little heavier since the 90's. Kind of the way Priest did with Painkiller. Take a listen to Unleash The Beast, Inner Sanctum and their latest, Carpe Diem. Not bad for a band whose core group are all around 70!
@@briansauer6695 I’ve got some Saxon on cd and vinyl. I even have an authentic Saxon band shirt. I’m 36 now. I work in Database industry, but in my off hours, I riff the fuck out. Years before that I worked in fuse assembly. Apparently I came in one day with a vintage Pantera shirt and even Scorpions as well as some rare Deep Purple. Even older dudes were like, “Umm, I know the groups , but the shirt looks uncommon.” And I’m like, “Yeah, Only 500 of this print was made (the Pantera one in particular). Not a lot of thrashers there. To them it’s almost like, ‘the big four and nothing else matters’😒. For me Overkill was like this equally massive unit that further made itself unique with a more range expansive vocalist. NWOBHM knew what it wanted to be until it wasn’t cool to be anything other than top 40. Even early wave of 70’s Priest and Budgie kick ass. Classic 80’s Raven anyone?
